  • I wish I had your energy Jeff! You're in such great shape compared to me right now.

I hope to it all in the next Month. I love you place! Was that a stereo in the fireplace?

  • @TheRadicalreels Hey Dale thanks for coming back again to watch. I don't feel as fit as I looked in that video a year ago since I posted it LOL Yes it's an unused JVC stereo, I use my computer and iPod more now for music. The fireplace used to be blocked up as i have central heating but I knocked it out and I built into an arch, the stereo fitted perfectly :-)

  • wow you are really doing great, i wish i was as fit as you

  • @miouth150 I am not feeling so fit at the moment, I need to do more haha

Thanks very much for watching :-)

  • i have just watched this for the very first time..you are an inspiration,my friend..stay fit!

  • Man i love this video.... dude i miss chatting with you....

  • You're some guy xx

  • Thanks for both your comments Maire, pleased you liked it. I had requests to do something like this, hope it will give some encouragement to others who have found themselves in an unexpected similar situation.

  • I really do like your opening credits Jeff.

  • Great video, Jeff! Inspirational and it shows that you are still so active!

  • Thanks Bernard I appreciate that :)

Glad you came by to watch, hope everything is fine with you :)

  • A true example of the power of human spirit. Inspirational my friend.

  • Thank you so much, I really appreciate your words :)

  • It's amazing how the human body can adapt.

And he had a good attitude like you which makes all the difference.

    All the best, Dave.

  • Thanks Dave for both comments, it takes some getting used to, especially since I was so fit and active before. But encouragement and support from friends and family helps the most. Now I am more positive in looking forward and not giving up :)

  • Hi Jeff, those snippets early in your video looked very interesting, I will have to watch those videos to see if you are as demented as I am...lol.

Around 30 years ago I worked in the Public Service (an oxymoron I know) with a double amputee who lost both his legs in the Vietnam War.

Whenever there was a power failure and we couldn't use the lifts someone would push his empty wheelchair down the stairs (3 floors) while made his own way down. He used to get the bottom before I did.

  • great video mate

    mikee

    ;-}~

  • Thanks Mikee, glad you liked it :)

It was great meeting you yesterday at Hyde Park :)

  • Sent by Julia, and wow you are very strong. You should try to use your positive energy to try to help others like yourself. I know someone that if he just used his sticks everyday his condition would improve and so would his demeanor and attitude towards the people around him. I am proud that you seem to have overcome the mental part of your disability, some people never do. Keep Smiling!!! You Are Amazing!!!

  • Thank you for a great comment.

It takes a lot to overcome the mental part of any disability, especially when your new to it.

It's a case of overcoming things on a day to day basis. There is always a new challenge to overcome around every corner, but with positive thinking anyone can do it.

It's comments like you just wrote that is the real boost to peoples confidence. Thank you so much :)

  • Zany as ever, Jeff .. but great to see "you in action" as it were.

Why did this cause such phantom pains though?

And can't the NHS provide you with a better-fitting and more comfy prosthetic? Persevere with them .. the ONLY way

Your w/c is identical to the one my aged mother-in-law (88) has .. in Halifax .. I will leave you to make the connection :)

Cheers from Coventry .. been away & got computer problems too here

  • Ahh Ivor haha. Good to hear from you.

Hope you get your computer sorted.

With all requests I have had I thought it was about time to do a video like this. I hope it's sort of inspiring to people not to give up, as many do that I have met :)

    ClaudeSirois

  • Thank you Claude, I really appreciate your comment and rating :)

  • Roadbikegarden sent me this too, and let me tell you sir, you are a real inspiration. You aren't letting anything hold you back. Way to go...

    David

  • Thank you so much David. With comments like this it really boosts my confidence to keep on trying. :)

  • I'm very happy with your video! And I feel shame with my laziness with just sit down and no interesting activities almost all of the day. You are great my friend, and I think I must take some sport activity to look fit like you! Keep on smiling and shining :)

  • I was a vary active person before this happened to me and I like to think I am getting back to the fitness I used to have before. It just gets a bit frustrating at times hehehe

I am so pleased you liked the video. Take care my friend :)

  • Hi! Julia shared this video with me, I can see why she is proud to call you a friend. You are such a beautiful person and I can feel like you've been through a lot but you are so positive and pure joy really :) I must say you made my day that much brighter! Good work with the exercise - I have to get more active, thank you for inspiring me to do that.

  • I don't really do as much as I should all the time. But sometimes, something I see or hear puts me in the mood to be a bit more active. Motivation is the key word :)

Thank you for watching. I hope it does inspire you a bit :)

  • Roadbikegarden linked me into this too. Such a fantastic and insightful video. Your positivity is catching.

    :o)

    Great work.

  • Thank you so much. After this happened to me I got a lot of inspiration from others in the same situation. Some give up but others really try hard to get on with their lives.

I hope this will help some people, it took me a long time to pluck up the courage to do a video like this :)

  • thanks Julia....I am out of breath watching and need more coffee! Cool video and some good ideas for the rest of us too....

  • Just to let you know I had to have a rest and a nice cup of tea after doing this hahaha

Thank you so much for watching :)

  • Roadbikegarden linked me into this. I have to say, like many people already have, you're a darn sight fitter than I am in upper body strength. I don't know what's happened to you at this point, but elements of your video (but obviously not the music) remind me for some reason of Pete Gabriel's 'Sledgehammer'! A good piece of filming, I wish you well.

  • Oh thank you so much for such a nice comment.

    Pleased you liked it :)

  • Amazing video and pleasant person !

    Bravo !

  • Thank you so much, I was not sure what to do to make this video, but I am so pleased you liked it.

It's people like you my friend that keep me going :)

  • Wow, Jeff. Honestly, you're much more fit on one leg, than so many people with two.

But this video proves that you've dealt with it very well and keep a very positive attitude towards it. Great work my friend. This is inspirational.

  • Thank you so much Reggie, sometimes it's hard to stay positive all the time. But I know with every down day there will be an up day to follow, especially when I get such nice comments :)

  • hey mimi me i like ur video.. heheh you are so very strong and fit and sexy MIMI me..:) mimi me You are most certainly a good example of what a person can do when his mind is made up. I admire you my My mimi me... i love this video so muh bby MIMi me.. hehehe u know mIMi me..? i think that the reason why u always keep tired lOl coz u do that ehehehe LOL:d i love us o much MIMI me ehhehe u are number are 1 mimi me.. u are so great in that video.. :)

  • Aww Thank you so much mini me haha

I don't do this all the time, but still always get tired LOL

I really appreciate it when I get a comment from you :)

  • Hey Jeff! I feel bad that you had to pay 2 days for that, but thanks for sharing. I gotta say, that was just awesome. So the prosthetic leg isn't working good for you? You do great without it anyway. You seem extremely fit, fitter than me, I must say.

  • Thanks very much Gerry, really appreciate your comment.

I have proved to them that I can walk on a prosthetic leg, but the ones they have made me are so uncomfortable I can't wear them for longer than 30mins to an hour. Any longer and I am in agony, they tend to dig me right in the crouch area and don't feel secure enough. They tend to make them in one way they have been taught and don't treat everyone as individuals when fitting, as everyone has different problems.

  • Very impressive, Jeff. I was amazed at your agility and ease of movement. You are most certainly a good example of what a person can do when his/her mind is made up. I admire you, my friend,

    Aegan

  • Thank you so much Aegan, I really appreciate your comment, you are such a kind person. The admiration goes back to you too. Take care :)

  • Amazing Jeff! You get up and down the stairs with one leg better than I can with two.

This is the first I find out about this. When was your leg amputated?

Loved seeing you exercise on the large set of silver testicles!! Ha ha!!

  • Hi Lisa :)

    Thanks for your nice comment.

The last op out of 8 I had during the coarse of having it amputated was in June 2006, due to a DVT.

I got a blood clot in the artery and it stopped the circulation and the leg died on me, worst pain I have ever experienced in my life.

As for the silver testicles hahaha, it's actually called a peanut ball LOL Another variation of the round exercise balls available.

  • Wow Jeff, you are so very strong and fit! I don't think I could have adapted as well as you have?

You are such a fascinating person, that I hope to meet in person one day! This video was very well done! I have grown to admire you more and more. You are a real true friend! I Love you! Rad

  • Tank you so much Rad, I always appreciate your comments and am so pleased you liked it. Just a bit of fun for the curious LOL :)

I have always been quite strong in the arms and sometimes don't know my own strength, maybe that's why nobody has ever messed with me before hahaha LOL :)

  • Darling -with those ears and that nose- who is ever going to notice you only got one leg ?

    still luv ya.

    You coming to Hyde Park????

    .x.x.x.x.x..x.x.x.x.x.x..x.x.x..x.x..x.x.x..x

  • First it was the eye brows, now its the ears and nose, are you trying to make me feel self conscious Julia hahaha LOL

    Glad you liked it.

Still not totally sure about Hyde Park yet, but I will try if I can get my friend to drive me there. So keep your eye out :)
