I like his optimism, although the problem with this comment is that what Obama has shown (with increasing strength) is how his ego interferes with his decision-making and how detrimental the outcome of his actions have become due to that weakness in character. Detaching the ego from the political process is an uphill battle -unfortunately.

An action without resistance is much more effective that action with resistance. So long as you are ego-identified you are a slave to your own mind. Are you offended? The devout Christian has every right to feel that "many roads, one summit" is the same as saying Christianity absent Christ. This is blasphemy to say the least. He doesn't like believing in a though, such as 'Jesus Christ is Lord', but knowing based on an awareness that Jesus Christ is Lord. The book is specifically aimed towards the modern Christian, with all the re-interpretations of text. I do have a relationship with Christ, but not in the usual way that most believers believe in. I think you find it offensive to negate 'your' interpretation of the Bible because you are identified with it as your own truth. Look within and broaden the perspective.

I like his optimism, although the problem with this comment is that what Obama has shown (with increasing strength) is how his ego interferes with his decision-making and how detrimental the outcome of his actions have become due to that weakness in character. Detaching the ego from the political process is an uphill battle -unfortunately.

One of Eckhart Tolle's key weaknesses is his glaringly obvious filtration of negativity--I don't think he really understands that what he's describing is psychological denial and avoidance of all spectrum of emotion, not "no mind" as he describes.

An action without resistance is much more effective that action with resistance. So long as you are ego-identified you are a slave to your own mind. Are you offended? @SurrenderedSpirit My biggest problems with Mr. Tolle's work is that he specifically aims his "transcendence" to the Christian thinking mind, although never committing to any one specific belief. The devout Christian has every right to feel that "many roads, one summit" is the same as saying Christianity absent Christ. This is blasphemy to say the least. I submit to the Lord Jesus Christ and feel fulfillment in knowing that there is something so much bigger than myself.

He doesn't like believing in a though, such as 'Jesus Christ is Lord', but knowing based on an awareness that Jesus Christ is Lord. I am not saying that he does believe it, but I am using it as an example. What is it that makes you say 'many roads one summit' is blasphemy? The book is specifically aimed towards the modern Christian, with all the re-interpretations of text. Hence, to say to the Christian that there is any other road than Jesus Christ is indeed blasphemy, and quite frankly, false prophet like. I do have a relationship with Christ, but not in the usual way that most believers believe in. I won't go on about it here, but your free to have a copy of the conversation if you want (yes, I write it down for review and study sake). Eckhart probably could generally care less about political opinion, and is simply reflecting that same popular feeling. As he said, "time will tell".
