Yes! They need to return Epcot back to the days when it was "What people of the 50's thought the 80's would look like", when it was a joke, the "Boring Educational" version of the Magic Kingdom. Now they've had THE NERVE to make it interesting and people actually want to go to Epcot now. Can't they bring back the boring movies and slow rides with robots?
Ruining an attraction with Finding Nemo characters isn't making it interesting. (though it might be to your brain) It's making it dumb and juvenile. It's like the company couldn't care less about what Walt was about. They don't want EPCOT to be interesting anymore. Nemo is boring. The Living Seas was epic and mysterious. And they're not robots. They're Audio Animatronics and they're a lot better than watching CG fish on multiple tv screens singing some stupid song.
I agree with you there Nemo kind of sucks, but it's not for you or me. I thought the original version was better, but they need to refresh the rides from time to time to keep them fresh. The original version was a Ghost Town for years and this new version has been pretty popular, but once it starts to dip in attendance, I'm sure they'll do something else with it.
I went to Epcot today and was amazed at how they've Ruined the Living Seas. All educational value has gone out the window and there is no longer any sense of wonder and amazement at the power of the ocean. I loved the premovie, the fake elevator and this ride. Epcot has slowly been butchering its rides. That's why I uploaded so many of the original lost songs so these won't be forgotten. Thank you for sharing this.
Awesome preshow here. Although I have to disagree with saying EPCOT is a "wannabe thrill park with no real identity". I believe EPCOT still has some of Walt Disney's original vision for a Utopian community of tomorrow. I mean come on, World Showcase is a perfect example of how people can work together in harmony. Also Future World keeps on demonstrating how technology move the world of tomorrow. Soarin' and Mission Space are thrilling but they show how technology is a way of the FUTURE.
The thing is though, I'm not a huge fan of The Seas with Nemo either, but I do think if Walt was still alive today he would want it there. Walt was all about keeping things fresh and relevant for the future, and if he saw that there were dated attractions still in his parks not keeping newer generations entertained, he would most likely take it out and try something new. So yes, The Seas is not everybody's favorite but think of what Walt would have wanted.
Also, say Walt wouldn't have wanted The Living Seas to turn out this way, Disney needs to be constantly evolving anyways. It has to change to stay updated with the times. Look at Universal Studios, they've gotten rid of several of their older classics. Sure it's sad to see these greats go, and it pisses lots of "purists" off but theme parks have to change and evolve, they simply can't keep older dated attractions running when it would cost more to keep them, newer technology is more efficient.
So I agree with you when The Seas isn't so hot, but let's be realistic here and think about it. Things have to and need to change in order to keep everyone happy.
Wow... very inspiring. Just like the rest of Epcot used to be... before it turned into a wannabe thrill park with no real identity. They didn't want you to videotape it so that you'd never be able to show people how much effort and thought used to go into these things.
Great soundtrack! I love those misterious sounds and music from that movie. Memories from the old (and so much better) EPCOT Center. Thanks for posting it.

I agree. Soarin', Mission: Space, and Test Track are relevant to technology and discovery. Nemo...not so much.

So true. I'm not sure how you got downvoted...
Must be some stupid High School Musical fans who like the fact that it's becoming "HSM World".
