  • This is a wonderful and great video of your Piranhas. You can certainly tell which is which and the Natt's totally own the Piraya, as the Piraya seem to get out of the Natt's way. Great set-up and awesome decor. I have 5 Natt's myself and can not wait till they get to this size.

    Regards Jon :-)

  • i put my frozen piranha meat/chicken/shrimps i get from my dads work in a glass of water... they dont go for it instantly but they eat it...:/

  • What specific type of foods do you actually feed your pirayas & natts?? Nice fishes & setup by the way ;-]

  • @jerumd

mainly anchovy, octopus, mullet, shrimps, chicken and beef heart.

Liquid vitamins on the food once a week and spirolina tablets in the food twice a month ;]

  • @tommasom Tanks for the info :-] To be honest with you, i have two pirayas myself. They are both male and female. Both are none-related wild caught specimens. The female was caught in the south, while the male was caught in the north of Brazil. I am planning to breed them someday once they grow up. I make sure they are none-related since, i am not a big fan of inbreeding within the same blood. I feed them tilapia, liver, earthworms, frozen blood worms, chicken, beef heart, and salmon.

  • @jerumd

each food might bring hillness. That's why it's very important to freeze it before... U stock it frozen and then u make it warm naturally, just waiting a couple of hours befor feeding them. Anchovy it's a food really appreciated due to their glands which relase a very powerfull smell in the water. Male and Female pirayas are not recognizable. I hope u have a couple. Anyway pirayas have never been reproduced in aquarium. Good Luck!!!

    Tommy

  • @tommasom Your right, i do the same too, and i also make sure i warm up the food before feeding them both of them. I never tried anchovy yet but, i will soon. I know my pirayas are both male and female since, the females generally larger than the males with more appetite as well. I do know that no one has ever bred pirayas in captivity. I wanna brake that record because, i have a 500 gallon tank reserved for them in the later future.

  • @tommasom Out curiosity, since they are freshwater fishes, is it healthy to feed them saltwater foods like, octopus, mussels, and ocean shrimps?? I am also curious on why both of my 3 inch wild caught pirayas are soo skittish at my presence??

  • Complimenti Tommaso una bellissima vasca con dei pesci stupendi e molto in forma!!! Sono Curioso anche io di sapere se li hai cresciuti te o presi già adulti e da quanto convivono insieme

  • @AcquariShop

Ciao Davide!! i Piraya son cresciuti assieme. Giornata indimenticabile purtroppo.

  • i nattereri sono arrivati adulti nel 2009. I miei li diedi via nel 2006 assieme a caribe adulti. ;)

  • Nice

  • wow nice set up did u raise them from baby?

  • @crazykyle401
