  • did you use soda ash

  • after each section gets a different color wrap it in clear wrap put it somewhere dark for 10-15 hours then rinse out in bathtub, then put it through a wash cycle, cold water, light tumble.

  • I know everybody is harassing you to see the next step, but I just want to see the finished shirt.

For those looking for more instruction: Dye both sides, wrap in saran wrap and let sit for 8-24 hours, then rinse thoroughly. Wash separately for 2 or 3 washes. On the last separate wash, throw a white rag in with it. if it comes out dyed, wash separately again.

  • this was helpful,thanks

  • does regular spray paint work?

  • @jokervalencia no but you can get fabric dye at the dollar store.

  • so if you put 4 different colors in each part it will turn out like the rainbow swirl? thats what ive been trying to fegure out and cant find

  • yup, 4 different colors on each side = "rainbow swirl" :]

  • @taylorlebaugh yeah it will make a purty rainbow!

  • Hi, do you know if tie dye works on linen garments?

  • @mariabaza I did it to my sheets, turn out perfectly.

  • Is there more?

  • "the cinnamon roll twist"

    love it!

  • shut up

  • Hey wanna see another awesome beetle? Type in "tie dye bug"...I think you will like it!

  • You want to see the ultimate in tie dye?? Type in "tie dye bug" and enjoy!!

  • Some people call it the SPIRAL.

  • wear a dust mask to mix dye and soda ash they can cause cancer in the powder form. let it wear off of your kids bleach is bad for them

  • hippy lol

  • This video is perfect for teaching the spiral tie dye. This is the only instructional video I watched and now I have tons of beautiful tie dye shirts. It's a new favorite hobby.

The tulip tie dye kits work well. :)

  • Please keep in mind that this is an instruction on how to twist the shirt for a very specific tie-dye technique. No instruction is given for anything else.

  • Seems incomplete???

  • This is mis leading sorta,I couldn't really tell, but dot let it bunch up as you spin it on the outside. It causes the dye to sometimes pool into the middle and make gross colors. Plus ive heard that the more rubber bands you use the more perfect the circle/spiral is.

  • yeah i wouldnt mind seeing the next stage

  • tied it i mean*

  • Yeah!! i'm totally confused... :(

  • then what do i do after ive dyed it?

  • wear it!
