I'm no bears fan at all, but Payton has to be the greatest back of all time. He never shied away from contact, but went thru the defenders. It was amazing to watch what this man would do to defenders. Simply amazing !!

yeah. The records really only reflect on the quality of an O line/length of a season. For the longest time walter peyton was the only reason to show up to bear's games, because even when the team struggled he always was good. He jumped over people, did that long stride, and just absolutely trucked people. The best of all time

Walter by far the greatest. Thats it theres no debate. But if I did think that some one could be as good as him it could be LT. I do think LT will break most of his records. But can LT block like Walter, play with the same fire in his heart, never show boating of any kind? NO Thats why no matter what LT or Barry Sanders or Emmit Smith or Jim Brown did Walter, Sweetness wil always be the greatest. 2nd to none but LT might tie him stats wise.
