I prefer my HK USP Expert .45 to my Glock 32 for a few reasons. 1. Caliber- I like the feel of .45 better than .357 sig . 2. Comfort- Although I don't consider my Glock uncomfortable, it doesn't fit my hand (particularly over long shooting sessions) as well as my HK. 3. Manual of arms- I like the set up of my V1 USP. I like the safety/decocker (it's 2nd nature to me), I prefer hammer fired pistols, I prefer the mag release. 4. Ability to shoot- I just shoot my HK so well and love shooting it
@williamthevolk I DON'T hate Glock at all! Wouldn't have purchased it if I hated it. It's simple and like you said, has a utilitarian aesthetic and feel. I like it. I just don't love it. And my decision really comes down to shooting it. I trust my life to all my guns, in particular my Glock and HK (and Colt Python). But my HK is my bedside gun as well as my favorite range gun. Glock's are slick and clean looking but HK is a better fit for me personally. HK just feels "right" in my hand.
@williamthevolk There is very much to be said about how a gun feels in your hand. There are just some guns out there that fit each individual person's grip better than others do. I definitely believe in a gun needing to feel "right" in my hand!
@williamthevolk to address the Sig thing: I've never owned one. Don't plan on owning one (unless it's an X-five but I can justify spending that much or a little more on something else). The Sig P series was not to my liking. I did not like the controls, nor did I like the feel of them. I also had several frustrating range sessions with their 1911's. I don't dislike Sig; and some swear by them. But just not for me. There's a video on here by Sonsofliberty65 of a 220 Match Elite that is gorgeous.
I dont' hate Glocks. I far prefer them to other striker fired polymer guns like the M&P and XD(m). But, they are far from my favorite. They just aren't refined enough for my personal taste. However, I think their simple and low profile design makes for a nice CCW.
@williamthevolk my sentiments exactly. I have a G32. I don't shoot it much bc the other guns I have just fit me better. It's a personal decision. I don't buy things I don't like. Period. That said, i'm not "connected" to my Glock.
Another damn good vid. I love Glocks, although I think there is a ton of other outstanding stuff out there and that is a great thing. All the competition pushes everyone to improve. I agree that Glocks can always be improved & tweaked, but the company is constantly doing that. I chose Glock for a combo of simplicity, reliability, versatility - they're available in just about every caliber and size. And I actually think they're good-looking guns in a minimalist way.
Love Glocks man! Wasn't always so. Used to be a strict 1911 guy. Kimbers only. Never had one that did not have at least one failure to fire. Granted, most of these were when new. The last straw was when my $1200 ultra cdp II had a failure to feed every third round because it had been carried and not cleaned for a few months. Not the fault of the pistol, I know, but I bought TWO Glocks for that price, and am quite confident that even if I NEVER clean them, they will still fire! Thanks man!!
@jeepnicc Wow man, that is really interesting. I know that 1911's can require some break in. But you are right, that is what is great about a GLOCK, you can trust it!
Something that functions this flawlessly and looks so simplistic is a thing of beauty. Many guns look (or are based) on Glocks but they can't run like a Glock. The only pistol I would bet my life on.
Glock 23 was my first pistol I ever bought. With no handgun experience I took it to the range and put rounds into a size of a softball 60 feet doing slow fire. A lot of the rounds hit the same spot there was almost no bullet spread. I have liked my glock ever since. Havent shot anything more accurate than that.
you know what i didnt like glocks at first in fact i use to hate them but now i'm starting to like them a lot and i'm thinking of getting a glock 21 sf pretty soon like with in a month maybe.. now i can say i'm falling in love with them..!!!
Great video, Mike. I have 3 Glocks myself and they are outstanding pistols. There are others like the M&P, FNP and SR9 that rally for my attention though! Form and function glock wins but I do prefer the feel and look of the others! Thanks for sharing.
Glocks rock my agency has 40 officers and we were issued Glocks 10 years ago and I haven't heard of one issue with all those rounds fired at the range. As a matter of fact were replacing our gen3 with gen4 here shortly. The best part is we can purchase our old ones cheap. Bottom line they are proven reliable. Hard to argue bout that.
Do you think the Gen 4's are a better fit in the hand then the Gen 3's because I love the Glock and its reputation, but every time I go into the store to purchase a Gen 3 Glock it just doesn't feel as good as the Xdm do it my hand.
@Opsenforcer I do think the gen 4's are a better fit in the hand. They still have the Glock grip angle though, so If you prefer the Xdm I would just go with it.
Glocks rock! - with a lighter than stock trigger, 3 dot sights, and an extended mag release - all easy fixes. It's hard to beat thier magazines and muliple pistols for one holster
@guitarmikey2 What are a few upgrades that aren't available to any other common handgun?
An optional safety like Smith Wesson M&P offers would have no affect on you so why would say you don't want it...Personally if i owned Glock i would at lest give my customers the option...
@COLT45keith I never said the upgrades you could do to a glock are not common to other handguns, not sure what you are trying to get at. I like the fact that Glock has no manual safety because it promotes safe gun handling. Like a said, it's just my preference, I totally understand there are different opinions out there.
@guitarmikey2 So does carrying a 1911 with the safety off...Guess my thought is with all the money GLOCK has made "and its a lot" Glock could offer more than they do for they're consumers...
I'm not anti-Glock, but I'm not crazy in love with them like everyone else seems to be. To me they're a wonderful weapon, but they don't do anything to excite me, I don't look at one and start drooling like I do a Sig. (My non-conformist streak is also against them because everyone else loves them so much). That being said, I think I didn't enjoy shooting the Glock because of the grip angle. I want to a more traditional angle and see what happens.
Glocks have so many fanbois that I wanted to not like them. I bought one because it was in Resident Evil Code Veronica and had no idea the fanboyizm Glocks have.
The longer I've owned one though the more I like it. I want one in 40 or 10mm
Dude... Glocks Rock!!! I have a G19, G21, G26, G36. I am looking to get the G20 (10MM). That's another sweet pistol. My first pistol was the G19. I love that pistol. Very comfortable to shoot. That's the gun that my wife trained with. I cant say anything bad about them. If I have to leave in a hurry.... I'm taking one of my glocks with me.
Im with you man! I love Glocks! I own a 23 and 27. I love them for mostly the same reasons. The reliability, the simplicity, and the durability are second to none. Awesome vid man!
Glock Rocks!!!! I wouldn't trade my G23 Gen 4 for an Ed Brown, Wilson, or any other high priced gun.Acccuracy is in the beholders' hand! I can shoot any gun equally as well, but unlike any other gun I've had, my Glock has NEVER malfunctioned.
I'm not a Glockhead. I own a few Glocks and have owned many of them. I have owned Sig's, HK's, Walther's, S&W, Many XD's, Taurus, Hi-Points, FN's and others I've probably forgotten. I thought Glocks were ugly when I first saw them and didn't get into them until I went through the police academy. That is when I started loving the Glock. Do I think it's the best handgun? No, but it is one of the best at it's price point. I don't think any collection is complete w/o a Glock. God bless brother.
@guitarmikey2 Thanks for asking, and yes I did. Got a few new firearms: XD40 V10 in OD green, Taurus 444 Ultra-lite in 44Mag, and a S&W 15-22 AR. I sold my AK-74 and my S&W 4043 to get the other things. Next in line is either the FNX 9 or another Glock. God bless brother.
The only other gun company with nearly the same number on my wish list as Glock is H&K: HK45, HK45c, USP Compact .40, USP Compact 45, USP 9mm, USP 45, P30, P30L, and Mark 23.
If I could, I'd own at least 10 Glocks!!!!!!! I only have a 17 Gen 4 at the moment, but I absolutely love it. Wish List: 21, 27, 23, 19, 22, 26, 34, 30, and 36. LOVE GLOCKS!
I am a big Glock fan for all the reasons you mentioned and then some!!! I have 4 Glocks, a G17, G20, G27, and a G29. I love that I can buy a 9mm barrel for my g27 for a 100 bucks from lone wolf and turn my G27 into a G26. I have 22 firearms, Sig, FNH, S&W, Wilson Combat, Springfield XDM, Ruger, you name it. Glock is at the top of my list!!!.
i want a glock 20sf... please santa... that really is the only glock i want to purchase at this time. im Happy with my fnp 45 usg i got cause the glock in 45 just didnt feel comfortable.
Only have one Glock (G32, with a glock 23 barrel also) but it is my favorite handgun for sure. I absolutely love the Glock design...it's simple, fully functional, reliable as the day is long, never a problem with it, clean attractive lines. I'm one of the few who thinks Glocks are actually attractive...so clean looking without funky designs and crazy lines, i.e. XDs and M&Ps. I want a G30SF next and a G33 (with 40 and 9 barrel) someday. Happy Turkey Day!!
I am not at all a Glock fan. I started with Sigs, and find them to be a far superior firearm. They are more accurate, more reliable, and just as easy to break down. There is a reason that the Secret Service, ATF, and Navy SEALS all prefer Sig Sauer. Not to mention that my Glock 30, yes, I own a Glock and am not just blindly hateful towards Glock, runs well with hollow points, but not with ball ammo.
@cachamelion Boooooo! Come on everybody join in with me, booooo! Haha, just kidding man. I don't agree that Sigs are "far superior" but I certainly think they are very high quality firearms. I want to get one (or five) myself! Actually I'm secretly hoping that over Thanksgiving I get to go to the range with my father in law and shoot his Sig, lol. Thanks very much for sharing your honest opinion and I hope you have a great Turkey day!
@cachamelion Glock pistols are hard to beat, when you consider value, performance, reliability, and versatility they can match up against any self defense pistol. Never had a jam with a Glock pistol and shot all kinds of ammo. Sig Sauer wishes they could get that type a track record with out charging you a grand.
@pjicleanair420 I will not argue that Glocks are a great value, but from head to head personal experience, the Sigs are flat out better. I have three sigs and one glock. The three sigs have a combined 0 jams after thousands of rounds, the Glock begins to jam every time I fire more than fifty rounds through it. Not to mention that Sig can compete with Glock as far as price goes now as they have the SP2022 and the P250. The P250 is one of the best guns on the market when versatility is concerned
Mikey, I also love glocks and have many(17,19,23,27,30sf,36, and 21). I have many other brand and love them as well but there is just something about the glock that means business. Simple, reliable, operator friendly and cost effective. I don't see how it can be beat with all that being said. Oh, and I also have the FNP 9 and the gun is absolutely amazing. I paid $409(new) and got 4 mags with it. The FNP is my only hammer/striker gun but it makes me want more. Hmmmm what to buy next.
@chrizzis77 Dude, you are loaded up on the glocks! That's great to hear coming from you about the FNP. I've been looking at the FNX, I like the idea of a really lightweight fullsize 9 to carry during the winter. Yes, it's always about what one to get next isn't it? Lol. Take care buddy and have a great Thanksgiving!
My first gun was a gen 2 glock17. I like the way they look and every gun I look at get compare to the glock. My carry gun for now is the glock 38 in 45gap.Plans to buy a G19,G17.
Ther's an old saying and it goes like this: simplicity is a virtue all it own! that's it, simplicity. it works when asked to, all the bells and whistles are not needed, it looks good in a "get the job" sort of way, cleans up real simple and nice, and isn't over-priced like so many of it's competitors.
My current carry is a G26, so that tells you right there where my opinion lies. In the full frame pistol I perfer the M&P though...yes you can love them both...lol...great vid Brother Happy Thanksgiving!
@DocTacDad The M&P's really do feel great in hand. The only one I've shot was the .45 and it was really sweet. Thanks for commenting and you have a great Thanksgiving as well sir!
I chose a XD9sc over a Glock 26, I just felt like the Springfield's trigger was better... in my opinion. I do however really dig full sized Glocks... probably my next (x3) Gun, there's a 1911, SU-16C coming first.
Do you think the Glock aftermarket is larger than the 1911 aftermarket??
@shuttersandtriggers The XDsc's are very nice. I had one in .40 as my second handgun ever. You know I think the 1911 aftermarket probably is a little bigger. I was thinking that right after I made the video haha. Thanks Aaron, and Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm digging that desert tan framed Glock. I love my HK USP. It fits my hand like a glove. Just the right angle, the right texturing, and it feels almost like a 9mm with the recoil management system it has. Never shot a Glock, but I hope to own one in the future.
I don't like glocks but I respect them. They are more than worth the money in terms of durability and reliability. I don't like the grip angle, slide release, and most of them aren't visually pleasing to me...except the OD green ones, love those. I do however like the construction of the magazines and aftermarket accessories for them. I prefer 1911's, SIG's, and HK's. Yes the guns I like aren't exactly in my budget, but that's just what I like. Have a great thanksgiving Mikey =)
@BeanDip0913 I think your gripes with the glock are shared with you by almost all people who don't like them. It really just comes down to preference I think. Maybe that's why I don't like the others as much, because they are out of my price range! haha. Happy Thanksgiving buddy!
My first glock was a glock 26... After that got a gen 3 glock 20 then a glock 30sf then a gen4 23 ... And just recently got a gen4 31 so yeah I would say I love glocks too
Great vid, Mikey. Don't own a Glock myself but have shot quite a few of them and never had any issue with them. They are definitely a great example of "simple" being "effective".
@MrJimbofox I'm always intruiged by your Rugers. I have shot the SR9c and I thought it was great. But for some reason, when it comes down to it, I always want to go with what I'm familiar with. Thanks for watching and commenting!
My favorite pistol! I own a 17,23 and a 30 and I love them so much!! I put an M&P on layaway and the day I went to get it I walk out of the gun shop with my 17!! Lol I just love them!! Take care God bless!!
Only ever fired the subcompact .40. They look kind of ugly to me but as far as function (minus the recoil spring scare in the initial 4th gen 9mm) they work great. Won't say that i'll never own one but I wouldn't consider them perfect by any means
@KrazyCash Thanks for your honest opinion! You need to shoot something other than the Glock 27 though. I love that pistol, but in my opinion, it is the worst shooting glock. Thanks for watching and commenting and Happy Thanksgiving!
@guitarmikey2 Oh I agree, I don't care for the subcompacts. I perfer something that fills my hand. Maybe one day i'll get to try one out. No problemo man. Like these "ask the viewer" type videos. Happy Thanksgiving

@dbower921 Well said!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
I'm not a Glockhead. I own a few Glocks and have owned many of them. I have owned Sig's, HK's, Walther's, S&W, Many XD's, Taurus, Hi-Points, FN's and others I've probably forgotten. I thought Glocks were ugly when I first saw them and didn't get into them until I went through the police academy. That is when I started loving the Glock. Do I think it's the best handgun? No, but it is one of the best at it's price point. I don't think any collection is complete w/o a Glock. God bless brother.
fumasterchu12 3 months ago
@fumasterchu12 Come on man, you know Glocks are the best, just admit it haha. Thanks for watching man, hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
@guitarmikey2 Thanks for asking, and yes I did. Got a few new firearms: XD40 V10 in OD green, Taurus 444 Ultra-lite in 44Mag, and a S&W 15-22 AR. I sold my AK-74 and my S&W 4043 to get the other things. Next in line is either the FNX 9 or another Glock. God bless brother.

The best thing is that with glock u got metal rubbing against plastic = no rust, less maintenance, light weight

cfeder45 3 months ago

@052187ful Thanks man! Yes sir! Happy Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
I am not at all a Glock fan. I started with Sigs, and find them to be a far superior firearm. They are more accurate, more reliable, and just as easy to break down. There is a reason that the Secret Service, ATF, and Navy SEALS all prefer Sig Sauer. Not to mention that my Glock 30, yes, I own a Glock and am not just blindly hateful towards Glock, runs well with hollow points, but not with ball ammo.
cachamelion 3 months ago
@cachamelion Boooooo! Come on everybody join in with me, booooo! Haha, just kidding man. I don't agree that Sigs are "far superior" but I certainly think they are very high quality firearms. I want to get one (or five) myself! Actually I'm secretly hoping that over Thanksgiving I get to go to the range with my father in law and shoot his Sig, lol. Thanks very much for sharing your honest opinion and I hope you have a great Turkey day!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
@guitarmikey2 You too. Enjoy football, food, and range time.
cachamelion 3 months ago
@cachamelion Glock pistols are hard to beat, when you consider value, performance, reliability, and versatility they can match up against any self defense pistol. Never had a jam with a Glock pistol and shot all kinds of ammo. Sig Sauer wishes they could get that type a track record with out charging you a grand.
pjicleanair420 3 months ago

Hmmmm what to buy next.
chrizzis77 3 months ago
@chrizzis77 Dude, you are loaded up on the glocks! That's great to hear coming from you about the FNP. I've been looking at the FNX, I like the idea of a really lightweight fullsize 9 to carry during the winter. Yes, it's always about what one to get next isn't it? Lol. Take care buddy and have a great Thanksgiving!

My first gun was a gen 2 glock17. I like the way they look and every gun I look at get compare to the glock. My carry gun for now is the glock 38 in 45gap.Plans to buy a G19,G17.
staglefty 3 months ago
@staglefty I have a tendency to compare all other polymer pistols to the glock as well. It's a disease haha. Thanks for watching! Happy Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
Ther's an old saying and it goes like this: simplicity is a virtue all it own! that's it, simplicity. it works when asked to, all the bells and whistles are not needed, it looks good in a "get the job" sort of way, cleans up real simple and nice, and isn't over-priced like so many of it's competitors.
theviamike 3 months ago
@theviamike Very well said sir, thanks for watching and commenting and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
My current carry is a G26, so that tells you right there where my opinion lies. In the full frame pistol I perfer the M&P though...yes you can love them both...lol...great vid Brother Happy Thanksgiving!
DocTacDad 3 months ago
@DocTacDad The M&P's really do feel great in hand. The only one I've shot was the .45 and it was really sweet. Thanks for commenting and you have a great Thanksgiving as well sir!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
I chose a XD9sc over a Glock 26, I just felt like the Springfield's trigger was better... in my opinion. I do however really dig full sized Glocks... probably my next (x3) Gun, there's a 1911, SU-16C coming first.
Do you think the Glock aftermarket is larger than the 1911 aftermarket??
-Aaron
shuttersandtriggers 3 months ago
@shuttersandtriggers The XDsc's are very nice. I had one in .40 as my second handgun ever. You know I think the 1911 aftermarket probably is a little bigger. I was thinking that right after I made the video haha. Thanks Aaron, and Happy Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
I'm digging that desert tan framed Glock. I love my HK USP. It fits my hand like a glove. Just the right angle, the right texturing, and it feels almost like a 9mm with the recoil management system it has. Never shot a Glock, but I hope to own one in the future.
TheWoodburners 3 months ago
@TheWoodburners Thanks man, I'm sure the USP is sweet! I've always wanted to try one out. Happy Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
I don't like glocks but I respect them. They are more than worth the money in terms of durability and reliability. I don't like the grip angle, slide release, and most of them aren't visually pleasing to me...except the OD green ones, love those. I do however like the construction of the magazines and aftermarket accessories for them. I prefer 1911's, SIG's, and HK's. Yes the guns I like aren't exactly in my budget, but that's just what I like. Have a great thanksgiving Mikey =)
BeanDip0913 3 months ago
@BeanDip0913 I think your gripes with the glock are shared with you by almost all people who don't like them. It really just comes down to preference I think. Maybe that's why I don't like the others as much, because they are out of my price range! haha. Happy Thanksgiving buddy!

Great vid, Mikey. Don't own a Glock myself but have shot quite a few of them and never had any issue with them. They are definitely a great example of "simple" being "effective".
MrJimbofox 3 months ago

My favorite pistol! I own a 17,23 and a 30 and I love them so much!! I put an M&P on layaway and the day I went to get it I walk out of the gun shop with my 17!! Lol I just love them!! Take care God bless!!

Only ever fired the subcompact .40. They look kind of ugly to me but as far as function (minus the recoil spring scare in the initial 4th gen 9mm) they work great. Won't say that i'll never own one but I wouldn't consider them perfect by any means
KrazyCash 3 months ago
@KrazyCash Thanks for your honest opinion! You need to shoot something other than the Glock 27 though. I love that pistol, but in my opinion, it is the worst shooting glock. Thanks for watching and commenting and Happy Thanksgiving!
guitarmikey2 3 months ago
@guitarmikey2 Oh I agree, I don't care for the subcompacts. I perfer something that fills my hand. Maybe one day i'll get to try one out. No problemo man. Like these "ask the viewer" type videos. Happy Thanksgiving
