Theismann was at his best when he was a cocky, egotistical winning quarterback. When he went into broadcasting, he didn't bring his personality with him and he ended up as a mediocre tv analyst. Riggins has always been Mr. Charisma and it was fun watching him on the Redskins Report with George Michael (RIP).
In the past decade throughout all the coaching changes and quarterback changes who has been the one common denominator?! DAN SNYDER!!! Gee I wonder if he is the problem?!
Joe evidently thinks he may have a chance for a job from Snyder. My band played for a party Joe's daughter gave at the University of Alabama. I met Joe there. He gave us the check. It didn't clear. We had to get the agency to get the money out of him.
I agree w/ Garytgsr. Riggo has integrity and everybody has always known that. Joe is a politician.
I agree with ndnballer09. These were great!!! John is like us fans, very frustrated, but having played the game & for this Team, has a little more insight. Joe has some valid points, just like a management person. These two would have a hell of a great radio show.
John I agree with you 100%. I am not sure why Joe T. is afraid to say anything negative about Snyder or Vinny. Maybe Joe has something in mind as far as employment with the team? As in any business, to be successful you need to surround yourself with people who are successful in the business. Snyder has not done this because that type of person would tell Snyder to back off. We will never get a top quality coach until Snyder either sells the team or gives up his medeling.
In the old days when Joe Gibbs had his mind on the game he not only looked for good players, he looked for smart guys with character. Half of the Redskins players now struggle to even master the English language. Maybe good players but not a lot of smarts on the field right now.
I have met both of these guys. Joe wouldn't even look at you in the eyes and just walks away when HE feels it's time to go. John is completely down to earth and a real guy.. no bull.. no " I'm better then you" mentality.. and responds to you with open honest opinions.. JOE on the other hand says the obvious during a taping or game and doesn't give the "fan" ,one on one, the time of day.
Joe T, how can you disagree with your teammate when you know deep down that he's right.not to mention that he "Buttered your bread " for you when you were "off" your game more then a few years.you've got your blinders on # 7. hell, I'm still trying to figure out how Riggo is holding himself back from "slapping " your across the face.if you were on my boat, you'd be" walking the plank" mister.
Joey T, you'd make a great team publicist. And you were a great quarterback. But team president? No. And I'm afraid you'd learn WAY more than you wanted about the real Danny.
I really appreciated Riggo's comments about his obligations to the fans. He had that attitude when he was carrying the ball for the Redskins, and that's the reason he's arguably the most popular player in the history of the franchise. Well, that, and the fact that a single tackler could never get him down, he never ran out of bounds, and he never celebrated one of his touchdowns.
John, youve got a lot of courage sharing your opinions so openly. I worry about you because youre like that crazy brother who doesnt know when to bite his lip.
You dont seem to consider how your words and actions might harm your legacy. Let all of us hot-headed fans with nothing to lose state the obvious about Snyder and company you should be a little more subtle and diplomatic. I love you, man. Youre the coolest dude Id hate to see the "establishment" try to put a muzzle on you.
I love how Joe still has belief in this team and cares alot obviously. but this team is going downhill FAST!!!! changes need to happen QUICK!! They need to clean house from top to bottom and find someone who knows what the hell they are doing. i thought they needed to start a rebuilding stage last year, instead they try to plug in a few players and think they are contenders. they are too old and we need to start over. Orakpo is the only bright spot on our team, the rest need to go
John I think you're spot on in that Dan's been calling the shots like Al Davis for years! I'm SICK of it! It's obvious that the scouting dept (Vinny's turf) has failed when you get hit or miss 1st rounders, and literally 2nd day picks that are OUT OF THE NFL in 2 or 3 years. And I hate to say it but kids playing MADDEN have more football iq than these coaches! Clock awareness! Setting up the PA! Mixing up dives, off tackles, stretches, draws, and screens! Very basic things are lacking now
These guys need a radio show.
I demand we Redskins faithful make it happen!

What Joe does not understand is that Dan Snyder wants to win for "Dan Snyder", not for the Washington Redskins.
