  • a+ just beautiful

  • Probably the best version of this song. Love those quiet harmonies in the 2nd chorus

  • SIMPLESMENTE DIVINO.

VOZES COMO ESTAS NOS ELEVAM AO CÉU.

  • =) Translation look up wikipedia ftw! allthough you should'nt use wikipedia as source. in most common idea it has a general good idea.

  • Pokarm dla duszy!

  • The English translation on screen is incorrect. Halfbloodravenclaw is correct

  • zie het lam Gods dat de zonde wegneemt, Jesus Christ saves and our Hope in the world.

  • this song is so beautiful!!!! its sad ha but beautiful becuz the kids sung it in it made it sound awesome!!!! this my time learning a latin song wow!!! people think I'm weird espcially my family!!! i said ohh well keep thinking it!!!! this music...awesome music!!!!! <3

  • Who is author of this nice piece? Thanx

  • @Arjunai Andrew Lloyd Webber made the composition. You can look up the lyrics.

  • "Pie Jesu is a motet derived from the final couplet of the Dies irae and often included in musical settings of the Requiem Mass." (From Wikipedia) Lloyd Weber made one arrangement of it but the piece is originally a part of the Requiem Mass as per the above

  • 'pie' in this context means: loving, merciful, good, kind, sweet

"Eternal Rest grant unto them, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace, Amen." - is a prayer for the dead we - as Catholics - say. It had been said for many hundreds of years. Requiem masses (Masses for the dead) have been offered by the Catholic Church since almost the beginning of Christianity. Christians have always prayed for the dead. There are many musical variations for Requiem Masses.

  • wow, their voices blew me away. This version and the one that Andrew Johnston did for Britains got talent are the best versions

  • wow, their voices blew me away

  • Pie Jesu - Pius Jesus

Qui tollis peccata mundi - Who takes away the sins of the world

Dona eis requiem -Grant them rest

    Sempiternam - for all time

  • A beautiful and well done interpretation.....

  • If you love melodic religious music try Pie Jesu by Spirit Of The Age. It's a new setting of these beautiful words and has a real healing quality.

  • When I listen something like this I wish to be religious...Amazing voices, it seems they are just from heaven.

  • Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ. What amazing, angelic voices.

  • This is the most beautiful song in the whole world!:(

  • I'm not sure if either of us are incorrect, but (not trying to start anything at all, awesome song; we're doing it) I was told the translation was:

    Pie Jesu- Holy Jesus

Qui tollis peccata mundi- (same thing minus the you)

Dona eis requiem- Give us rest

    Sempiternam- Eternal

and Agnus Dei is the same.

Not trying to be mean, I was just pointing that out. Awesome video. :D

  • @HalfBloodRavenclaw Thank you...I made the video with lyrics in haste and did not put much research on the lyrics as I just googled it to get results as no one else had Angelis's version of this song on YT.

  • @GrandMasterGuess Actually the Lyrics are perfectly written, nice job. Pie is "Piedad" in spanish so is mercy. Qui tollis peccata mundi in spanish is "quita el pecado de todo el mundo" You who takes away the sins of the world.

Agnus Dei in spanish "Cordero de Dios" Lamb of God. So is correct. I sing this at my university and we have to learn it in latin, spanish and english..so is correct. Nice video!!

  • @IDATAMHANE Hey thanks for the confirmation...

  • @HalfBloodRavenclaw sorry to say but your wrong the translation is correct.

  • @HalfBloodRavenclaw literal latin meaning of pie jesu is Pious Jesus which is the same as devote, faithful, and holy. I thought Dona eis requiem ment Give to them Rest.

  • @HalfBloodRavenclaw agnus dei = lamb of God : )

  • @HalfBloodRavenclaw Don't try to interpret Latin if you don't know it!

    Pie Jesu--Kind Jesus

Qui tolllis peccata mundi: Who takes away the sins of the world

Dona eis requiem: Give them rest

    Sempiternam: Eterally

  • The music is better than the main thing; the voices.. too much ecco... what a load of bs.

  • hey, i have uploaded a video of myself singing this song, please listen to it and let me know what you think :)

  • makes me cry every time wow

  • Very nice version. With the words help us to understand.

  • My favorite version! This gives me goosebumps!

  • a gentle and passionate rendition. Just beautiful........

  • 癒される・・・

  • W. definitely did not combine the 'Agnus Dei' and the Kyrie. Webber followed the great tradition of taking sung prayers from the Mass and setting them to his own music. Mozart, Verdi and many others have set the whole 'Dies Irae' prayer to beautiful music. 'Dies Irae' means 'day of wrath'. Also it is prayed and sung at all Requiem Masses said at funerals in the Classic Roman rite.

  • 'Pie ' means 'sweet' . Andrew Lloyd Webber took the last verse of the 'Dies Irae', a Latin prayer for the dead which is said or sung on All Souls Day every November 2 in the Extraordinary rite Latin Mass.

  • I'm a 16 year old girl and like the rest I adore Katy Perry & Lady Gaga. But this song gave me goosebumbps, it's absolutely beautiful.

  • Very nice piece of music.

Tthe translation you posted is not entirely correct. Pie Jesu is more commonly translated as "Sweet Jesus." Kyrie eleison is "Lord have Mercy", not Pie Jesu. :)

Lloyd Webber combined the Angus Dei and the Pie Jesu text and lots of folks tend to have errors in the translation.

Thanks for posting this wonderful music.

    Peace.

  • Your aunt is most definitely smiling!

  • My aunt died today and I want to dedicate this song to her. I picked Angelis because I believe children have the purest of voices.

  • @shmoopsy87 Your aunt is most definitely smiling! And, I'm sure, so is my dear Aunt Lucy! <3

  • Comment removed

  • @3kidzzful Thank you for your heart warming comment. I'm also sure we will see them again!

  • Breathtakingly beautiful. It overwhelms me.

  • do they still excist...... this is beautifull!!!!!!!

  • do they still excist......

  • I've heard this song sung by opera singers and it just doesn't sound right sung that way. The tune is so pure and angelic that it almost needs a voice with no vibrato or affect...this version is so pure....stunning...Katharine Jenkins also does a great version.

  • Beautiful. Thank you so much.

  • CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT ARE THEY DOING THESE DAY????

    R THEY SINGING OR STOPPED???

  • @95miracle hopefully dead

  • @ColdstreamGds tht is so mean lol

  • @fleurdelyselfique aww they disband tht is so sad but vox angelis is so awesome thx 4 the info

  • Most beautiful thing that i hace EVER heard, makes me want to cry every time.

    John

  • HOW LOVELY IS THY DWELLING PLACE! O, LORD!! THIS IS LOVELY!!

  • Tende Piedade Jesus

  • I thought Pie Jesu meant Merciful Jesus. . .

  • This is the version Jackie Evancho sang!

  • THE BEST VERSION I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!

  • You don't have to be religious to enjoy beautiful music !!

  • are angelis still around?

  • @JenseninBrizo I heard that because of age restrictions and travel problems they were forced to split?

  • AMAZING...PIE JESU ANGELIS VERSION...

  • I really like this version of it :)

Pie Jesu is an amazing song!

  • Every single time when I listen to this song, I automaticly get goose-bumps. It's just something...so pure...so beautiful. You could just listen to this song and wonder how can something so maginificent even exist.

  • one of my dreams has fallen along with this song.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!!

  • idk about everyone else, but i think this is best sung by children, it seems more innocent and better that way.

  • @jeremy915111 i totally agree,its like listing 2 angels, love it,,

  • i am sure someone else must have mentioned this, but in your lyrics you have a finger slip, isn't it agnus dei not angus ;-)

  • @ciesemul Alrighty I fixed it

  • @GrandMasterGuess you may also have already realised but Pie Jesu means sweet Jesus, the Greek Kyrie eleison is usually used for Lord have mercy in a liturgical context.

  • @GrandMasterGuess

It was commemorating all the black angus that have died for our dinner.

  • @ciesemul What's wrong with Angus ...that was my Dads' name ;-)

  • @ciesemul and also Pie Jesu does not mean Lord have Mercy

  • @dezangerman

afaik i never said it did ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @oihhow it isn't my description old chap, i did not upload this video ;-)

  • Only Jesus Christ is the Way the Truth and the Life. Jesus IS OUR REEdeemer.

  • Love it , what a song

  • Oh my gosh!!! I love it

  • Не плохо, только не очень красиво спускаются вниз, больно уж гонят

  • youtube.com/watch?v=ci4Ec7i25NE

Porthcawl upon Thames, Sophie Plummer aged 12 really nails this requiem live at the O2 in February.

  • This song sucks after 3:17 :((((

  • @cerzwong not the song you :)

  • I just love the way this goes and the singers seem to have done a real good job considering their ages xx

  • Agnus dei not angus dei.

  • I Agree!! They are great, but

Les Choristes are only 3 boys, and they have done this song better than anyone else, even soloists. Listen!

  • @BeatleBiter I found a couple on here where they sang it REALLY fast and I just don't like this song at that tempo; part of the beauty of this song is the tempo.....do they have a video with it at a slower tempo? Their voices are beautiful.....

  • @976mindy Were you talking about Les Choristes? Because I meant the Choirboys =/

  • @BeatleBiter Oops! Yeah I looked for Les Choristes....i do love Choirboys' version, it's beautiful. I have it saved to my favorites/playlist (o:

  • I meant The Choirboys not Les Choristes, sorrry If I misled.

  • I've listened to this about 20 times since yesterday when I found it; I can't get enough. SO beautiful.....

  • Oh my goodness......I had never listened to them until right now and I'm speechless.....AWESOME.....no words.

  • I do not like the echo's used, I like the more pure sound of the choir of Les Choristes better... I hope I didn't insult anybody with this comment, for that's is not my intention...

  • cool.

  • THE MIDDLE BOY IS SEX ON LEGS!!!

  • @Hazabelle1995

    Stop perving on little boys.

  • @meaning1 lmao

  • @Hazabelle1995 thou shalt not lay with man kind as with woman kind its an abomination

  • @Hazabelle1995 The fuck's wrong with you?

  • To ButtOxe: A simple, but most beautiful prayer, in Latin: Pious Jesus, who atones for/takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace, forever and ever.

  • Does anyone know who the third person singing is? The first person sing Pie Jesu, Pie Jesu, the second singer repeats this and then the third singer comes in.. I'd just like to know who's singing it as I think her voice is absolutely beautiful. Any help would be appreciated and again I hope they're back singing as a group again soon...

  • @celticlofts Its the japanese girl on the far right on the photo, she has the most amazing voice ever.. and the oldest boy in the middle does.

  • @XerxiaTheHarsh She's Half Filipino Half Brits, her father is from the Philippines and her mother is British.

  • @gee12 Thanks!

  • I'd love to see this group of singers back together again. Simon Cowell fired all six of them but to be honest they don't need him. I think the World is entitled to hear lots more music from these wonderful singers.

  • WOW!!!

  • For brother Terry, rest in peace , I will miss you forever.,...

  • wish the lyrics were in english

  • Don't the picture remind you of Twilight? Looks and sounds cool... ...It gave me goosebumps/! The song is powerful it gave me tears and made me think.

  • Mas que vozes, estou maravilhado!!!!!!

  • FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC

  • I remember having to play this on clarinet. Stunning preformance!

  • Beautiful voices...

  • °Pie Jesu, (4x) Merciful Jesus,

°Qui tollis peccata mundi Who takes away the sins of the World,

°Dona eis requiem. (2x) Grant them rest

Agnus Dei, (4x) Lamb of God,

Qui tollis peccata mundi, Who takes away the sins of the World,

Dona eis requiem (2x) Grant them rest

    Sempiternam. (2x) Everlasting

  • "Grant them rest" Just before my mom died she said she was going to meet Jesus, and died with a smile. Still remember that, that restfulness.

  • I can't let lose of this song - particularly this performance - hauntingly beautiful - I could (& often do) listen to it several times in a day - wonderful ...

  • fabulous

  • Can't wait to hear angels sing. If these kids have such an annointed voice like this, imagine what it would sound like in heaven.

    God bless <3

  • this is class! and this is coming from someone who loves rave music. I think i'll listen to it again... :)

  • beautiful

  • amazing..

  • I don't want to be the smartie pants, Pie Jesu doesn't mean Lord have mercy, infact in Laitin lord have mercy isn't used, we adopt the Greek translation of "Kyrie Eleison" for Lord have mercy, Pie Jesu I think means "pious Jesus" or "sweet Jesus" ....remember I may be wrong...

  • @priest008 You're right...pie (pius) can mean sweet, kind, merciful, dutiful, etc.

  • I never thought a song could make me cry. Until I heard this! Wow.

  • This reminds me one guy....oh yeah ANDREW JOHNSTON!!!

  • Pie Jesu means Merciful Jesus not Lord have mercy...

  • i love Jesus, i just..have overwhelming love for him...like this if Jesus is your beacon

  • really love this whole album, thank you angels

  • WOW BEST EVER

  • wow i have to ding this for my choir concert..

  • THEY ARE RIDICOLOUS CHILDRENS!!!

  • woh. they are so good!

  • hhahaha

    lamb of god \m/

  • I will pray for you. I promise. I hope you get to heaven. It sounds like you really need it, ButtOxe. I promise. I'll help you. :)

  • @starfishGirl98 you have already helped, if only you knew

  • i have to sing this for choir only we hold the notes differently and we dont go THAT high pitched . o__o

  • Beautiful.

  • one word ..........AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cant help but think they are all too young... and you just never know to what extent kids actually want to perform themselves, and what might be pushy parents, etc... makes me a tad uncomfortable. beautiful song, though, but have admittedly heard better versions, ah well!

  • not trying to be a kill joy like but you have your translation of pie jesu wrong

    you said "lord have mercy"

lord in latin is "dominus" not Jesu

because Jesu is the name of Jesus

and "pie" means kind or pious because it is the vocative singular of "pius"

  • this really is the best version iv eva heard of this song

  • what country is this

  • Beautiful, simply beutiful.. I'he vogt goose bumps listening to it..

  • amazing:) what i wouldnt give for talent like this

  • Awesome!!

  • brak słów, by wyrazić to piękno!

  • Simply beautiful.... i love this rendition of the song.. breath taking !!

  • @tinkerbell3881

    true .nice ,nice ,nice

  • its not ANGUS dei, it's AGNUS dei. just to let you know

  • yeah i agree with you @fdsrocks...and another thing is that pie jesu doesnt mean lord have mercy its the agnus die quitollis peccatta mundi...

pie jesu means oh..sweet jesus...i got confused with the first pasage of the song...
