I just use any scrap piece of 2x4 I find that looks good. You can use whatever you like though. There are probably pro's and con's for every type of wood. 2x4's are just easy and cheap to come by.

I do it a little different now than in the video. I use a scroll saw first to cut the basic shape, then I use the dremmel tool, like in here, with a sanding drum on it to get the exact shape and thickness.

use regular tech deck trux take a tech deck put it in the middle of you rs clamp it and use a drill press to drill the holes and then counter sink if its too deep.

Yes the half pipe is home made as well. I used 1/4" plywood for the sides and top, 1/4" square dowel rods where there would normally be 2x4's on a real pipe, and construction board for the skate surface. I couldn't find any wood bendable enough at Lowe's so I had to settle for construction board but it works great. And I used iron rods for the coping.

board don't look to good perfomance wise. But I have worked with a dremmel tool trimming out a deck and that shit it's self is pretty fucking hard so craftsmanship wise it is pretty amazing.
