  • The unseen star: Harry Stoneham on the Hammond organ.

  • Awesome Uke playing! Vale Peter Sellers!

  • Where are they now, these multi-talented greats of yesteryear? If you mentioned Peter Sellers to the geeks who view X Factor, Britains got shit etc., they would wonder who you were talking about, thank god I lived when I did, I have memories and youtube to back them up..

  • I'm a window cleaner and this the anthem of my life.

  • @hihellohowareyou1000 I actually heard about that on Reddit.

  • There are times when ignorance really IS bliss. Sellers was my all-time hero, until I read several books about him, and saw that excellent film of his lfe. You can blame his monsterous egotistical fame chasing mother, but in the end, as a grown man who came from nothing--had nothing, he was unbeleivably selfish, needy, and irrisponsible to his wife and children--and everyone who indulged him and tried to help and support him. Seff destructing--doesn't even come close.

  • HARD TO BELIVE THAT HE HAD 13 HEART ATTACKS

  • God I really admire that he is speaking frankly and candidly about his life...celebrities these days are all about covering everything up. He's a real person! I love Peter Sellers!

  • When I'm pissed I can't even recite Little Jack Horner!

  • In vino veritas!

  • 6:30

  • Sellers the pope

  • 3 STRONZI

  • terrific talent

  • how ever did peter sellers complete a movie...his endless giggling=endless takes etc... !!!

  • Wonderful performance - or would be if it weren't for that first-class prat Parkinson

  • The sad thing is this man was a narcissist, egostistic, violent personality who he broke the life of many people even the life of his children, who did their best with him. And even with this disatrous personality he was a genious a great artist, in some films a wonderful actor. This is the sad thing o P.S.

  • good show

  • i still remembered the band mamas & the papas refused Peter at one of their party!

refused a man like him = someone miss and the word Party = Peter Seller

sorry for my english but Peter Seller was a great man inside and outside ! me too i am a great person with other.

  • I thought that Geoffry Rush played Peter Sellers well, and really portrayed the manic brilliance of him. He desperately wanted to shake off the shackles of Inspector Cluseau.

  • could see downey junior playing him, never saw the geoffery rush one

  • he reminds me of john lennon here

  • @bacala777 ya, i kinda detected a liverpool accent here

  • @bacala777 i was just thinking that. I think lennon listened to the goon show a lot. Must of picked up little quips and mannerisms from it. But even just his nose is like Sellers hah

  • @DominaMaria

I really agree about the John Lennon similarity with Peter Sellers. I always thought htey looked alike and had a similar sense of humor. But I just dicovered the George Formby connection. I always thought that "Polythene Pam" was john doing his Formby impersonation.

Of course we all listened to the Goon Show back in those days in England. So if Sellers was Lennon, then McCartney was Harry Secombe.

  • @Vickram12

Problem was, Lennon had more than a touch of Spike Milligan about him. McCartney was't really like a comedian, Ringo Starr was quite an old-fashioned entertainer compared to the other Beatles.

I see Harrison as more like a Python than a Goon- after all Harrison was great friends with Eric Idle in particular.

  • @anonUK

the beatles wernt as funny as they thought they where or tried to be imo

  • LOL awww i love him :(

  • this is tapping music!

  • He was a giant.

  • Its a crime that we cannot see the whole interview - please put it back!

  • Jennys Father

  • genius

  • I read that he didn't want to do a full on interview, but he seems drunk, so maybe that's why he's talking so much about his failed marriages. It's really sad to see such a talented person so unhappy and depressed.

    R.I.P. Peter Sellers.

  • @theofficerules1 Yeah, it's not so sad when regular people are depressed. Screw them.

  • spectacular. Now HE is a genius!!!

  • dis fooking lad is from a different galaxy born mistakenly on earth. well 13 heart attacks didnt put him down in 2 days , well God's ego was pretty blown apart and decided to put his lights out finally fearing he'd be superseded by Monsieur sellers .

hats off to Peter the one and only of his kind...................................

BON VOYAGE Mr sellers wherever you've reached thus far in this unknown universe................................................

    Ein momente bitte...........

  • wow mad ukulele skills!

  • What a treat - I keep Peter Sellers for rainy days when I need a lift. What a prescription!

  • God Bless the Soul of Mr. Sellers

  • Peter, you miss me!

  • please whom ever has the power, put back up this entire interview and all the other now lost tapes of the genius of mr. sellers!

  • @mattmale most geniuses are

  • How could anyone have NOT had an affair with Sophia Loren?????

  • He didn't, it was all in his head. Read Roger Lewis' biography of Sellers.

  • He sounds drunk!

  • He's not only drunk, he's incredibly lonely. The interviewer tries to save him, but it's so sad. He was a very sad person in real life I think. I think he was happiest when working.

  • @kirk7524875248 The interviewer was actually one of his fondest friends.

  • @Sodacake I'm very happy about that. Peter Sellers is one of the best comics that ever lived! I miss him dearly. That's great to hear. Thanks for telling me about that.

  • @kirk7524875248 Michael Parkinson was the interviewer, best chat show host on British TV, retired now.

  • Comment removed

  • @kirk7524875248

He once confessed in 1978: "There is no me. There used to be a me, but I had it surgically removed". The problem was, he was wearing a horned helmet (claiming to be dressed as Queen Victoria) and talking to Kermit.

Another problem was, he had a great interest in vigorous sex with modelesque blondes (not Muppet related) and a weak heart...

  • @kirk7524875248 that is true from what I know and I am a fan as are most who are familiar with his work, but why should such a funny entertaining person end up lonely and sad? That doesn't make sense to me.

  • @kirk7524875248 he's a beast

  • @kirk7524875248 You and your 27 thumbers didn't even mention that incredible ditty at the end. Lonely my ass. What a man!

  • @kirk7524875248 - wasn't he a virgo, they need to have work to be content, do something worthwhile. it's true, i'd know.

aviary avery i like cleaning windowpane & channelling king henry II too

  • @kirk7524875248

    Indeed!

  • Drunk yes. Lonely, maybe. Funny, yes. This world is a sadder place without his humour!

  • :( this is not gentle...

  • i fecking hate cleaning windows

  • wheres the 4 part interview gone with parkinson why only 1 part left.

    the whole interview was classic.

please someone upload the first 3 parts to this interview....

  • I used to live opposite where Sellers was born. It's a Chinese takeaway now, on Western Parade in Southsea.

  • love the violin ending.

  • what year is this from?

  • I think it's 1974 could be wrong...

  • Peter Sellers is the best! Loved his work in the movie ' The Party ' he says birdie num num LOL

  • Wow, he was born down in southsea, just 40 mins away from me! :D

  • I learnt to play the ukulele because of when i saw this interview on TV.

  • Such an incredible comic genius and mimic. Could do ANY accent - just amazing.

  • such an overrated man

  • DONOTKNOCKGENIUS

  • more layers than an onion, amazing how he talks about his failed marriages, you can actually see the hurt on his face as he shares it with the nation, then he goes on 2 minutes later singing a george formby song!

  • that's some good strumming at the end.

  • Nobody will ever come close to this genius. Timeless comedy and such a normal guy at heart. Lovely clip...
