YR: Neil discovers that he's not Lily's father

To be perfectly honest, I didn't really watch Y&R on a regular basis during the year that Davetta was in the role. I take back what I said in my previous post. She was actually a better actress than I remember. I saw a few of her early episodes when she first joined the show and wasn't too impressed at that time, however, the acting did improve. Maybe the show should have stuck with her. Christal Khalil still comes across as a teenager, rather than a woman/mother who has survived cancer.

CK is a good actress, however, from the beginning, I never felt she was right for the role of Lily. In those rare moments when Lily is written as strong, confident and self-assured, CK the actress still comes across as much too vunerable and uncertain. CK is a better actress than Davetta. Davetta was ok and maybe her acting would have improved had the show stuck with her. I wasn't surprised when Davetta was let go, however, I was surprised when CK was brought back.

Just recently, history repeated itself when Sofia got pregnant not knowing if she'd gotten pregnant by her fiance, Malcolm or from a 1 night stand with Neil. The baby was born, it was a boy, Sofia named him Moses. The test revealed that Moses' father is Neil. Neil got to be Lily's dad all because Malcolm and Dru waited until she was grown up to find out if Malcolm was her father and now Neil gets Moses because Neil's the father. It hurts Malcolm because Neil got to be the dad BOTH times!

i miss Davetta as Lily. It wasn't until she took over as Lily that I became interested in the character. CK is a pretty girl and a decent actress, but I don't buy her for a moment as Drucilla's daughter. She's got no fire, no spark. Her Lily is just blah and a doormat. Davetta's Lily's was much more believable as someone who could have been raised by Drucilla. When she left so did my interest in Lily as a character.

Daniel and Lily now have another thing in common. They both have fathers who know they aren't their biological fathers because the mothers kept the truth from them.

Daniel's father, Danny Romaloti found out that he isn't Daniel's biological father, Brian Hamilton(a man from Phyllis' past) is. Phyllis knew it from the start and kept it from Danny. Danny found out on his own. Daniel knows the truth, too.

But Danny and Neil will always be "DAD" to Daniel and Lily.

Nick was trying to get back with Sharon when the test was done and even after he said he was the father, he still wanted Sharon back. Everyone knew that if Jack was the father, the problem would be solved. Nick would not steal another man's baby.

That music played when Neil realizes that Malcolm's Lily's father and he's not really illustrates how Neil's world has just had a huge collapse. Neil finds out a secret that just about everyone knows, except him. Poor man. That would almost kill someone. Well, he's still related to Lily by blood even if he isn't her father. Besides a lot of uncles have been the fatherly figures in their niece's and nephew's lives. Benjamin Hendrickson(Hal from ATWT)was to his niece and nephew.

Dru didn't know Malcolm was Lily's father right away, she only found out a year ago. But Neil pointed out that Dru still knew all these years that there was always a possibility that Malcolm was the father and that she kept this from Lily too! Neil was still mad about that. Drucilla believed in her heart that Neil was Lily's father but in the end, it looks like it was just wishful thinking.

For 16 years, Dru, Malcolm and Olivia were the only ones who knew that Malcolm MIGHT be Lily's father.

Neil shouldn't feel too bad. As Daniel later told Neil, even though Malcom is Lily's biological father, Neil is still biologically related to Lily. That was some comfort to Neil. By blood Malcom her father and Neil is her uncle, but by heart it's the other way around.

Don't listen FoxxyDeeopatra. Take when they were testing Deliah's paternity for example. They tested a sample of Phillip III's dna(believed to be Cane's) against Deliah's and it said that most of the markers matched but some didn't because Billy(Phillip III's half brother) is Deliah's father.

If Neil is Lily's father, they would have said that some of the markers in Malcolm's dna didn't match Lily's because Malcolm is Neil's half brother. I don't know which parent they both share, though.
