  • Uber user... :/

  • @ragnarokable45 Those aren't Ubers, they're just legendaries. Heatran, Suicune and Shaymin are pretty up there on the tier, but they're more OU that Uber.

  • Can you rate/help me with my team

  • The virginity is strong in this one...

  • This was really helpful I have been able to make a great team witht the advice although I still use my good ol' team which includes Gardevoir as a lead Altaria as Lead support Rapidash, Tangrowth and Lumineon as COres and as a Very odd Glue (since there is no where else for it to go XD) Togekiss. It may not be the greatest but it seens to work out well for me hehe~

  • Flygon is a good revenge killer? I thought he was outclassed by Dragonite and/or Landorus in every way o.O

  • can someone rate my teaM?

    Salamence

    Ferrothorn

    Jirachi

    Conkeldurr

    Landourus

    Cofagrigus?

  • @Cocos7078 reasonable choice of pokémon

jellycent might be a good substitute for your confagrigus

but your team already is pretty mainstream, maybe trying something more fancy like cofagrgigus is a good idea

  • This team is stil viable

  • Hmm... This still seems like it's a very generic team. The metagame's too established and defined. There's always going to be that one set that everyone's running, and there's always going to be the counter for that set. Here's an idea: forget thinking outside the box. Burn the box, dance on the ashes and think bigger. It's no fun having the same pokemon and sets.

  • It's no fun when everyone's using the same legendary pokemon with the same movesets and items.

  • As soon as he called shayman cute i left the video

  • Smogon has no soul

  • Comment removed

  • can you make one for OU?

  • This helped a fuckload, since im pretty much retarded when it comes to team building. =) instant sub.

  • my team is 3 blisseys a scizor a espeon and a gengar is that good?

  • @ZachJamesFriend Species Clause, and your team gets raped by physical attacks

  • @TripleRhu congratz

  • @ZachJamesFriend Why are you treating me in a sarcastic manner when you asked for help?

  • @TripleRhu you're right i'm sorry @_@

  • I got 2 walls, 1 special and one defence.

    1 stall pokemon

    2 sweepers

    No problem

  • hmmm infernape choice scar if uncommon 0.0 last match i battled one even though i still won

  • Comment removed

  • I need help also, its something thats not getting through to me -_- i'm trying for a sandstorm team but i'm unsure on the core..

  • i am building a rain dance team. plz anyone give me tips! :)

  • Go this is sad. Tiers are really pathetic.

  • @kouta4000 Its over year old, off course it doesnt work in the current metagame, it was top nut a year ago

  • Choice Scarfed Braviary ftw.

  • swog

  • This team is terrible

  • @kouta4000

its better than yours! at least this guy knows what he's doing, if you were paying attention, he's from smogon university

  • so.... i am still lost LOL but this helps a little

  • Omg I totally thought this was uploaded Jan 30 2012! Even though that's monday and its only fucking saturday... totally got siked.. this whole time I thought he was talking about 5th gen and me being the person who doesnt play 5th gen but knows about it, I said that Machamp wasn't a very good lead in 5th gen...

totally siked by this video's date..

  • k ur team is 3x weak to ground good job

  • Im a complete noob at this there is such a huge amount of stuff to learn its hard to play at the start without getting my ass kicked

  • Choice Scarf Haxorus=Pure Evil

  • A good anti-lead now in OU is Haxorus. People forget about Mold Breaker (which with E-Quake can REALLY mess up some Pokemon that rely on Levitate), and with massive attack and banded speed, there are very few things that can change into it without getting massively damaged.

  • IS there an updated version of this for B/W?

  • @GamerGuySP The same method applies for Black and White.

  • Great guide. Loved it <3

  • Team building advice? Pick the pokemon you like best. That way even if you lose you have fun using them and if you win it feels much more triumphant on a personal level

  • @CountVonRobe I completely agree. Fun pokemon are fun.

  • @CountVonRobe couldnt agree more

  • @CountVonRobe Depends on if you want to just have fun, or actually win tournaments. Unless your favourites happen to be OU monsters, you're not going to win at the organised level with them.

  • Bit OU but cool

  • "Ok... I'm just gonna go watch some porn or something..." Best part of the video XD

  • @TyrellMcClaren I think you should use an Emboar or a Tyranitar, since you are going for an attack team. :D

  • @TyrellMcClaren Jellicent to provide that extra bulk and maybe something with great speed and unpredictability maybe a Choice scarfed Ambipom

  • Me and my friend are just starting to go competitive so we battled each other (all pokemon were lv. 100) She must have seen this team as she had the exact same pokemon but she won against my team of :

    Swak,

    Musharna,

    Tepig, (everstone)

    Tympole,

    Cottonee,

    and Roggenrola.

They are mostly speed, Sp. Attack eveed and all have u-turn.

I think her's were Attack and sp. Attack eveed so It was easy to out speed them, the Gengar was my biggest problem though she kept it as a revenge killer.

  • @TyrellMcClaren LOL you think we do this legit lolololol

  • @powerpiginc Some of us do. It's more fun that way.

  • "Ok I'll just go watch some porn or something." lol made my night! XD

  • shaymin is a good core because its cute....seems like a good enough reason

  • is electabuzz/shedninja good revenge killers?

  • Your infernape has no priority move which makes it useless against a dancing Dragonite which often has extremespeed.

  • Why don't you link the resources in your description?

    That's elementary.

  • @SilverTongueTied thanks for the advise and it has 31 attack and defense ivs, plus 30 special defense ivs. So it is kind of bulky. And when i am done my team, do u want to have a wifi battle? thanks again

  • What do u think about this set: Blazikan with adamant nature 252 speed and attack evs blaze kick, rock slide, sky uppercut, and ariel ace. It is sweeping the battle subway but I am not ready to battle on wi-fi. Do u think it is a good set for a sweeper. Oh and it has the ability speed boost. Thanks

  • @MrMudkip74 seeing how Blaziken needs to live up to it's uber tier competition, I suggest switching out aerial ace with swords dance, so you can boost it's strenght, and aerial ace doesn't really add any notable coverage. In addition, I would use flare blitz over blaze kick because it's more powerful and more accurate. Sky uppercut is fine, but for more power you could try high jump kick. It's risky if your opponent has a ghost type or protect though, so uppercut is a safer option.

  • Uber abuser? I think so...

  • @airsoftgamer121 they are not uber.

  • @airsoftgamer121 He isn't abusing UBER pokémon... These Pokémon are allowed in standard battles...

  • @airsoftgamer121 Your a pokemon noob who doesnt know the difference between uber and legendary? I think so...

  • @airsoftgamer121 theres only 2 ubers

  • @airsoftgamer121 its just an example

  • @airsoftgamer121 Heatran and Suicune? THAT is uber abuse? Excuse me while I switch in my special wall Lugia that is essentially a blissey who does more then 100 damage and doesn't get insta gibbed by physical attacks.

Excuse me while I throw in one of the 50 billion duo type fighting pokemon that can melt Heatran and pretty much toss Suicune over a mountain.

  • you have a nice team man and a cool stratagy but in your examples u used one wrong element more than one legendary ppl prepare 4 legendaries so i only use the main story (but sadly my zekrom is banned from global :( ) because other cheaters (like i used toi be)use like 4 high level legendary pokemon

  • Flygon cant learn overheat

  • @TheSquirrelWith he said "but I'm going to go with Infernape"

  • I keep getting destroyed in the super single subway line, any pointers? Current team: Scrafty holding: wide lens ability: shed skin moves: faint attack, crunch, brick break, hi jump kick Mamoswine holding: soft sand ability: snow cloak (should I have hail?) moves: ice fang, ice beam, bulldoze, earthquake Emolga holding: none (does flying gem come back after use in the subway?) ability: static moves: spark, thunderbolt, aerial ace, acrobatics
  • @meteormanmike for a start stop using only attacking moves

  • :40 online? what is that??

  • Very helpful and informative. I didn't know where to begin with competitive battles and what not, but this video is really well made. Thanks Faladran.

  • Very good. I hate the people that just say to spam good attacks or defensive moves. You actually explain and give examples. And I never use common stuff, I do well with the un expected pokemon. Thanks for the tips.

  • my only problem with this kid is his voice. if u stop sounding like you have a stick up your ass, youll do great. good job and good info. thanks!

  • Using sludge bomb with gengar works well for me. It still gets STAB and a lot of people switch in shaymin late game thinking I only know shadow ball and such.

  • I like how you explained how to build a team well, with pretty good examples.

I've never used common pokemon, and i have well over 5000 games of experience, with at least a 60 - 65% win ratio.

I like how you set up how to build a good team without saying, "just spam good ou types" which is what i usually see on smogon.

  • Stop using legendaries/events. -.-

  • Someone rate this team!

dragonite (my sweeper :) ) waterfall, fire punch, dragon claw, dragon dance

Lucario (special set) aura sphere, extremespeed (i know its physical) dragon pulse, shadow ball

Haxorus earthquake, aerial ace, dragon claw, outrage

Porygon z tri attack, psychic, charge beam, dark pulse

metagross bullet punch, earthquake, zen headbutt, meteor mash (thinking of switching that one out)

milotic scald, recover, ice beam, toxic

  • I paid more attention to this than my Algebra class.

  • @enriquejose17 I actually took friggin notes D:

  • @enriquejose17 yeah but you're actually interested in Pokemon, not algebra.

  • PMP short for either Pokemon Mosh Pit or Pimp.

  • im actually copying this team minus one pokemon for my p.o team >.<

  • who thinks in the future that poison should lower spatk the way burn lower phyatk

  • trying to figure out a glue pokemon any suggestions of which pokemon with the moves plzz and thanks :D

  • Can someone please rate my team? 'Preciate it.

    Mienshao

    Rotom(Normal Form)

    Milotic

    Chandelure

    Whimsicott

    Swellow

It's a bit vague but it's just a general evaluation.

  • my team is 3 sableyes and 3 spiritomb ;)

  • Maybe you can rate my team (BTW it's RU Tier)?: Steelix (SR + Custap Explosion) Accelgor (Spikes) Drapion (Crit Hax + Toxic Spikes) Clefable (Special Wall with Trick Flame Orb & Wish Protect) Archeops (Flying Gem + U-Turn) Porygon-Z (Scarf) Some notes: -Is U-Turn useful on Archeops, or should I give it HP Ice? - Does Accelgor have a chance set up 3 layers (with Swagger)? - Are there mayor weaknesses, and if so, could Porygon-Z cover them? - Is Toxic Spikes smart? (Clefable is the only staller).
  • @PokeMoshPit Your coyotte508? o.O

  • @TheKillerDragon9999 do you po battle ?

  • @TheSeriousScizor Yes I do

  • @TheKillerDragon9999 wanna battle ? pm me if intrested

  • this is the first time ive watched your videos and i really rnjoyed it

but i think that a core should be able to cover up the leader of group by an effect like a wobufett or a mr mime

anyways i will try this, the perfect idea to include my aggron

  • 2 steel and 2 fires in your team.

The roles you mention are fine, but you should try to use a little synergy in your team f

This team will have an Hard time against Choice scarf Krookodile it kan KO atleast 4 of your poks with the right combination, your only counter for it would be Suicune. although Krooko is not popular in OU, if it crosses you, it can kill you.

  • @Omegamanuel This team was made for forth generation.

  • so when is shoddy battle gonna be updated to 5th gen?

  • @GrumpyCantelopes

Specs Rotom-H wrecks that team. Also quite weak to Jolteon. No Spinner, no rocks, no spin blocker. Synergy isn't everything, you have to focus on making your team work together (Sorry for the stupid sentence, but lack of a better word).

  • @Shockeled idk what the movesets are, but bliss can use rocks and tentacruel is also a good spinner. I admit that the lack of a spinblocker hurts stall teams but it seems to be a decent team imo

  • 4th gen stall team YAYZ

    Blissey

    Skarmory

    Leafeon

    Weezing

    Tentacruel

    Suicune

  • The guy that made u wait sounded like gary

  • @GeorgeAmigo dude! i miss those days!

  • My team is:

    Gigalith

    Eviolite dusclops

    rotom cut

    Whimsicott

    Sharpedo

    victini

  • My teams are usually

    Lead

    Physical attacker

    Special attacker

    Mix attacker

    Sweeper

    Cresselia

  • @billandted91320 Lol i got a laugh outta that =P Leader, attack, attack, attack and Cress. I found that funny for some reason. So why did you choose mainly attackers with no walls? (No critisising just wondering, still trying to find my style)

  • @Goldendriger cresselia the best mixed wall and can take nearly any attacks, so hes usually all i need. He can also set up dual screens and paralyze things so all of my attackers can do a lot better

  • 4:06

    Pokemon 3, 2 ,5 ?!

  • @Finnishboyful

    Three THROUGH five. haha

  • can you make a double team builder?

  • @GeorgeAmigo all atk no strat?

  • So formal. Hating it. Better to cut the takes up and only go off bullets. Makes it pleasurable to listen to...

  • Very interesting, i use the method as follows and serves me quite effectively.

    1.lead

    2.offensive sweeper

    3.offensive sweeper

    4.revenge killer/tank

    5.physical wall

    6.special wall

The six pokemon are divided in to two groups of special and physical attackers.

  • What tier is this? Seems mix to me for some reason...

  • ok

  • god when did pokemon become this complecated O_o

  • @Highintheground08

Lulz. Pokemaunz is serious business. You can make it just about as serious as you want...

  • Someone rate my team, please

    - Arcanine

    -Lucario

    -Flygon

    -Luxray

    -Swampert

-( Open Spot ) Usually taken by Steelix or Metang

  • can someone rate this team, its not finished:

    lead- machamp

    core 1- curse tank swampert

    core 2- ferrothorn

    core 3- mix mence

I'm looking for pokemon that can cripple and break walls, anyone got any suggestions.

  • @metroid702 Rattata Bread him to have endeavour and quick attack and throw him a focus sash

  • @GeorgeAmigo lol setting up? psht 4 attacks on everything

  • Awesome Guide dude!

  • I'm really sorry if this sounds stupid... lol but pretty much your entire team falls to Lucario after it sets up a swords dance xP which it probably can set up against you Shaymin seeing as though with only 68 Special attack investment HP fire probably won't be doing enough. Actually suicune outspeeds and can rape it with hydro pump... you know, screw whatever i just said, I'm pretty sure you know wtf your talking about xD

  • can you tell me if this is a good team

    lead: serperior

    lead s: arcanine

    core 1: terrakion

    core 2: rotom

    core 3:galvantula

    glue:hydreigon

  • @pokemonpwner5 2 questions : what sets do have on serperior and arcanine? and what rotom form do u use? if u answer ill tell if its good(in my opinion obviously)

  • What I would like is a guide to reaching this competitive design. This includes how to use pokesav, then put this onto a DS game and then the best way to find wifi battles.

It's all very well and good knowing how to make a team, but I have no idea if you need any extra equipment or programmes for getting your designed team to the DS card ready for battles. Can anyone help?

  • @mikemike8000 download pokegen and find poke selector on google

  • What's good lead support for gliscor

  • Nice guide! U ROCK! (not being sarcastic lol)

Can u tell me if its good or bad, dun worry, if its bad ill just fix it.

LEAD - Ferrothorn (stealth rock, spikes, explosion, rollout)

LEAD S - Shuckle (power split, rollout, rest, withdraw)

Core 1 - Lilligant (petal dance, quiver dance, mega drain, - )

Core 2 - Hydregion (surf, flamethrower, draco meteor, earthquake)

Core 3 - Cresselia ( calmmind, moonlight, psychic, icebeam)

Glue - darkrai (calmmind, darkvoid, dark pulse, dream eater)

  • @LilTylerPT lololol darkrai

  • @LilTylerPT Darkrai and Cresselia are banned. I'd suggest replacing them with Alakazam/Trick Room Reuniclus and Gengar, respectively. Shuckle has horrible defenses when using Power Split, and his speed and HP are far low to make him useful. Perhaps a revenge killing Donphan (Ice Shard is a must) would fill in here.

  • @08perryj Since when was Cress banned?

  • @08perryj @victini493 >< cress is Ru

  • Dude how about weather countering teams?? right now thats the 'trend' and is sooo overpowered.. Any ways to counter them without using weather teams of your own??

  • @tsubasanakagawa cloud nine ability or air lock ability

  • wow! I actually always go in with random pokeys but have always used this format when choosing a team. I honestly did not know how to describe how I set things up. (fail on my part)

Thank you for making this. ^^

  • Thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to do this! I've found it very helpful in creating functioning teams. And to all those people giving crap about how this doesn't work, this video isn't meant to make you win everytime you battle. It's meant to help you learn tips and tricks. The real point of this video is to take the information, and make it your own. In a sense, tweak it so that it works with the way you play. Try that, and be amazed at the wonders you will work. c:

  • @Omniditto Well said!

  • @khatzeye Why sankyuh, Madame. :3

  • @Omniditto Much obliged dear sir! lol

  • do a match with this team

  • , sesmetoad "or whatever it is" with 2 attack and 2 defence moves, and finally the evo of makuhita "i dont know the name :P fail" with also attack and defence moves :D

  • dont listen to this, dont get the pokemon that are ranked the best, i dont mean to be a dick, but get a good team YOU want, but i like to keep my WHOLE team ballenced, incase a screw up horibly, i have atleast 2 attacking moves, and 2 either or, or both defence ( like sub or wall) then a stat lowering move. My team has a Gengar, mostly attack, a alakazam, stat and some attack, typhlosian, attack mostly but 1 stat, glacieon, my defence (has sub and batton pass with 2 state increes moves

  • what about a full eevee team? how would u recomend how to make a successful eevee evolution team

  • @06hawkins first i would say evolving each of the eevee evolutions and then put together a team of eevees u like or ones that would realy help u ex: like vaporeon as a wall, and u could even just raise a eevee and put that on ur team

  • the pokeballs were cool :P

  • lolwat

Where are your walls, your status support, your rapid spinner, reliable recovery move(s), and dismantling strategy (knock off, toxic stall, haze, whirlwind, etc.)? And why are all of your pokes so OP? Dx

I learned the metagame with Lead, Support, a couple of Walls and two attackers with different strategies. This team's entirely dedicated to attacking, with the exception of Leech Seed and Rocks. No T-Wave, WoW, Rapid Spin, recovery... It's tough trying to teach Pokemon. xD

  • @JamesMaims I love when people bitch about walls =P they arnt always needed, and as he said this is an offensive set, so having a wall isnt very offensive

  • @JamesMaims i use this guise myself and thinks its very effective he said this was and offensive team and i used to try fit all those things in my team but quite frankly its impossible i think due to crits and things it more effective to be offensive and make ballsy plays etc imo

  • @JamesMaims Right, because you're such a "Pro" right?

  • @Fayt540 I never said I was pro. But this is a very basic guide to team building. I was just trying to say that there's much more that's involved in making a good team than just what this video talks about. Chill.

  • wats the name of that game that he showed at the begining or is it called pokemon online

  • @BlackAce205 pokemon online

  • I need a more help like somebody to overlook my pokemon and guide me because I can't understand this...

  • u gonna do a wall team advise?

  • How do i change the type of Hidden Power?

  • @LewisWhyatt

    depends on iv's

  • @LewisWhyatt sav

  • Could you show us a battle with this team?

  • @oxXlukassXxo he did

  • Actually, I'm using Reshiram instead of Chandelure. It's either lead 2 or the glue.

  • @darkvulpix77 Reshiram is banned

  • @elitehero775 I went back to Chandelure

  • @elitehero775 i still use it :)

  • Once my DS is working again, my team will will be Gliscor, Gyrados, Golurk, Scizor, Chandelure, and Espeon. Is this good?

  • My wifi team:

Bastiodon, Yanmega, Flareon, Exploud, Crawdaunt, and Gallade

  • smogon isnt working anymore!

  • @spottymicdotty123 It's up now.

  • the suicune should be calm nature not timid

  • That'll be the most OU team possible when tiers come back in. xD
