Fonts? You DO know you can change the fonts for the UI right? In many of the elements with the OS since *probably* Windows 95 thru to Windows 7... I know you are an Apple fanboi, but it seems you claim to be an IT guru. But yet you don't do your homework at all it seems. Windows 7 is run on the same kernel as Vista, so it essentially IS an incremental upgrade. Also, you made a remark about not showing Windows 7 because Microsoft doesn't pay you... does Apple pay you?

Due to the mass production of software and hardware being created for computers running the Microsoft OS, its wise to assume occasionally hardware will be incompatible.
Sadly, you cannot expect an OS to 'figure out' how to work hardware that it knows nothing of. I admit, Linux is great for many things, mostly office and free computer use, sadly not gaming adapted.
Compatible hardware is down to the company, there is so much more hardware for Windows than Apple.
I would never ever buy a Touch screen. First off who wants fingerprint all over your screen. Hell I eat, and drink when I'm on my computer. Next thing I hate about touch screen computer is the DVD drive and everything is built into the computer monitors the means if one thing goes wrong you have to send the whole computer in to get fixed. I'm a true computer geek I like fixing thing myself ... Why are most of the new features in Windows , and Mac OS feature I seen in Linux, and BSD years ago ?

First of all, if you know anything about PC's you'd know that you can get better performance, for less money and be just as if not MORE stable then an apple. I use apples at school and have built my own PC's for 12 years and if I had to count how many times the macs crashed vs my pc I'd be rich.

my problem with your analogy is that it assumes better build quality in apple, but that is not true. BMW's are built well, and frankly not as overpriced as one might think. They offer a lot of performance for the dollar, where as a for fiesta is just not.
I would say that Apple is more like a Landrover and PC is more like a Jeep. Jeeps run circles around landrover, are better built but cost pennies compared to landrovers. Lanrovers are pretty, just like apple. That is all.

Touch screen has been available on Windows for almost a decade now. I used to run three monitors side by side that were all touch-screens on the XP platform.

@LitlleDinho becuase you arent using the compability capacity that 7 have it can do anything and run anything that even windows 98 can and you can always use the xp mode with a 64 bit pc and you will run everything
In my opinion i'd say that xp is better for gaming , its the ultimate gaming system at the moment, windows 7 is good for lifestyle and such orther, It is also good for gaming but has lower fps which sucks :P
@WowMoviesEurope I agree. I have XP x64 and 7 x64 both professional installed on my desktop and I always use XP for gaming and 3d animation/photoshop stuff and will log on 7 if I'm just listening to music or lounging around for the day.
I so love my new Windows 7 when it tells me I'm not authorized to access my own folders! Or when it takes three steps to arrange icons. Or when I can't figure out how to search individual folders anymore. Or when I'm not authorized to save wherever I want. Or when I must contact the admin to proceed, and I'm logged in as the admin. Or when my programs from XP are not compatible with W7 (which will cost me over $1k to replace). Or when ...well, you get the picture.

for me windows 7 unltimate works 25% faster than xp :D and im running a core 2 duo 2.8ghz processor,2gb ddr3 ram,and 300gb hd, and i have a nvidia 9800GT 512mb videocard. so it runs faster than xp on good systems but slower on older ones
I had Windows 7 and it was terrible, slightly better then Vista but nothing really impressive. XP sucks too, or well, all Windows sucks. Linux is the only right way to go.
I used the Windows 7 90-day trial, and froze it at 90 days. It's a LOT better than the Vista Home Basic that used to be on that laptop.. NOTE: Vista Basic on THAT Laptop.

and literally, my framerates have shot up..
every single game i've tried with windows 7 has gave me faster load screens, smoother gameplay, higher framerates.. and even when minimizing and maxamizing fullscreen programs, windows 7 is soo much faster
Crysis runs without compatibility mode, clearer (full DX10) and with higher framerates
games i play include MW2 L4D1 and 2 CSS World of Warcraft and many more W7 FTW

use win7 home premium ^^ if you were running vista hp you dont need anything bigger. unless you plan to upgrade to more than 12gb ram and multiple cpus. ^^ there is only a little "extra" differents between home premium and the bigger versions of win7. ultimate for example does not contain the games ^^ its a money waste unless you want to upgrade your hardware above the things i mentioned above.

yeah, screen savers are made to stop image burning on the screen, but...
CRT's are out of date now, with LCD's you don't have to wait for the image to brighten, so using a Screensaver is kinda pointless, just set the LCD to switch off when inactive for 5 mins (or so)

In my opinion i'd say that xp is better for gaming , its the ultimate gaming system at the moment, windows 7 is good for lifestyle and such orther, It is also good for gaming but has lower fps which sucks :P

@WowMoviesEurope I agree. I have XP x64 and 7 x64 both professional installed on my desktop and I always use XP for gaming and 3d animation/photoshop stuff and will log on 7 if I'm just listening to music or lounging around for the day.

I so love my new Windows 7 when it tells me I'm not authorized to access my own folders! Or when it takes three steps to arrange icons. Or when I can't figure out how to search individual folders anymore. Or when I'm not authorized to save wherever I want. Or when I must contact the admin to proceed, and I'm logged in as the admin. Or when my programs from XP are not compatible with W7 (which will cost me over $1k to replace). Or when ...well, you get the picture.

for me windows 7 unltimate works 25% faster than xp :D and im running a core 2 duo 2.8ghz processor,2gb ddr3 ram,and 300gb hd, and i have a nvidia 9800GT 512mb videocard. so it runs faster than xp on good systems but slower on older ones

I had Windows 7 and it was terrible, slightly better then Vista but nothing really impressive. XP sucks too, or well, all Windows sucks. Linux is the only right way to go.

I used the Windows 7 90-day trial, and froze it at 90 days. It's a LOT better than the Vista Home Basic that used to be on that laptop.. NOTE: Vista Basic on THAT Laptop.

I had Windows XP Media Center Edition and upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
and literally, my framerates have shot up..
every single game i've tried with windows 7 has gave me faster load screens, smoother gameplay, higher framerates.. and even when minimizing and maxamizing fullscreen programs, windows 7 is soo much faster
Crysis runs without compatibility mode, clearer (full DX10) and with higher framerates
games i play include MW2 L4D1 and 2 CSS World of Warcraft and many more W7 FTW

I'm using windows 7 for about 2 months now.. absolutely no problems, much much much faster, plays games smoother, supports DX11, has virtual machine XP mode
you're a typical fanboy, in a couple of years when you finally scrape enough money to upgrade, or are forced to buy a new PC with windows 7, you'll be rooting it on, saying "Windows 8 sucks.. W7 FTW"

use win7 home premium ^^ if you were running vista hp you dont need anything bigger. unless you plan to upgrade to more than 12gb ram and multiple cpus. ^^ there is only a little "extra" differents between home premium and the bigger versions of win7. ultimate for example does not contain the games ^^ its a money waste unless you want to upgrade your hardware above the things i mentioned above.
get home premium. you can download a programm to test the pc compatibility, from the microsoft site

yeah, screen savers are made to stop image burning on the screen, but...
CRT's are out of date now, with LCD's you don't have to wait for the image to brighten, so using a Screensaver is kinda pointless, just set the LCD to switch off when inactive for 5 mins (or so)
