and yes my first post was meh, was too damn tired, now i checked everything, for i couldn't rember if its was over a thousand megatons or hundreds, turns out to be thousands oh yeah. 1900 x 64= 121600 megatons a second. Sorry trek loses this fight. However I want you to know I own every trek season and i am a fan of both shows but i'm not blind to what franchise has more firepower, however both rock and they shouldn't be vs'ed against eachother.
see thats where your wrong...the Imperial Ships are carrying Turbo Lasers including heavy cannons...the volume of fire that they can deliver would overload the shields and then the hull....how many times have a few shots from Romulìans or Klingons taken down the shields...plus...the 1000 + fighters armed with warheads 1 ISD versus any SF ship...=winner ISD....forget even bring an ISSD...the whole fleet of SF would loose.
Lasers don't affect Federation shields. Federation Shields are also magnetic. Blaster weapons cannot penetrate "magnetic seals" at all. Not to mention, the old Enterprise can destroy cities with just it's phasers, and can even level an M-class planet's surface, as per the Original Series episodes "Mirror, Mirror", and "A Taste of Armageddon". The old Enterprise is 86 years old in Trek time, making it the OUTDATED MODEL.
@llamapi3 actually Imperial weapons are extremely advanced, don't let the fact that they call them "Lasers" fool you, they have virtually nothing in common with the Lasers the Federation are used to.
Also the Federation are used to dealing with Lasers capable of only Kilojoule to Megajoule level energy, while races capable of Gigajoule to Petajoules such as the Feds switch to things like Phasers, Plasma, Disruptors, etc. The Empire/Republic are no different, they just keep calling them Lasers.
@Idazmi7 also it might be called a turbo laser but really its super heated plasma that's is over 250 megatons pre shot. Also a single photon torepedo from trek has the max yield of 24 megatons, so here think of what your weapons could do to an ISD shield jack because an ISD shields are made to withstand multiblasts from turbo lasers! Also why debate over this, both are good franchise which has nothing in common with eachother. Also Plasma is very effective against Star Fleet shields.
@Stephanvonbanhammer Klingon Disruptor Pulses are also super heated plasma, and that stuff is only that effective against 86 year old shields. Torpedoes actually yield 18.4 - 25 ISOtons. (100 megatons = 1 isoton) Your Trek references are screwed.
watch?v=did164yEFx4 - Biggest klingon warship type shooting a non-combat starfleet medical ship. (Klingons suck like that.)
@Idazmi7 Ok i got the math term wrong however. This is very conservative, since 64 cannons are mounted immediately lateral to the command superstructure alone, with scores covering the rest of the hull. However, if we assume there are only 60 cannons, then they must average around 8 million terawatts of firepower each. This is comperable to the detonation of a 1900 Megaton nuclear bomb every second. One turbo laser fires about 1900 megaton a SECOND!
@Dalbert342 while the defiant is the only Starfleet ship who's design is at all practical, It has nowhere near the firepower, speed or shielding to damage even a Corellian Corvette, let alone a Star Destroyer, never mind stand a chance against the Empire as a whole.
The problem is a matter of scale, for one, The Federation is a Type 2 Civilization with 150 member worlds, spanning 8,000 lightyears, The Empire is a Type 3 Civilization with 12,000,000 member worlds, spanning 60,000 lightyears
@Dalbert342 Photon and Quantum Torpedoes are equal to 24 megatons and 48 megatons respectively when fired at a target in space (due to the omnidirectional blast the target only takes that much, the actual yields of the weapons are 48 and 96 megatons, but only through orbital bombardment can you really take advantage of that)
By contrast the Concussion Missiles fired by Slave 1 in Episode 2 were 191 megatons each, shaped charges that direct ALL that yield forwards, making it safer and deadlier.
@Dalbert342 Regular, Imperial II class Star Destroyers are capable of dishing out and taking 800 Teratons every second, for 30 minutes straight before their shields fail (they can fire for much longer, several hours straight at full power before running out of fuel) that Should illustrate the HUGE gap between the Federation and the Empire. Even small (by imperial standards) ships like the Acclamator (which is still larger than a Galaxy Class) can dish out 2.4 Teratons per second.
@Dalbert342 Except Starfleet ships can't do that to engage ships that aren't also at FTL, At least without losing pretty much all their destructive force due to the Inverse Square Law. And considering the sheer firepower and shielding gap there already, any attempt to do so would be a complete waste of torpedoes/phaser fire. Hell even if they didn't lose any of their destructive power they would still run out of torpedoes and burn out their phasers long before the Star Destroyer lost shields.
@johnditmo Milenium Falcon would win, Concussion Missiles > Quantum Torpedoes. And the Falcon's missiles are much larger than Slave 1's missiles. Amusingly the Falcon is only about the size of a Runabout, while the Defiant is slightly bigger than a Corellian Corvette.
1 criticism I have is that the Tie fighter whining sound should be placed over most of the land battle when the ties attack. If the tie attack took place u would hear it allthrough that segment, not just the clips with the fighters. just saying!
The author of this video is a genius! One of the best ST vs SW I've ever watched, and the only one with land battles! And the plot is good too: probably the Empire is trying to seize power of the Ba'ku planet to use the metafasic radiations to heal Vader's old wounds and make him a more powerful Sith.

The Empire as sooo many super weapons, they would be able to wipe the Federation out with absolute ease. Good vid by the way.

@Mutilator57 Not really most of their weapons would be considered inferior aside from the death star.

@llamapi3 Also Imperial/Republic capital ship weapons are capable of Zettajoules and Exajoules, and they are bristling with such weapons systems.
