I'ts a great shame that Frode had to leave. His devastatingly mournful voice, remarkable range and genuinely brilliant lyrics were undoubtedly one of the things that got me into Funeral in the first place. I sincerely hope the new guy (Nedland) is as good. I listened to some of the tracks he was featured on for both Myrkgrav and In Vain and he sounds quite promising! and rest assured, this is not my real account name haha!

What can I say? By far, one of my most favorite albums of all time

It has the sentiment, the strenght, the melody, the ambient. Is the album I play to think about life!!!

I was in a local music store and they payed this barren skin; for the first time in my life, I had to ask what they were playing and the album info

Inmediately, I look for it on Ebay, since in my country is very very very hard to find

I love every single song of that album

The Album is great, beautiful, sad. The follower "As the Light does the Shadow" couldn't compare at all, but was (especially on the lyrical side) still good. Though such a great song like "This barren Skin" shouldn't have raped by such a ... clip. The song is cut, lost a lot of it's atmosphere and the video... well, not MY taste.

From theses wounds it's the best doom album yet, and I heard a lot of the genre, it's even better than the old stuff of the band.

The vocals of Frode are epic and fits perfectly with the band, bringing a storm of real melancholy and hopeless feeling.

Really great song, well done! I don't know how anyone labelled you Funeral Doom though, Melodic Death/Doom fits like a glove. Thergothon, Evoken, Skepticism etc are an utterly different kettle of fish.
