A lot of people don't like sketching digitally. I would recommend that you just sketch on paper, scan, then color from that. It is mainly because you have less control than you would if you were sketching pencil on paper.
when i try joining up the dots with a line tool the silly thing keeps creating more layers and calling it shape 1,shape 2 and shape 3 how do i stip it from doing this and the lines keep dissapearing when a new one is connected how do i stop it from doing this??
Oh right, I think your line tool is set to "shape layers". If you select the line tool, you will see an options bar appear at the top (with opacity, weight that sort of thing). Select the "fill pixels" icon, which is the plain square. Hope that makes sense.

alright im pretty new to my wacom bamboo...im not that good at it i mean i can draw but somehow sketching with it seems more difficult. any tips?

unless its tilt sensitive try to keep you hand striaght when drawing and dont tilt the tablet to the side :P not that im any good with mine either

Thanks! I think it was Photoshop 7. I use CS2 now, but this was done around 5-6 years ago.
