  • That opener... WOW! Creepy as hell!

  • muy interesante

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Lovecraft with Barbie Dolls?

  • /////this is brilliant. I wish I had the time and planning to do a H.P. Lovecraft.

  • Excellent! More to come?

  • MORE PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • MOOOOAAAAAAAAARR!

  • I keep coming back to this, and it just captivates me. This is the perfect medium for bringing Lovecraft's weird fiction to the visual realm. It's brilliant!

  • @MrWilum Thanks. I appreciate your comments. Looking back at this, It's hard for me to watch seeing how crude the animation is compared to what I'm doing lately. I'll have to re-visit this story again one day.

  • @misterskuts everybody's gotta start somewhere right

  • this is my favorite nobel from H.P lovecraft because features my favorite character Yog-sothot nice work btw

"Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth"

    man when i read that...

  • Well done. Lovecraft is great. I could definitely do without all the background noise though. Overkill.

  • There is no finer Literature than H. P. Lovecraft, who has been publish'd by Penguin Classics and The Library of America. This video is excellent -- you have superbly captured the horror of the story, the fate of Lavinia, the brutality that is but hinted in Lovecraft's tale.

  • Agreed, Mr Wilum. Let me also highly recommend the three volume Penguin edition, edited by ST Joshi. They're the pride of my bookshelf!

  • Yes -- I've mentioned in my personal vlogs that the Penguin editions are my all-time favourite editions of Lovecraft. Indeed, I carried all three of them with me in Providence as S. T. took a few of us on a walking tour of Lovecraft's homes, Prospect Terrace, the Charles Dexter Ward mansion, &c &c.

  • Wow, that sounds like a very cool tour. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Joshi in 2005 when he was GoH at a small con in Madison.

  • Just reading the book and it's superb. Very dark and interesting characters . I always read the descriptions over again. Fantastic , gory and atmospheric although i seem to picture it in black, grey and white not in colour

  • so, im curious, is the dunwich building in fallout 3 (freaky shit) based on this book?

  • Beats the shiat out of me. Sorry.

  • O well thanks, I recently checked Barnes&Noble for this book but they didnt have it. Why? I mean seriously they have the abortion to literature that is twilight, but they don't have any books (not even my favorite) by H.P. Lovecraft who as you know is the father of the modern horror genre.

  • Try Borders. They have a large selection of Lovecraft, Cthulhu Mythos anthologies and other related matter including a book on Lovecraft in the movies.

  • Thank you you have been a huge help. Also one more thing, Do you believe the rumors of the necronomicon being real? Just asking. :)

  • Who am I to judge what's real and what isn't?

  • @misterskuts

The necronomicon isn't real, although I wish it were. The closest thing to the necronomicon I could find is "codex seraphinianus" check it out, crazy stuff.

  • Not real.

  • Barnes & Noble has two books: "The Call of Cthulhu and Other Dark Tales" and "At the Mountains of Madness and Other Weird Tales"; both are part of the bookstore's classics series.

  • not at the clackamas town center's store, I bought one at powell's bookstore

  • please illuminate

  • @J0HNFR33M4N I just recently picked up a copy of "H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction" from the Barnes & Noble in my area, you should check the store again to see if you can't find a copy of that.

  • Sort of. The altar at the bottom of the dunwich building is something dedicated to the old ones.

Bethesda's nod to a great master of horror.

  • probably

  • wasn't that a book or somthing was it anytihng good init/to it?

  • It's only one of the cornerstone classics of modern horror literature. I urge you to check it out.

  • wtf was that fucken runescape or somethin

  • well that was....eery yet in a good way, how did you do this xD i would look forward to a whole story (havnt checked page yet)

  • wtffffff`????? is it a game!??

  • nice

  • Since YouTube has begun deleting my animations, you probably won't see any more here. When I find a new host, I'll post a link on the Renderosity forums.

  • wow!

    me too! more, please?!!!!

  • Wow very nice would like to see more

  • 1:27 HAWT

  • Excellent work, well done.

  • very well done. I completley agree with the rest of the comments on here. You should definitly doo the whole story

  • This was the first lovecraft story I ever read

  • impressive:) cant agree enough with last poster.. u MUST finish this!!

  • Man,this is awesome!

you must realise the full movie of this.

    5/5

  • This is a very good idea, misterskuts!

  • I thought it was at the time.

  • we need more!!! great job

  • it's lagging :D

  • great short film and this is one my favorite pieces by love craft

  • Thank you again. I'm happy that you enjoy my work.

  • Uber atmospheric! Excellent!

  • Thank you. I think the atmosphere is mostly a result of the excellent music track I found to accompany the animation.

  • Yes, granted, the music powers the scenes, but the weird, statue-like appearance of your characters adds the requisite creepiness. You really captured the Lovecraft spirit!

  • Its a way too short and not the best part...

  • I know. Like I said, it's just fooling around.

  • And now since we have tasted something good, we want more. Please continue the story using this animation.

  • Thanks. I shouldn't say unfortunately, but a number of instructors at my work have seen these animations here on YouTube and now I'm swamped with requests to do films for their classes. I don't know when I'll be able to do my own films again for a while, not that I'm complaining or anything.

  • Wow really nice. Did you intend to show Yog'sothoh too?

  • It looks like a Playstation 2 game. Reminds me of Resident Evil for some reason.

I would cut off my manhood to be able to do stuff like this.

  • This is brilliant! What will it take to get the rest of it animated?

  • LOL. Let's see, time, money, time and money, but not necessarily in that order.

    Skuts

  • Well done!

  • fantastic! hope the rest will come too

  • cool! where's the rest?

  • Very well done.

  • That was freakin' awesome!

  • Everything is so detailed. I love it. Except the walking of Poser models, it looks jerky.

  • Fantastic! I would love to see what the big guy looks like! Keep up the good work.

  • brilliant! more please :)

  • oh man I'm having orgasms watching this animations lolololol. It's like everything I read from Lovercraft is coming to life. GREAT

  • oh my god!!!wow
