  • This is a great homage to the live-action show

  • i love the fact that her spinning transformation became canon out of the simple fact it was easier to film in the tv series! LOL

  • so flash dressed her? it was so fast that I dont even saw her naked :D

  • @Lelaps00 Nah... Flash? Knowing him (from this particular show), he'd UN-dress her. XD

  • what episode is this?

  • She can spin on my.........well you get the rest.

  • I like this. It's kick ass flavored awesomesauce.

  • Wondah Womaaaaaaan!

  • I like the Peter Version

  • It's nice to have the spin in the cartoon, but I would hardly call this transformation "awesome." It's a pretty lackluster rendition of Diana spinning, and since animation doesn't have the cost barriers faced by the live-action show, it seems to me that the animators just kinda phoned this one in. I mean, is it that hard to draw a few motion lines to represent spinning? For a professional animator, I think not.

  • @otherlleft nitpicker :P

  • Though this is so 70's it's still epic.

  • Lynda Carter would be proud.

  • I geeked out COMPLETELY when I first saw the spin transformation here. My room mate thought I'd lost my mind (and she was right, lol). Thanks for posting.

  • actually whoever did the Spiderwoman cartoon, took the spin transformation idea for Jessica Drew and thats how she would change into her costume.......

  • Every comic book fan I know (myself included) loved it when they had her spin in the cartoon. Nice nod to Lynda Carter, the inventor of the spin! :-)

  • lol@ Diana closing her eyes near the end

WW: "Damn, that light's hurting my eyes! How does She-Ra put up with this part of her transformation?"

  • What episode is this?

  • @SailorShani04 To Another Shore

  • thats not really how she transforms as gorgeo is right she 'transforms' by taking off her clothes and putting her costume on duhhhhh

  • Whatever Diana is wearing and/or holding when she is transforming dissolves.

  • I love Wonder Woman.

  • WonderWoman is still the coolest superhero of all time

  • The music is very fitting for such a scene as this!

  • I accidentally found this video while looking up cheese.... how does that even make sense???

  • what do you mean 'make sense'? It is a superheroe changing from civilian to costume, it doesn't have to make sense.. Superheroes are known to have their own way of changing to superheroe gear. They usually need to change rather quickly to go into action immediately. And there is a story behind Wonder Woman spin transformation.

  • Whats that story? I always want to know it.

  • There has been 3 know Wonder Woman transformations in the comics. And if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. The spin transformation that is so attached to the character was created by Lynda Carter for the 70's TV Show. The current transformation when the show was created was Diana spinning the lasso around herself and the vibrations will change here into Wonder Woman. But that was too expensive for the show and they needed a new one.

  • So Lynda suggested she could do a spin to transform and the producers asked her to show them They liked it and we got the slow motion translucent spin transformation. But that was still a little expensive so by 'Beauty on Parade' they took out the slow motion-translucent and added the light explosion to the now normal speed spin. This became so popular that the comic adopted it thus becoming her trademark transformation. No other character has it. And that's the story behind it. ;)

  • Wow. Thank you.

  • @georgeo thank you for uploading this. I have always wanted to se it. It is fantastic to see someone else honouring the 1970's TV show. The spin used there is the first season style spin as in seasons 2 and 3 Lynda didn't raise her arms when she changed.

You are wrong about no other character having it. Spider-Woman from the 1979 cartoon series used it. Maervel admitted they got the idea from Wonder Woman

  • @MenteIntoxicada theres a thing calles wikipedia

  • He was asking how it makes sense that Youtube would show him this video when he's searching for "cheese".

  • OH! I guess I misunderstood. Sorry.

  • @georgeo This is when you know u're too pro for ur own good,

  • @Socran LOL

  • @georgeo Um, cheesejared was wondering why a search for "cheese" led him or her to the video, not whether or not the costume change was logical. It was the search term that was being questioned, get it?

As for why "cheese" would lead to a superhero video, you can draw your own conclusions.

  • Sexy, tough, imposing, classic... so many good things in just a few glorious seconds. Thanks for the video.

  • Loved the JLU tribute to Lynda Carter here!

  • i love this i can stop whaching et

  • It's pretty funny the fact that I saw this last nite... Haha I luv it tho

  • yea but who wants to look at wally lol

  • such a nice homage to the TV show!

  • I'm glad someone else here recognizes that! :)

  • Flash is way faster. He can pull his costume out of his ring and change in 1 sec.

  • finally we have a superhero that has a short transformation sequence. but that's wonder woman for ya- she likes to get things done

  • Amazonian tech: actervated by spinning. XD

  • that was sexy

  • I love this spin. I may not have been ain around the 70s, but I loved Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman. What a fantastic way to honor her this way!

Thanks for this! It's defintely one of my favorite moments from JL/JLU

  • i love her powers.

  • I had a big smile when she spinned! Shes my fav JL character and I love her and batsman together.

  • The original Wonder Woman series was, yeah, but this animated version came out much more recently.

  • Methinks rotoscoping was used here.

  • Aquaman:..What was the point of that?

    WW:What?

Aquaman:That spin that you did,and the lightning. What was that about?

    WW:That's how I change clothes.

    Superman:I change clothes in a phonebooth. :D

  • what episode was that dialogue on?

  • dude i think it was a joke.

  • Ok then. Sorry.

  • It is from "To Another Shore"

  • This episode is called "To Another Shore".

  • What episode is this from? I know it has something to do with he Viking Ship and the gorilla dude wanting to reverse this invincibility thingy inside a corpse on the viking ship , but that's about all I know. This episode was on Bommerang but I missed the title.

  • I like this better than the spin transformation that I saw in earlier cartoons...those seemed to be rushed (like a hurricane, as someone else stated here)...this one is majestic, much like the live action (Lynda Carter) spin transformation...

  • yay it stays true to the original live action one!

  • wonder woman spin all the way!!

    what episode is this from?

  • She really needs to take a lesson from the Sailor Senshi....

  • ...I didn't know the "magic girl anime" spin existed in American comics. Honestly, that was kind of scary. o.o

  • It's so cheezy but for some reason, I like it.

  • I love the subtle references to Lynda Carter! Remember Steve Trevor and Vandal Savage?

  • She is hot!

  • FINALLY! The Wonder Woman spin on a cartoon! The only thing missing was the great background music...

  • The spin was animated previously, on the final two seasons of The Superfriends series.

  • Awesome Transformation.

  • *Spins around until nausea sets in*

    Drat!

  • Yes! The Wonder Woman Spin. *dies of joy*

  • When I saw this episode, I almost cried. I'm a big fan of the 70's Wonder Woman (having the seasons on DVD), and seeing her transform in Justice League, the same way she transformed in the 70's series, was just awesome.

  • Which episode was this? I have Lynda carter's shows on tape, myself--all the animated Diana is missing is the glasses--remember when she did the spin on superfriends?

  • Wonder Woman spinned at least 2 times in the SuperFriends cartoon from 1980!

  • I recall the spin transformation being used in one episode of each of the last two SuperFriends seasons. (And each with two spins.) In Superfriends: Legendary Superpowers Show, Wonder Woman transformed into Diana Prince - and later back to Wonder Woman - in order to investigate a Brainiac mind control plot. In the next season, SuperPowers Team, the spins occurred in a storyline involving Darkseid masquerading himself as Steve Trevor.

  • Yes! Exactly :) but those were not only twirls but straight up hurricane spins!

  • which season was it?

  • last season of Justice League Unlimitted. Episode name is "To Another Shore."

  • haha! THe sun shines down on her right after she transforms

  • I know! Well after all, she is a goddess. ;)

  • Which episode of JLU is this?

  • I believe is "To another shore"

  • Not only did I miss the Wonder Whirl but I missed this episode entirely! I LUV WW, can someone PLEAZE put this entire episode on for WW fans?!

  • kool clip but can u or somebody upload this episode please

  • COOL

  • Thanks! I know! I gasped when I saw this. Way cool!! :)

  • the best way to honor Lynda Carter in this cartoon.

  • Oh SNAP, I LOVED that! I missed the original episode, thanks!

  • that was hot to incorporate the spin from the show into the cartoon ...i only hope they have it for the movie

  • Since Lynda Carter created the spin transformation Phil Jimenez introduced the spin into the comics and it has become 'the' Wonder Woman transformation, it might show up in the movie as well! :)

  • lol i wish i had that as a icon ^_^

that was the only time they gave Diana a transformation.
