John Illsley, Alan Clark, Hal Lindes, Terry Williams (one of the best drummers in the world) and the God of guitar Mark Knopfler = DIRE STRAITS in 1983 ........ incredible rock and musicians
youtube is great. all these great rare versions of songs. i've never heard this take on this one, but it's been one of my favorites for years. it's great to hear some backstory from mark. thanks for posting!
the quality of the bootleg is not bad, the music is pretty audible, you just hear a lot of audience noise. but it really is a good bootleg. when i downloaded it though, it came in a zipped folder, and when i opened it, it gave my computer a virus. i eventually had to get a new computer, but its definitely worth it if you can find a way around the virus.
being a teenage girl and listening to this i found it romantic in an odd kinda way,and gave me a thing for knoffler.now all growed up still remains in my top five dire straits,of all time.
i found a bootleg version of the official alchemy record from someone who was in the audience, and in the real show they did play the extra songs, i just have no idea why they wee not on the CD.
yes I am aware of the missing songs from the CD but what I was saying is that this audio clip is not from the same show as the official alchemy cd was recorded.....
beautiful! i really like those "jamsessions" the band threw in during gigs from time to time

Maybe on the 25th anniversary of the Alchemy Life CD Mark could release "The Missing Tracks" :) That would be pretty cool.
