@Patriksundvik That's a tough thing to quantify... these instruments do have quite a lot of resonance and projection as compared to a lot of guitars out there, but they aren't a boomy dreadnought either... they are really more balanced across the tonal range, but their novel bracing produced a good amount of volume if you need it, and the instruments tend to have more dynamic range than most- they really will let you dig in before they "break up" if that makes sense. In Sound Pure's professional opinion, which 3.5 model would demonstrate the best overall acoustics for a bright and even dynamic response, with the lowest action set-up, in a D-standard tuning? (I wish I could take a trip up to Wisconsin and listen for myself, but I can't. :)
@esgatch McPherson has dealers all over the world. I hope you find a shop to try one! Adirondack and walnut would be an excellent choice for the brightest and clearest tones. We have not had too many 3.5's at the shop yet, so I can't compare it to many others, but I think you would like the one in this video as well. we send guitars out on approval all the time. Let me know if you have any other questions
@CharlieTecno This guitar comes with a custom fit ameritage hardcase with a built-in humidifier. You would definitely want one for an instrument like this!
@JoeFoxMusic Thanks for the comment! That's our friend John Garris, the great flatpicker! We feel very fortunate for John to be nice enough to help demo just some of the guitars that we have available for sale in the Sound Pure Guitar Boutique.
Would be nice if you'd do some fingerpicking in future guitar demonstrations. With flatpicking you always hear the "noise" of the pick, imo not very helpful to evaluate the sound of a good guitar.
@KalleBlom Thanks for the comment. We'll be doing another round of acoustics soon. We'll certainly be including some fingerpicking as well. Please stay tuned...
@stratorarious Yeah, you can just set the bottle in there and use a straw. You don't even have to quit playing! HA. Thanks for the comment. We love the McPherson guitars here at Sound Pure. Let us know if you are interested in one...
i like to use the neve 1073 for my drum, in live recording I bought 2 Vintech i73, I love very much and more for the price and sound, i like the v rack prism pre-amp and eq i sold to racks
We are here to help! Since we are constantly testing microphones, we can only push to youtube a tiny fraction of all of the microphones that we have experience with. We can help you with mic selection, mic placement, preamp pairing, and everything else that does into making a great studio... will shoot you a PM!
Thanks for the words of support. We are really working hard to make these videos the absolute best that they can be (and hopefully turn some of our customers on to the exceptional gear that we represent). If we can help you with your next studio upgrade or guitar purchase, please do give us a call.
