  • khoop sunder...agadi praytek shabda mahatvacha asun swa jeevanala attahi lagu hoto....khoop great....

    !!!!!!

  • Pain has nothing to do with male dominance ! It is pure ignorance to think otherwise! We live in a " mard ko Dard nahi hota" society where males are taught to smother their tears and emotions! He is often expected to be a pillar that feels no pain, but deep inside very often he is just as helpless and distraught as a woman would be in the same situation. Pain is universal , it is an equal opportunity "employer" :)

  • emotional song

  • In terms of gazals, Suresh bhat ji is second to none in terms of lyrics. Last verse in this song is just awesome.. Asha ji has put her soul into this song and Sridhar Phadke ji has shown a glimpse into his talent. Amazing song.

  • a very beautiful compostion and a very wonderful song. i love this song very very much. asha ji s' voice is so melodious . thank you very much for uploading this

outstanding and wonderful song. thanks: i haave listen this song many times and i sung along also. i find it very touching.

  • then why are women made to suffer so much when men know about their silent suffering and pain !

ashaji has rendered this poem vey beautifully and hridayanathji again is at his magical best . thanks for another of your gems sir ! a very sad poem but very true !

  • @crazyoldsongs

sorry, the md is sridhar phadke

  • @crazyoldsongs . I think the answer is that not enough men have that empathy yet for women. Most are still stuck up on old patriarchal practices and values in the same way that most elites, male and female, are stuck up on old rank, class and caste systems. These systems are so pernicious that they can also turn men against men and women against women, compounding the problems manifold as we see everyday. We have democratic systems but most of us still lack democratic values.

  • @chamogaa

thank you for really understanding the problem vipan da and answering my query . thanks once again

  • i think pain is universal not just confined to the fair sex or any geographic area ......i often wondered that any poetry which speaks of pain , saddness and such emotions are easily appealed to the listners because we instsntly relate with them.....what i mean is when we are sad and hear a sad melanchony , we get attached to it .probably because during hard times one scouts for support and empathy....but i believe all humans experience suffering and pain and can relate to this master-peice...

  • @bharati100

you are right that pain is universal and all human beings suffer in one way or another ., but i still think the women and children suffer more in this world because of male dominated society which is more in control and has more chance to suppress the weaker sections . if men had more qualities of gentleness and emotional understanding instead of conquering , there would be no war and the world will be a better place to live .

  • thanks for this extremely sensitive poem sir which reflects the anguish and suffering borne by women , especially of the asian subcontinent . isn't it ironic that what women go thru because of self sacrifice to an extreme is so poignantly expressed in this poetry which is written by a male . in fact all our songs in hindi movies ,reflecting the tortured soul or pain or suffering of a woman are written by great ,sensitive poets ,which means they understand about women's silent suffering .

  • I guess we should all accept pain in our life as described by Sureshji Bhatt.....I think its one of his master-piece........Again SJ thnxs for uploading it.

  • While self-sacrifice for others is not confined to women, it remains true that in our culture-- indeed all over Asia-- motherhood and sisterhood have long meant an other-centered personality and its concomitant quality of suffering in silence. Poet Suresh Bhatt has tapped the souls of millions of such women. And AB's moving singing and Sridhar Phadke's direction of the plaintive violin and the flute resonate with every listener's best instincts. Thanks, SJ.

  • @chamogaa ....And excellent translation again, SJ !

  • @chamogaa How do you do it Vipan Ji? You get the essence of the lyrics almost intuitively. I know Marathi is not your language. But you get the understanding of the words better than someone who speaks the language, like me. Thank you for your comment, now I can understand the poem better.

  • @SJisBack . You are generous to a fault, SJ. Fact is, without your fine translations, I would be a kid lost in a forest.
