  • how many sets does this guy have??

  • its me or he has problems with the timing?

  • @therevdrummeravenged I think your right. But I do way worse with timing live, just because I try to give off as much energy as I can. He is definitely a hard hitter full of energy, so thats probably why hes off just a tiny bit. Hes still an amazing drummer!

  • @drummaryan yeah hes one of my favorite drummers dont get me wrong, i just noticed that :)

  • @therevdrummeravenged yeah your right though. I got a metronome and hes off just a tiny bit in a part haha. Yeah hes one of my drum idols too haha. I wish he would do more covers! lol

  • Dude i'll buy your snare off you!! :D im dead serious too haha

  • I bet @dynomyck8 is a wetard :) apparenly you know nothing about drums the gods of drumming used four piece kits yeah play jojo mayers stuff or buddy rich stuff and then come talk shit or just dont talk at all its simple if you dont like the video dont watch it dumbasses these days

  • what kinda hair product you use?

  • lol at bishes in audience laughing at you

  • THERE IS A GIRL WHO IS LOOKING AT YOU AND SHE DOESN'T STOP!

  • Where is the LOVE button?

  • Oh please come to Philadelphia!

  • @brandonGH5 , yo dude! Jake is just rockin' another band's C&C kit right there actually...it was rad. But Jake will be getting his SJC kit delivered soon...gonna be fat! Talk soon...(ps: he is bangin' on a skinny custom snare in all these videos though! 9x14)

  • looks like jakey has a new kit...could it be a skinny custom kit?

  • @BrandonGH5 Shine*?

  • @HeineTegtmeier no i was talking to jake a while back, and he was saying that he was going to start building his own drums and calling them skinny custom drums. i was gonna let him build me a kit but sjc offered me a deal for my second kit that i couldnt refuse.

  • @BrandonGH5 OK cool... Do you have pics of your kit and how much did it cost?

  • @HeineTegtmeier well the sjc i have now is in some of my covers on youtube, but the one they are building right now i have no pictures of yet. it cost me 1900.

  • @BrandonGH5 Hey brandon how are you man? I cant wait to see how is going to be your new SJC kit! any clues man? hahaha

  • @dannyss29 hey buddy long time no talk. hope you are doing good. my new sjc is gonna look so sweet dude. be on the look out.

  • @drda94 ROC N SOC

  • What kit is this one? I noticed you on SJC's new artist list. Is this an SJC kit?

  • @dynomyck8 Dude, I know what you're trying to say, but if you've ever been on tour before, believe me, you don't want more than a 4 peice. Because trying to switch kits between sets is a nightmare, especially with more than a 4 peice. Look at Matt Greniers setup, he has 3 stands and a kick. And in the music side of my arguement, I have nothing against bigger sets, even like Terry Bozzio-like sets, just if you're not going to use the extra drums, why have them? All it does is confuse you on stag

  • Hey people I know I said I was going to do my version today. But I took a nap and I overslep.

  • @dynomyck8 11 months later..

  • Jake, I thought that your bass drum head was going to burst the way that you were laying into it! Great playing, bro! Keep it up and good luck with everything.

  • So the trolls need to hit puberty and realize that just because they might have a good drum set doesn't mean they know jack about your playing man, Great Job, I'm sooo stoked for your band, bought this song the other day, y'all are def up and coming!!!

  • Jake bro! much love man, are guys touring? because if you guys come to omaha there are alot of people that will come and see you

  • @truthdrums13 how is it harder to play the same thing you always play over and over? dude thats stupid, it's not harder to do the same thing over and over that you know and have memorized. its harder to make up fills on the fly and stay on beat which i do and on sunday when i do my cover of this song i will show you.

  • Idk who this 15 yr old kid is but strating a fight on a youtube video isnt gonna get people to subscribe to you! And its not how many drums or cymbals that you have that makes you better jake could just have his snare and still kill you! And another thing this thing about how he does the same fill over and over is called playing in the "pocket" its atually harder to play the same thing everynight perfect then to play differnt complicated fills on the fly and get off time and mess up in the song!

  • So good.

  • I remember when this guy covered Misery Business and I subscribed. :)

  • @skyTLSR thats when i subscribed lol

  • nice ! :D

  • Im going to do a drum cover of this song sometime this week subscribe every who disagreed with me and you'll see when i upload.

  • dude you just need to stop talking. the fills arent all the same. there are a wide variety of fills he uses which do compliment the song. he obviously doesn't want/need another tom or else he would have ordered one. end of story

  • @dynomyck8 The reason that TRC songs are similar on drums is because the drums are not the main focus the song, simply the backbone. How could he make it and any more exciting w/ one more tom? It's not necessary in the least bit, that's stupid.. But since you're the expert on drumming lets see you do a drum cover of this song with your expanded kit and see you spice it up and make it cool!

  • @JJigg09 I never said I'm an expert but I will do a drum I will probaly on Sunday

  • Listen I'm saying that the two same toms and basically the same fills over and over again are boring. Because in most of the songs by TRC are exactly the same. I've listened to every song the have available and they are all the freaking same. Thats why when I saw this video I said it was boring because every song same fills and if he added at least one more tom he could add more variety. And about complimenting the music the same fills over and over don't do that. It makes it boring.

  • @dynomyck8 I really don't see how adding an extra tom would add to variety. There's already a good variety of fills in this song and what will one more tom do...add a slightly lower pitch for a few hits of a roll? Songs in this genre generally don't have a lot of variety, it's the way of the music. And as for the comment about it being easy if you have cases - an extra floor tom could be the difference between a van and having to hire a trailer for gear.

  • Why is everyone talking about Paramore?

By the way, I've always wanted to say that you always look uncomfortable playing

  • i need that seat.

  • @DontStopScreaming101 i love that throne. its sooo comfy

  • hey now, i have the same drum throne! woohoo

  • FUCK. i'm from san jose and you were at the Avalon while i'm in college in LA. god damn it.

but it's nice to know we've played on the same stage at one point or another

  • I don't get why everyone is hating on big sets. It's all about personal preference. Personally I prefer bigger sets just because I love being able to have more tones and features and textures to play with. But if I were to ever tour. I would definitely cut down for easier transport. But some great drummers, like Neil Peart or Terry Bozzio have used big sets. And other great drummers, like Buddy Rich have used small sets. Its all preference. Either way, Skinny Jake rocks :)

  • @DeadLTBow i completely agree with youl but this dynomyck8 guy is making it out to seem that you CANNOT play drums unless you have a million toms and cymbals, he's just plain ignorant.. just my opinion

  • @AdamSiren Oh, okay. Then let the flames begin for him :P

  • I love this type of drumming

  • @dynomyck8 Well according to your channel all of your favorite bands have pretty much the exact same set up as Jake. I guess what you're saying is that all your favorite bands (NOWADAYS) sound the same? That must be borng for you..

  • @JJigg09 No live Zac from Paramore set is a 7 piece live, the drummer from Cartel 6 piece live, and so on.

  • @dynomyck8 Zac isnt even in Paramore anymore, and when he tored with them he ALWAYS used a 4 or 5 piece drum kit. anyway, drumming is not about who has more drums, or who can play fills better than who. the drummer keeps time, and jake is awesome in this video. he puts so much energy into his playing, and if you watch his other videos you'll see that he's an insanely good drummer. so yeah. you should probably think next time before you say something stupid.

  • @unANIMATOR Final Riot was 6 piece, and have watched his other videos. I'm talking specifically about this video the fills are boring just like in the original when the lead sing was the drummer. I already know Jake is a good drummer but in this video the fills are boring and DON'T compliment the music enough because they are all that same.

  • @dynomyck8 God damn - kid, you're fucking annoying. Just shut up, no one agrees with you. Jake has a 4-piece kit; so what? Quit generalizing, not all 4-piece kit players are boring. Who cares if the fills are similar or the same? What ever suits the music, suits the music. This isn't a drum solo. He isn't a trained jazz/progressive drummer.

And it doesn't matter what size of kit you have, it's what you do with it. I can shred with just a floor tom, snare and kick, plus a high hat no problem.

  • @dynomyck8 You are a retard. Straight up. If you know what you are doing, and know how to drum, you can be super creative with a four piece. If you can do rudiments, polyrhythms, linear fills etc you can be really creative. Sure an 9 piece kit will give you more options, but a four piece kit is more than competent for any style of music. I would much rather own a four piece, and have the kit challenge me with fills than a 9 piece and have more options. Don't start something you can't finish kid

  • what camera are you using jake?? its really good quality considering how loud it would be there! :) great playing btw =]

  • the more toms the better! wheres the side snare??!!

  • @dynomyck8 a concept of a band is to make everything sound as a whole not just only the drums stand out. and nowadays drummers are starting to sound clean...so if you don't like that then your looking at the wrong video.

  • Your videos make me happy :)

  • one word "SICK" and also I'm digging the new kit

  • Comment removed

  • Boring, this song is boring. Your fills and stuff are too easy, seriously and a floor tom and a single tom, you can't get too creative with that. Seriously put some more toms on the set I realize that is the going style nowadays but seriously every person with a set like fills sound the same.

  • @dynomyck8 He stays on time perfectly a drummer isen't supposed to have amazing fills. It's EXTREMELY hard to find a drummer that can even keep time these days cause guys worry about how fast they can play.

  • @oBIGxREDo Dude what drummers do you know? I've been playing since I was 5 I'm 15 now, and it's extremlely easy to stay on beat if you know what you're doing.

  • @dynomyck8 I've been playing sence I was 5 too and I'm 16. I stay on time exactly like Jake does.

I'm basically just trying to say.. Not everyone wants a like 8 piece kit. I love playing on 4 pieces. Sure having an 8 piece is nice but it all depends on the style of music you play.. This you could say I guess is like Punk/Pop Rock.

So he gets about a measure or half a measure to take a fill then he's back to his groove so an 8 piece would be pointless almost.

  • @dynomyck8 do you seriously think this dude cares if you think his drumming is boring? He stays in time, and with touring, who wants to haul around an 8 piece drum set? playing small gigs will there be room for an 8 piece drum set? Is an 8 piece necessary to play pop/punk music? no dude, no one cares how long you've been playing, you clearly have stuff to learn so don't prade around like you know everything. This dudes beast and 7 out of 10 drummers I'm sure play a 4 piece

  • @920connor Cobus, Tony Royster Jr, Aaron Spears etc.... They don't use 4 pieces and they use all of their set. And it's not that much for an 8 piece trust me I know what I'm talking about. If you have drum cases it's not that hard.

  • @dynomyck8 IT DOESN"T MATTER!! A DRUMMER USES WHAT THEY WANT!!

  • @dynomyck8 Stop judging about drummers setup. Every drummer plays what they want to play. Not everyone thinks like u.

  • @dynomyck8 everybody with a 4 piece set has fills that sound the same? wow buddy, maybe you should check out some drummers and actually think about what the fuck your talking about!! not a fan of this band but the very first Avenged Album was recorded on a 4 piece drum kit, look at Protest the Hero, their drummer plays a 4 piece and his fills are insane and don't sound the same... your honestly the dumbest person i've ever read a comment from.. get your facts straight before you start talkin

  • @AdamSiren You know I bet I've been playing longer than you, and I'm talking about these new age bands buddy so STFU. Next you're obviously the dumb one because I said in my first comment "nowadays" and since you're so stupid that means I'm talking about this day and age. Again I'm going to say this almost all drummers NOWADAYS who play a 4 piece fills sound the same.

  • @dynomyck8 i honestly hope you are joking. 4 pieces= much more creativity. using what you have as a 4 piece kit definilty makes you more creative as a drummer. plus the drummer is supposed to compliment the music they are playing, not make it as technically difficult as possible with crazy fills and a cage of drums and 3 gong drums that are all tuned to the same note. youre just sounding stupid and quit trolling

  • @kevmac858 Dude a fill is a compliment, there guitarist are good. And doing boring fills over and over doesn't compliment the music. What's so cool about doing the same fills over and over every single song?

  • @dynomyck8 well you are obviously not trained at all to recognize good drumming. based on the style of music (pop punk/punk) and the way the song sounds, a drummer makes the necessary fill that would best accompany the song. thats why you dont hear jake playing a blast beat on a song like this on a monster set. he plays what makes it sound best, not to impress others with his kit size

  • @kevmac858 Dude I'm not saying he needs a monster set I'm saying he needs to at least 1 more tom because it sounds better. And better fills would make it sound best.

  • @dynomyck8 You are one douchey drummer than.

  • @dynomyck8 yeah, ok there buddy, lets see your videos, i've been touring/playing wayyyyyyyy longer then you have, you fucking douche bag, and look at how many young drummer like yourself have these HUUUUUUUUUGEEEE kits and only use 2 or 3 toms out of the 12 that they have... all the greats played small 4/5 pieces back in the day, so you're obviously the dumb one lol... im glad you are such a famous 15 year old drummer... your changing music as we know it... lol!!!!!!!!!

  • @AdamSiren You don't have videos at all.

  • @AdamSiren Completely agree with you

  • @dynomyck8 obviously you're an extremely experienced professional drummer thats toured around the world with your 800 piece kit, right? you don't know what your talking about so please shut up. bands dont want a drum solo in every song, they want the BEAT. thats what the drums are for and jake did a fine job. when drummers like you join a band it sound like everyone is playing their own thing and sounds like crap. just dont talk about what you dont understand.

  • @spencerdukestv I haven't toured but I have played with several different kit's and styles. I do what I'm talking about I bet I've been playing longer than you. If you've got 10 years plus playing then I'll listen. But if you've only been playing for a few years then shut up. And most 4 piece players are boring and do the same fills every song. And you've never heard me play, so you don't know what I play like. And I'm not talking about doing crazy fills every song. Just doing somethin different

  • @dynomyck8 you make my head hurt

  • Awesome :)

Did you break a stick at 2:23 ? made it look smooth!

  • Awesome :)
