@ascoul - I didnt bother because its almost impossible to do without breaking it. if its already broken, then you can simply pull it out, its not hard at that point. You can also buy new lcds with new bezels all installed already.
Thank you very much for the very informative video. Everything was explained, and shown perfectly. Now this is how a dissemble video should be put together, cheers :o)
do you have any suggestions on how to repair a problem i am having - my 9800 will not work when the screen is pushed up at all, the screen stays black and the keypad doesnt work either, my phone will only work when the slider is down and i have to use the touch screen only
@YehItsMyCRF yes if you pull the foam will just rip but be careful. if you do it very carefully you can also get beneath the glue and it will all come out.
Be careful when removing the digitizer screen, mine broke into a million pieces when I forced it out like in the video... Otherwise the video is great!!
Is the LED part of the digitizer or no? I dropped mine and the digitizer cracked and now the blue LED won't go out and obviously I'd like to replace it for as little cost as possible
Now from what it looks like, the bezel from the top slider does not come off like the other one. How do you change that bezel without messing the with LCD screen? I want to change my bezel but from what I have heard if you take out the LCD it's done, you have to replace it...
hey guys, my torch fell from a significant height the other week, it works, but the backlight is out, sometimes it would light up, but when i slide it up or down, it goes out again. any tips? thanks
My 9800 dropped in the sink. I put it in rice immediately. The screen doesn't work but when I plug it into the computer, it registers, allows backup, sync, etc. Can this be cleaned/made to work again and can you guys do it?
This video works great if you are replacing the entire slider unit- digitizer and LCD. I don't think I would have attempted replacing just the digitizer since mine was actually run over by a car and I wasn't sure about the condtion of the LCD... even though everything did still work. The phone is back to it's former glory... thanks for the video.
yo i got a torch and carried it to be be repaired becuz the digitizer screen was cracked up ... the man did the repair but now my headphones only plays on one side dont matter wat headphones i use ...he says wat he changed had notin to do wit the headphones jack .... could u tell me wat might be causing the problem and the solution plezz... i need a reply like asap ........
What is the best way to fix a stuck lock button at the top left corner of the blackberry torch? Mine is stuck and it's not really clicking when I press it now.
Hey. i have a little problem. My torch had it's fire put out temperarily. That's should give you a hint. Because of that, my screen won't lock, won't rotate, and not touch sensitive. Is there any way to fix it, or do i have to replace it? PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!!
I'm not sure wht its called, but the black board with the icons that surround the trackpad? mine keeps on falling off now, my phone has never been dropped, so im thinking it has something to do with when i got it housed to red. When i got it back from getting housed the trackpad looked slightly indented but it didnt look like a big problem. Any suggestions?
@ 5:15, instead of bending the locking clip for the flex, it is a folding lock. lift lightly on the side away from the trackpad and it's a hinged lock. easier to remove and also to lock back down when done. just sayin. :-) not tryin to be a critical prick or anything.
apparently there is a sticker that indicates whether the blackberry has been opened or not, so if something happens to your phone, and you want a new one, they will know that you had it modified by someone that isn't your provider and wont sent you a new one.
Hypothetically, if i were to change the keyboard and/r bezel, would the indicator sticker peel off?
The shutter on the camera of my torch seems to have slipped down. is there any way i can sort this? like when i take a photo, its like only a hazy bottom part of the photo if that makes sense
Dropped a milkshake on my torch. It works fine but the sounds are a bit distorted (kinda static like) and when I use the handset the volume is a bit too low. What can I do????

yea my front slider on my torch has a gap and doesnt stay flat to the back part, my wife thru it against the wall one day and its stayed that way ever since. what do you think it could be?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had my Torch 3 weeks before dropping and shattering the glass. Thanks to your step by step instructions, I was able to replace the glass myself costing a total of $30 including the tiny T1 driver I had to special order.
@guywith2names I have 32gb already filled up and I use torch alot for my job. so I was wondering if the internal memory is a minisd card otherwise I just get a new external storage device.

AWESOME!!! my screen cracked @ days after getting it, i bought the screen but it came with no instructions.......so thank god for this video!!! otherwise there'd be no way i"d be able to do it myself!! now if only i could figure out where the 2 extra screws go...... :-/
Good video, but the first screws are T7, not T6. The T7 does fit much better. I´ve tried to fix the wiggle of the slider, but cannot find any T3 screwdriver.
recently i replaced the trackpad on my torch (beacuse the old one was not working properly) now the trackpad works fine but since i replaced it the 4 front buttons (answer, BB menu, Back, end) all stay lit ALL the time. Even when i power down the phone. Ive tried pulling the battery, restoring the firmware, restoring the settings etc etc) and the button lights just stay lit still. Any suggestions? PLEASE PLEASE REPLY
If I just want to change the front/upper bezel, is it really necessary to remove the LCD from the metal plate? The metal plate is part of the LCD and not of the front bezel, right? Is the bezel only attached to the LCD with the clips you mention or also some kind of adhesive. This is unclear to me. If an adhesive is used, which parts would I need to order to get hold of this adhesive. Is it part of the bezel or LCD? Thanks for help, much appreicated.
Perfect. I just replaced a screen following this. You do need the a T1, T3 and T6 screwdriver, so don't start until you have all 3 like I did the first time.
Hi...is it possible to change the keyboard without separating the two halves...Possibly the question i should have asked first is, is it possible to change the keypad? I am in France at the moment and the phone has come with a French azerty keyboard and i want to change it to a qwerty.
many thanks for your amazing video!...It really is kind of people top post stuff like this.

ok what size is the screw drivers to take the front screen off....i know you get like a guitar pick and then you got to take screws off by the ribbon...what size is it
My slider was stuck at the open position. It looks like something is blocking it from retracting back. There is no physcial damage at all. Can anyone let me know how to fix it? Thanks very much - Andy
you never mentioned taking off the bezel along the lcd screen. My torch is in great conditon but the front bezel is scratched up. I wanna replace it. plz comment
I wouldnt recommend changing your bezel until your LCD breaks because it is stuck on very very well. there are 6 tiny clips on the lcd which you have to unclip and press against the lcd which is very stuck to the steel plate with double sided tape. Once again i say dont do it unless you really need to because an lcd repair will cost about $100-200. but if you must, i recommend heating the back of the lcd slowly to make the tape more viscous, and slowly pry away at it as you do.

Can you post a video of just changing the full housing. The housing around the touchscreen looks really hard to dissemble and one of the last steps but the other part was one of the first things you take off. Thanks
hey man is it possible to tighten the spring that when the phone slides up to show the keyboard that part that goes up you know it gets loose a little can that be tightened?
We also do blackberry customizing with high copy parts, nothing flimsy or cheap. Next day shipping for that or repairs. Best prices available, satisfaction guaranteed!

Can you post a video of just changing the full housing. The housing around the touchscreen looks really hard to dissemble and one of the last steps but the other part was one of the first things you take off. Thanks
