Shit like this probably happens in every big company. And if a union formed and demanded stuff, a company of that size COULD just say no and possibly even fire them and get people willing to work for less.
My university is a Coke Campus, so it's impossible to find anything that doesn't have the Coca Cola brand stamped in fine print. It's quite disturbing. Throughout the year students give away free Coke products randomly, or t-shirts with the Coke label. I work on campus and contractually I am not allowed to wear any clothing with beverage titles other than Coke products (not that I would even do that as I think that's disgusting). It's disturbing how much Coca Cola really plays a role on campus.
@openupfresh A nice thing about boycotting Coca-Cola is that it's solely beverages that you avoid, and raising effective levels of awareness about the issue would make a wide-reaching dent in the wide-ranging abuses because the Coca-Cola Company is such an icon.
first of all bush didnt start a war al-Qaeda did. second coke taste awesome. and im sure obama dose alot more dirty buissnes than coca cola. now i do agree its unhealthy and that why i dont drink it alot but i dont think its that bad.
@varickwt haha thats funny you think the CIA blew up the twin towers. al-Qaeda was founded by osama bin laden in 1988, its a radical group of muslims that are calling for a global jihad. so pretty much they want all christains and jews dead. Now do you think that sounds like the CIA or any U.S. goverment? I stand by the CIA and the U.S. goverment no matter what. and i'm proud to be an American.
Wow really great comments! now here in Brasil they have a propaganda called "reasons to believe", well thats pure sick 1984 double standards and the fuckin sheeple all "beatiful message thranks coca". Keep on !
You make some good valid points. Unfortunately, you your self live in a nation that was built on the broken backs of others. If you want to boycott something, boycott society itself. Better yet, boycott nature, because every living being lives at the cost of another.
Anyway, I've got delicious coke to drink and hippy arses to kick. Have a good life living morally higher than the rest of us.
Okey, I saw your video, you made a good point. But I will not stop drinking cola because of it, since the drink itself doesn't have anything to do with it. The money might, but humans will always wage war, so I won't bother doing anything about it. (I know I seem cruel and stuff, but today I just don't care.)
First of all great video. I can tell my little story on why I boycotted them. Nothing special but anyway. I was addicted to coke, mostly for the taste and the sugar, I thought about it a lot so one day I meditated and I asked myself why I was drinking it so much I couldn't think of one good reason so I stopped. Also there is other reasons why I boycott coke, couple of them you find in the video. In every international company you find some dirt, so try to buy locally and think about others/earth
Yesterday I posted a boycott Coke vid. If you run "boycott coke Duffy", it comes up in a you tune search. I have boycotted them this many years. I have been researching them this ten years. Their crime against humanity and the environment are way to many to list! Glad to see Im not the only person promoting the "Boycott Coke".
Coke are also buying up all the bottled water companies in the world, and adding fluoride and liquid aluminium!
Anyone who wants to get involved in spreading the word about this (it's as easy as posting links to videos like this on facebook), can check out this group, facebook.com/OneTeenVsCoke. Even if you're not sure you want to invest as much as five minutes into spreading the boycott to the point of effectiveness, give the page and website a look-over.
coca cola supports zionism with its membership of apac. Also coca cola supported the third reich with its funding and sponsorship. these guys are complete bastards. fuck the lot of them
Corporations involve themselves in politics so they can get favors from politicians. There are plenty of corporations that donated to Bush and Obama and just about every other politician that holds office. Obama helped crack down on Philip Morris' competition with that anti-smoking bill so Philip Morris must have given Obama some money at some point. Bush was in bed with the oil industry and helped them out with the Iraqi Oil law.
I've boycotted Coca Cola for years exactly because of their labour history in Columbia. There was actually an independent study done by a New York group in 2004, and included in the nine murders was about 179 human rights abuses. This included kidnapping, torture, and firing of workers who've attended union meetings. You're absolutely right. They are among the most evil corporations in the world.
last year, my class did some sort of experiment that involved coca cola cans, and my teacher accidently left a glass full (poured straight from a can) out in the classroom during a long weekend. when we returned, all the sugar and water was evaporated, and we discovered that all that was left over was just a very little dried up puddle of flavoring and food coloring.
spending 2 or 3 bucks basically just for a cup of water? absurd!
I agree with almost all your claims, Avaadore44, except one. You say one reason for not wanting to drink Coke is that it contains aspartame, "a carcinogen". There is no scientific evidence that aspartame increases cancer rates. It's been tested thoroughly.
I also wonder what you have against GMOs.
Otherwise, yep, hate coke and don't plan on buying from them anymore.

I boycott Target because they gave a donation to a Republican Govenor that's against equal rights for Gays, if you look up TheYoungTurks they have a mini news clip/documentary about it
Yeah I saw that, I love TheYoungTurks! I boycott target too... I always think with cheap stores like that, the only reason they're cheap is because someone else had already payed for stuff through their suffering etc.
I cant believe it!!! All the things you spoke about were outrageous! Ive never bought any coca cola or pepsi because its nasty, but do you know of any brands beside coca cola that they own? or a website that lists them? thanks for making me more aware!!
Hey! If you go on the coca cola company website, then on 'products' then on 'product list' it lists everything that is in any way made or owned by them.. I'd give you a link but I don't think that allowed on youtube comments.
I really Do like coke This dose Make me think about it, I am gunna have to think some More thanks for giving me some Light on whats going on Thank you.
I know that companies can be kinda shady. like Mcdonalds when they were giving money to the IRA which is like ok you are funding weapons now lol. I'm not sure how much of it is them trying to do things. it's hard to tell with things like sweat shops how much they are involved in terms of knowing what's going on before it happens, the George Bush thing is really weird. lots of things going on lol. you'd think they'd just make drinks and sell them
I also boycott Nestle, Kraft, Walmart, McDonalds, Pepsico, Nike, Starbucks, Burger King, l'oreal, KFC, Procter & Gamble and probably a lot more, but too many to list. A great documentary to watch is No Logo, The Corporation is also really good, if I think of anything else, I'll write you a message!!
Ew to donating money to George Bush and killing people. I ironically just pledged to start only drinking water (just for health reasons) but now after watching your video I am glad I have stopped for other reasons too. Thank you! I'm going to research further.
Yes! That's definitely the best idea. I'm really lucky cause I when I was little my parents didn't allow me to drink anything but water, so that habit has stuck until now and I really have to say it has so many health benefits! You'll really start feeling better, looking better - everything!! So I'm really glad you've decided to do this and wish you the best of luck!!!
Yes definitely! However, I'm a little anxious about putting anything too anti-Israel on youtube... as you know how touchy people can get about that, call you an antisemite etc. But of course I completely agree with you. You could probably imagine the backlash though if I made a video about it..
How dare you accuse my viewers of not being able to think for themselves. There may be a lot of idiots on youtube, but there are also a lot of intelligent, independently thinking people. Taking into consideration the subject matter of this video and HelenaNV's and your reaction, I think you belong to the former category, and she to the latter...
MMMmmm i dont buy from certain companys that i know test on animals like L'oreal and other big brands,, i still use MAC as they promote recycling and dont test on animals which is a big deal for me.I never knew this about coca cola though... i dont tend to buy their stuff anyway but it is shocking O.O thanks for an eyeopening video.
Hey awesome! I don't really hear of many people doing that, so props to you!
Weeelll... I actually haven't heard anything bad about MAC business practice wise that would lead me to think they're bad, so I haven't really thought about it, I personally just wouldn't (couldn't) buy from them cause they're so damn expensive. Do they do any bad stuff??
@avaadore44 hey gret video really informative anyways i really don't drink sodas or that kinda stuf,f and about MAC i've only heard about the rodarte collection that has caused controversy check it out
Oh sure!! I don't think about Walmart a lot, since they don't have them over here (although I hear ASDA is part of Walmart) but I definitely wouldn't buy from them either... I'll do some research and make a vid!
Yes Coca Cola DID sell the water back to them. The Coca Cola plant in India then gave free fertilizer to the Indian people but it was found by a BBC study that the fertilizer was just waste matter and chemicals from the plant. On the bright side, I believe that the Indian women who were quietly protesting across the street finally did win and the Coca Cola plant was closed. So we need more individuals and grass roots groups to take action. Excellent video!
Hey gorgeous, i know its private and its ok if u want to keep it to yourself but u really are an inspiration to me and u could be an inspiration to a lot of others if u talk about overcoming a abusive relationship. whether its verbal physical emotion, and finding the strength to keep going and keeping ur chin up althought u love the person. Weeelll... I actually haven't heard anything bad about MAC business practice wise that would lead me to think they're bad, so I haven't really thought about it, I personally just wouldn't (couldn't) buy from them cause they're so damn expensive. Do they do any bad stuff??

Im so glad ur back <3 Sarahjane. xo
