Was BucketHead playing the Blues??? AWESOME, I'm use to him just shredding...don't get me wrong, shredding takes some skill...but it gets boring pretty fast...NO FEELING
Kurt Cobain was a great musician of the ninetys not a great guitarists not even top twenty and Kim thayil should b top 3 if u disagree listen to the solo off the song "like suicide" woulda liked to see petrucci here but used to seeing him underrated
Billy Corgan always seem to go unnoticed. I know he comes across as a bit of a primadonna but c'mon, the riffs he writes are memorable as hell, and he plays pretty awesome leads as well. Cherub Rock? Zero? etc?
Slash is both 80's and 90', November Rain, Estranged, Don't Cry.. I think buckethead is more 90's, and honestly i wouldn't place him in my list. My favorite guitarist in order are; 1) Slash 2) Zakk Wylde 3) Kirk Hammet 4) Joe Satrani 5) Steve Vai 6) John Frusciante 7) Santana 8) Claudio Sanchez (Coheed & Cambria) 9) James Hetfield 10) Ryan Kruger
my opinion: 1.) john frusciante (RHCP) 2.) dimebag darrell (pantera/damageplan) 3.) slash (GNR/Velvet Revolver) 4.) jerry cantrell (AIC) 5.) tom morello (RATM) 6.) kurt cobain (nirvana) 7.) kim thayil (soundgarden) 8.) mike mccready (pearl jam) 9.) billie joe armstrong (green day) 10.) dave mustaine (megadeth) not in that order obviously i just listed them of the top of my head. maybe replace kim thayil with kirk, its just kirk was better in the 80's than 90's and dave kicks ass
actually if u listen to their first 2 albums, there are some soloing. but yeah slash is more 80's than 90's its cuz i luv the use ur illusion twins which came out at the beginning of the ninetie's
he is not my favorite, but he is very good, seeing as other bands cover his songs more often than all the other bands combined. so many of the top bands cover bob dylan's music
kurt sang alright. he was good in some songs, but he really wasn't a skilled guitarist. my dad's probably better than him. same with paul mccartney. i know better bassists than him.
I can't believe you picked Buckethead to be #1!!! I don't necessary agree him to be #1 but I love Buckethead big time. His accoustic work in Octave Of The Holy Innocents album with Jonas Hellborg and Michael Shrieve is truly artistic. Don't forge to check Shawn Lane's music. He was massive influence on Buckethead. Listen to "Gray Pianos Flying"
(might as well include Primus' guitarist if you gonna include Buckethead in 90's top 10...)
Slash and Hammet were not part of the beging of the 90's they were the 80's and by far Cantrell is the best overall gutiarist then anyone in this top ten. I'm talking riffs song writing and the ability to sing
Slash and hammet were good in the 90s. Black album load reload. And uns n roses released the majority of thier work in the 90s. Jerry is my fav guitarist but i didnt want to be biased
You wouldn't be being "biased" b/c Jerry was better all around then them.. He's come up with Page type Riffs that will stick in rock n roll forever, I mean Jerry isn't the "riff lord" for no reason he's an ICON
the hell if he didn't, he sang on about 80 percent of chains songs, how you think they came up with those harmonies? Jerry and Layne's voice thats how
not bad...Not sure I would have ranked buckethead #1 but its your list. I may have tossed Dimebag in there personally. When you going to do top 10 vocalist of the 90's---maybe someone with the initials LTS would be numero uno---RIP LAYNE
Where the fuck is Marty Friedman? Possibly the best guitarist of all time?
Templemtv 1 week ago

Maybe in the list for biggest pieces of horrible shit who ever picked up a guitar.

@bechok111 He plays the solos, and all the guitar parts on the albums, but live, he get's Jason White to play them so he can warm up the crowd.
