If punk is not dangerous for the authority and the system, then it's just fashion, stupit trash art for lifestyle stupid bastards. Long live the varukers. Long live the real libertarian revolution. Fuck racists, capitalists, nationalists, sexists , fashists, homophobs , and stalinists.
even though i saw this interview once in 84 this i can still sing this in my head today at 40 lol. i remember imitating the guys say "if punk were a fashion, punk would be dead", it's a cult figure, you change through **?** bands but if you know what you believe in what your doin', you'll stay a Punk. p.s. F-disco, fashion & you.
even though i saw this interview once in 84 this i can still sing this in my head today at 40 lol. i remember imitating the guys say "if punk were a fashion, punk would be dead", it's a cult fiqure, you change through **** bands but if you know what your doin', you'll stay a Punk. p.s. F-disco, fashion & you.
I don't mean to ruin fun but if your thinking of soulja boy so much to write about him you seem like a hater....I dot like him...but this is the varukers song..
"as good as he sounds in discharge"? I'm sorry, I like Rat, The Varukers and Discharge....but nowadays Discharge sounds like absolute shit. I wouldn't pay to see them live anymore, I made that mistake before.
well ok i may have been too nice on that one..i personally prefer old discharge , and rat sounds better in varukers. Punk is sad these days Amebix was $12 bucks, who's making the money?? I remember when punk shows were no more than usually 6$ bucks.
You're the one sounding like a snobby fucking elitist, asshole. You think punks live by fucking rules? Go make your own fucking rulebook on how punks "should" and "shouldn't" be. Fucking nazi.
All I'm saying is that I sold out. As someone who is now older I understand that social networking and the internet has killed punk rock. It's taken the voice away from the movement by giving everyone in the world a voice. Punk is now drowned out as just another genre of music and fashion.
As much as I can't fucking stand it, punk is dead. But that doesn't mean I don't go out to shows and still fucking scream and mosh with some frustrated brothers.
Blah blah blah blah. I'm not backpedaling on anything I said, homeboy. Elitism doesn't make you cool, either. A scene can't be built on a troop of upper-crusty's, so don't get ahead of yourself.
If internet didn't exist, I would never have known 90 % of punks groups that I listen nowaday. If internet didn't exist, anarcho-punk, d-beat or d-beat wouldn't be spread so much. I would never known bands like Nausea, Crass, A//Political, Dirt, Deviated Instinct, Antisect, Chaos UK, The Varukers, Discharge, Disorder, The Disrupters, Doom, Dogsflesh...
What happened to going to local indie record stores and supporting the bands you like instead of stealing their music? I mean if it took the internet for you to find those bands then good for you, but please go buy all of that music on your computer that isn't what you paid for.
It's the first thing I'd like to do, just to support the artists, but I'm french. In France, UK82 cds are hard to find, even if I go to an old vinyls stores. And on their officials websites, they sell their cds in £ or dollars, so I can't pay.
I agree with this, i used to write a shit load of bands all over the world in the 80's who'd write back, Like BGK, CCM, Negazione, Disorder etc.. but now it's hard to even get an email from some people. I still love all the old punk bands though there's too many copy cat bands and watered down d beat bands these days. If i'm gonna listen to d beat i'll listen to Discharge not some copy cat band.
This was filmed in the Moonlight Club in West Hampstead, London in 1983, I was 17 - (that's me saying Cult Figure). I remember sleeping in a box outside the club that night coz we didn't have anywhere else to go. That was on the keeping punk alive tour, we played graves end red lion the night after. That was hardcore back then. No rider, no hotel, no money, all on the dole. just did for the love of it and a belief that we were better than being thatchers children. viva la roc. brians - drummer
Yea rember we went into the 24 hour laundry to try and get warm, and were kicked out about 4 in the morning...lol
The gig at graves end was f*&^%ing brill, it was a small pub and loads of people were standing outside on the pavement and the road just listening to the band cos it was so packed inside, there was more out side than in. lol.
Nice to here ya Brians, what ya doin now? married?,kids? still playin?.. love Bruce.
Okay look, I'm a big fan of early 80's hardcore and thrash and punk, but come on man.
You have an internet connection and a YouTube account. All the real punks I know pretty much live in the gutter and don't have cell phones or any of that shit. I certainly don't have the balls to call myself a punk and be that kind of hypocrite. But I'm sure glad that there are some out there that do.
Good on ya, mate, for being a first class poser wank.
now i definitely dont know as much punk history as you guys prob do
but i do believe that if the varukers, or any punk group wants to have a lasting effect, they at least should make music that is good to everyone. after all, why do we listen to music in the first place. political views is prob. not on the top of the list
Punk was before my town, looks fun as shit. Ah well, no dub in 1984.
