i've watched like half of the movies they used in here in both American and asian version and i ve got to tell you that the asian version exceeds the american horror level by like a hundred degrees.. haha there was this eon time my sister and i were cleaning and i put this on and we started walking around like the grudge until we meet each other in the middle of the room and then started doing ballet... it was funny if you don't think about it so hard

I agree.. there is no substance in american horror.. they depend on only gore and nudity and showing women as either sex objects or individuals to be fucked and to show off their tits.. they rarely show them as strong and fully clothed.. Asian horror gets much more into character development and is much smarter and spookier..

This generation, American horror has become a huge let-down. Save for the odd zombie flick, it's nothing but remakes. Hollywood's still making a huge pile of cash outta it - but it also gives people in the European or Asian horror industry a much better chance to gain a fanbase.

Though saying that, there are too many Asian horror flicks around which are too similar to each other! But it's all worth it once you find the hidden gems out there.

I like asian horror films because they got it altogether, planned the story out for us to understand, and creepy music. If americans did that, and came up with something original instead putting random scary stuff with no plotting or the whole "based on this asian horror thriller"... I'd definitely watch it, until then, I'll just stick to the good ol' horror asian flicks =)

I'm not racist but I just can't seem to find these movies scary because the characters are non-caucasian (unlike me). For one thing, the characters live in (what I see as) exotic, orderly environments very much unlike the dilapidated farmhouses that I'm familiar with so I really can't feel a sense of dread that these movies' enviromnets are supposed to convey. I am thankful that The Ring was adapted for American theaters though, it really scared the bejeezus out of me.

i think that it was one of the japanese movies that i saw and is was about a girl with hair that grew long whenever it wanted to and it choked and killed many people. there was some curse i think. cause her relatives were salon workors. and it was sorta like the ring. anyway. when any one from her family did something with hair, that would be a cue for the hair and freaky stuff
