China is building a military that will defend its economic interest around the world as has the U.S. As China grows economically and militarily, it will brush against U.S. interests abroad and their could be tensions as the two nations struggle for scarce resources. The concern with China really has to do with money and foreign investments from american corporations. At this time China really doesn't want hostilities with the U.S., and America is a bit paranoid.

We have no hatre towards our own mother lands. We brought the harmony to this country to this country. The idea of US foreign policy is to spread the harmony to every corner of the world. China is not yet ready to face U.S but in a decade or two, China will definitely surpass U.S Militarily. It's not about Numbers alone that matter, It's about Technology and we know U.S is currently the leader in Technology but give it a decade or two and I would have my bets on China.

@pampooshampoo Uh....not China. As a supporter of Taiwan , I have to admit that the PLA would never back down from a fight . During the Cold War it was mostly China fighting the US and it's Eastern and Western Allies. During the Korean War Chinese forces fought alongside N. korean troops and in Vietnam War they supplied ammo to the N. Vietnamese army prolonging the conflict until US decided to withdraw. Russia did little in Cold War. Note this is coming from a Taiwan supporter.
