Takedowns win fights. Thats just how it is. This fight was close, but Cruz got beat up. Scoring wise, 50-45 is accurate. A knockdown only scores as much as a GSP jab, a single TD, even one with that results in an escape, is worth more than a full minute of dominant strikes. Faber was trying to win a fight instead of win an mma match. I don't like it, but it was the right call.

Something has to be done about what the judges should be looking for in the fight. faber dropped him atleast 3 times in the fight and cuz took him down like7-8 times but that last round faber got back up like nothing happen everytime he got taken down. a fight should be judge on who did the most damage or in this case, who was the most effective fighter. In my opinion i dont care what those judges say. faber won the fight

I believe u got to effective when u complete a takedown in the fight neither guy looked like they were slowing down. It was good fight non the less. (This is my opinion)

Takedowns win fights. Thats just how it is. This fight was close, but Cruz got beat up. Scoring wise, 50-45 is accurate. A knockdown only scores as much as a GSP jab, a single TD, even one with that results in an escape, is worth more than a full minute of dominant strikes. Faber was trying to win a fight instead of win an mma match. I don't like it, but it was the right call.

@TylerTheCreator Seems like if it goes to decision, the guy who gets TD's, even if they were less than meaningless, wins by a huge margin. I was one of the guys defending the judges and scoring system before, but after the last few events, there is no defending it. Something has got to change, MMA's "fastest growing sport" gimmick has already slowed to a creep.

They stay the same but it effects other judges including himself who know that he didn't do a great job in scoring the fights. That's where you're wrong, all 3 judges in the Burton fight were small time to begin with, and all 3 have judged title fights since. Same in mma, the judges have been complained about in almost every event in the UFC since judges have first been used. What change has there been? Which of them has not judged again? The answer to both, is none.

Dominick won by UD. Faber fought with no conviction, it was frustrating to watch, it's almost as if he thought he was winning the fight and didn't go after it. He didn't let his hands go at all. Full credit to Dominick for a great performance and Faber as well for making it a difficult fight. I expected more from Faber to be honest. I think Dominick's Unorthodox style made him hesitant. But he rocked Cruz a few times and didn't try to finish it. What's next for him now?
