  • The keys look like jelly lol.

  • Great great great dude, seriously !!

  • If I could play riffs like this I probably wouldn't need to masterbate quite as much :-D

  • You just saved me quite a bit of time and effort! Sometimes I would be up for putting in the work and finding out the voicings myself but on this occasion I am very glad of your help - lovely stuff!

  • when I hear a rhodes, I get into a good mood.

  • Thank you, nice play there. Finally someone playing a song on the piano from Jamiroquai that is NOT Virtual Insanity

  • Awesome

  • nice sound

  • AWESOME

  • Man, i love this!

    GREAT 5*

  • Very nice!

Just needs some *light* tremolo behind it!

Saw my first one of these in a Japanese music shop, was like the equivalent of 5000 Australian dollars!

    Respect.

  • SO HOT. The only thing I wish is if it's longer.

  • If I could play Blow Your Mind in a Rhodes piano my fingers won't last in going to heaven :D

  • Very nice sounds dude!

  • Nice one - you recorded your Rhodes nice and close! Just one thing - the second chord voicing as played by Toby Smith is G B D E as opposed to your G A B D - I've posted a video response where I play the solo using that voicing, hope you enjoy it.

    Cheers,

    Tom

  • whats the name of the chords????

    NAME please...

  • @gealoa Fmaj7 - Gsus2 - G#aug

  • Just beautiful...

  • Great tune by a great band played on a great instrument, very very nice!

  • I LOVE THIS SOUND!!!

  • hey tell us the chords please !

  • I've recently come to learn that the Rhodes piano is part of the reason jazz is so awesome. Therefore, good sir, you are awesome by association!

  • This is great! very nice. i love rhodes pianos. Ive just uploaded a video of me playing drums to this song, if you care to take a look.

    Xavier

  • :( awweee.. who cares.

Look at it this way, if this were a live in person performance, would you notice? NO. you'd miss it because you'd be talking or tapping your feet or something...

    don't be so picky.

  • beautiful, just perfect feeling

  • WONDERFUL man !!!!!!! this swing music :)) you play very good

  • I love the rhodes! I love Jamiroquai! Nice job!

Don't worry about "relisix" he's obviously a cock chugger himself.

  • Please, let's not hate anyone. I'm always ready for the criticism as long as it's constructive, so I respect every opinion.

  • I suppose you didn't get the sarcasm. I wrote descriptions on the screen because a lot of people thought that I cheat and my Rhodes isn't really connected. But I recently took down the writing as I was bored with it. Just simple info is enough.

  • i love the keyboard. toby smith is so awesome but underrated.

  • what do you play in the bassline?

  • I used my rhodes may times in the recording studio, and I always had the engineer tap the RCA on the harp nd go directly to the board where effects were added. The only difference is if i wanted to use a stereo delay, phaser, chorus unit, or panner...the the lead off of the harp went to the effect and then into the console.

    Nice sounds.

  • very nice, very nice.

  • Great playing! Try laying back on it just a bit more....your just a little bit ahead of the groove. kickin ass! Congrats!

  • Wow great playing U killed that

  • hi p3c3 would you please you give a tutorial on how to play part 0:47 to 0:52 on piano! its the last part and im done learning this song!!!!!!! thanks to you:)

  • increible jamiro exorbitante

  • Very very close to the real chords...but not the same I think.

The chords at 006:007 sounds me a little bit different form the cd...

Anyway it's a pretty good work...I would to have transcriptions if it's you that transcribed the song...

    5 stars

  • where can i get the sheets , its so chill out x3

  • hes the best.

  • damn you play really well i wish i had the money to buy a keyboard like that

  • Amazing :D Nice Rhodes As Well

  • the sound is soooo good

  • motyla noga, swietny jestes, zagrac z takim klawiszowcem w jednym zespole to bylo by cos.

  • lol ahahhaahhah i love the new annotations you added lol funnyyyy ^^

  • :))

  • please give a tutorial on this please plasase.

    ur the best!

  • It's done now and posted as a response to the video. :)

  • dude you play great and the sound of that Rhodes is so warm and sweet, But two questions please. 1/ after the RCA line out are you using a compressor /preamp before the recording and 2/ when did H become a music note ? :) ...(see the details sections where you kindly state the notes played...)

  • Thanks. Ok, here are the answers to your questions 1/ no, I don't use anything between RCA out and instrument line-in in my firewire soundcard but I used some plug-in compression and eq probably (nothing unusual) 2/ H appears in Polish and German notations but for the rest of the world it's B. I changed H for B in the description for no-confusion-any-more. :)

  • thanks for the answers and info :)

  • how much costs such a rhodes piano?

  • It depends on model, shape and year of production. As you know these pianos are old and no more produced (well, actually they introduced new model Mark 7 but it's expensive). You can check prices of Mark I, like mine, on ebay . com or ebay . de but I suggest to buy it in person

  • unless the seller is 100% trusted and honest about condition. If you don't have experience with Rhodes I suggest to take some person who owns one and take a look at the piano you want to buy. There are some things worth checking.

  • Dude, your rhodes isnt plugged in!

  • Cuz it's wireless Rhodes man... Read the description.

  • what a sweet Rhodes!

  • I LOVE FENDER RHODES.

  • can you teach us how to play this please show us you rock!:D

  • sweet

  • what note is H???

  • Quoted from Wikipedia: "In parts of Europe, including Germany, Poland and Russia, the natural symbol transformed into the letter H: in German music notation, H is B♮ (B-natural) and B is B♭ (B-flat)." So for you H would be B. Yes, I know it's confusing. Honestly, I do not like theory. ;)

  • what key is this in?

  • daaaaamnnnnnn cousinnnn! im jammin to thiss noww haha

  • I just love the sound of Rhodes('s). :)

  • Are you really THAT lame that you don't know you can take the audio output directly from RCA socket of the Rhodes harp? I told it before so read comments or STFU.

  • good playing how the fuck do i know i have a rhodes seventy three.. Thanx for the info.. what are those chords changes? sorry :)

  • Excellent work

  • Cool

  • Yess! Really nice performance of one of my Jamiroquai Favorites. Good Stuff!

  • Wait wait wait... what is the H key? I've only learned the note scale goes from C D E F G A B.

Very nice playing by the way. 5 stars.

  • H seems to mean B. Don't know what this H business' all about...

  • Ah it's northern european notation...

  • dude u really deserve this piece of instrument :) well played

  • I love how the keyboard gurgles :D and such a warm soft sound, I wish I could have one.

  • not everyone can play this. trust me, i've tried and i still can't. incredible job, awesome sound, and more importantly, funky!

  • Yo! I ENJOY THIS MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL!!

  • Can't stop watching to your vid'..

    Awesome playing =)

  • nice try on a suunny day!

  • Great! Nice groove and fancy bass rhythm ;)

  • Excellent work :)

  • Great !!

  • hermoso

  • Very nice! Do you have the chords and notes of the break(s). Thanks!

  • lovly! and a great track aswell!

  • reaally nice :)

  • what does the H mean in your chord chart?

  • H = C flat

  • H = B

    B = Bb

    That's German system.

  • is the piano split? the bassline doesn't sound like a piano.

  • this is my fuckin favourite rhodes vid in youtube. the sound is soooooo beautiful. i cant wait to get one too:(

  • this is a place for "opinionated comments"... not for arguing!!! So please take your "high school" minds elsewhere!!!

  • no ones arguing.. I would say it was more of a debate. Nothing in comparison to some of the rows you see around this website. People are allowed a discussion, and as long as they are resolved in a civil manner, then there is no harm done to anybody. That is the whole reason of having comments, so people can leave their thoughts...

  • nice but real simple

  • still sounds stiff man, dont hate on people like that!

  • man must not play keys and i you do you must be a beginer cuzz that real easy the hard part is the bass line and thats easy

  • I never denied it was easy, if you actually read my comment, i said "it still sounds stiff" - meaning, it still sounds good, whether its easy or not, if its difficult it doesn't automatically make it a good piece of music. I do play keys, I'm just saying there's no need to hate on people.

  • well thats coo but i wuz just commenting i never ment to sound like i wuz hating cuz your right sometimes less is better

  • okay cool, well i'm sorry for coming to that conclusion. i didn't mean any harm. :)

  • Good music doesn't have to be hard to play and please remember that Rhodes piano line is just a part of bigger arrangement of "Blow Your Mind" - drums, bass, horns, synths, vocals, etc. and Jamiroquai is extremely good at it. Even if there are few chords still you have to make it right. Do not consider music just as technique. I think it's mostly emotion, feeling and whole idea. And what can I say more? For sure there are people that are able to play it better than me. Cheers people.

  • I agree entirely, you played it nicely, kept a nice feel, stayed in time, and thats what alot of musicians who are playing a reasonabley rhythmic piece of music without band or metronome struggle with. I think you pulled it off very well.

  • cxxl

  • that was heaps tight

    rhodes pride

    love it

  • Nice!!!!

  • wow, youre good.

  • man that rhodes sounds nice. mine needs some work

  • LOOOOVVVEEE that intro

  • Thank'you!!!

  • please give me the chords.

  • Ok, now added to the description.

  • like outrun a little bit but i love it .. :D

  • rhodes are nice but you cant beat the wurlitzer.

  • very very nice! now i'll buy a rhodes too....:P

  • UGH I WANT A RHODES SO BADLY!!!!

i would play it EVERY DAY until the keys began to decay

  • awesome!

    just like JQ!

  • man you funk !!!!!

  • Epic cover- I'm playing along with my bass! You should do the entire song my man!!

  • Nice playing, sounds like your instrument's in great shape, too. Did you plug into the amp straight off the harp? There's no 1/4" cable coming out the front...

  • Yes, straight off the harp.

  • Very good.

  • Great sound!! Rhodes is definately the best-sounding keyboard/piano in the world.

  • nice!

  • feraking awesome dude.. got me goosebumps.. if that's the word.. LOL

  • GREAT sounding Rhodes. man Il ove that

  • I absolutely LOVE this song!!! You could tell me the chord changes or do a tutorial video on this please? I'm a piano major and am a HUGE fan of Jamiroquai! Thanks. :o)

  • very nice!

  • great job

  • bravo

  • waaaaaaa I adore this sound and the way you play!!

  • Awsome! nice sound 2 ;)

  • muy bien!!!!

  • hey... your piano has no cable!

  • Yes, the sound goes directly from the harp by RCA cable and it's out of view here.

  • Hmm, nice TONE!

Wondering if this is a 88 rhodes?

  • Nope, it's 73.

  • Simply Gawjus sound, Totally Nailed it!

  • the songs under 1 minute-concept is pretty cool and really helpful

  • Outstanding. I couldnt help but sing Jamiroquai's part...lol

  • Thank you so much! This video has been a valuable resource in quickly learning this song!

  • Very beautiful!

  • great playing!!!

  • That was so incredible that when I heard the first 3 chords I was about to accuse you of playing the CD and pretending to play!! haha

    Brilliant

  • Lol.. :) Thanks.

  • Just awesome!

  • Beautiful :) I love this sounds and you play it very wwell, I can hear Jamiroquai :)

  • Hey man, what's the chord progression of this tune? is it Am-Dm11-Em11 then up a half step? Thanks!

  • This is some serious, wake up in the morning and you know your gonna have a good day intro right here. That rhodes piano playing is awesome.

  • yeaaaahhhhh!!

  • jak zawsze wszystko dopracowane :D naprawdę świetne. oby tak dalej!

    pozdrawiam, Ewelina.

  • This is amazing - love the sound! We need more Jamiroquai covers that aren't Virtual Insanity.

What chords are you playing? I can make out the FM7 and Gadd9 but the next escapes me... The way I play it is with some sort of G#dim6b, but the only thing worse than my theory is my ear :(

  • Thank you!

Well, I'm not good at theory so I can give you some chords only note by note ;)

    1. FM7

    2. notes G A H D

    3. notes F# G# C E

And then is some half note up transposition.

  • Sorry, the first one is F7# so the notes are F A C E. Sorry for the mistake.

  • Great got it, thanks. Please post more!

  • świetnie. Troszeczkę w jednym momencie przyspieszasz, ale potem od razu jest powrót do prawidłowego tempa. Jest feeling, jest sound, fajnie się słucha :) Pozdrawiam i czekam na więcej! :)

  • No, trzeba by zaczac cwiczyc do clicka i w ogole cwiczyc wiecej.. ;)

  • hehe ;) i tak jest fajnie :)

  • fantastic!!! You're the man!!! I love it!

  • Wicked playing....im feeling those chords
