The Benzo (nerve tranquilizers) are a nightmare. I have been there. Much harder to quit than any illegal drug. Prescription Benzos should be banned from use.
Yes at 63 now - she still is a beautiful and successful rock star!!! I just saw her last month in Houston and she was incredible!! I think the doctor who put her on Klonopin was in it for the money only, knowing she had an addictive personality - I have been taking it for panic attacks and it does make you gain weight if you let it - when you get older you need to watch what you eat and exercise daily - Klonopin is very helpful to people like myself who have severe panic disorder.
I'd never admit to spending 1 million on coke...even if I were Stevie Nicks. I love Stevie, but she did swallow all those pills...I know what it's like, believe me. I don't get why she mentions Demerol, now thats something you could get you addicted.
@scottreno40 You also have to consider that this may not even include the drugs others gave to her. Drugs were everywhere, and Stevie being beautiful and famous, probably had stuff handed to her the second she entered a room. Mick Fleetwood said he was responsible for procuring drugs for FM (likely his roadies, etc. got them). I have a LOT of respect for Stevie. The detox from Klonopin was excruciating. That is a pain nobody wants, so head her warnings! Thank God she cleaned up.
God, I love that ,",It tells you what to do~ and I hate that.". That s should be me, but once you have tht kid, and you have an achilles heel the world can aim their bow at,,and something goes wrong..that call of the nightbird you gladly put aside t be a momma..well it comes in with the seath wih it says to your face,,.For the other voice is the one that stand on your back as you lay om the bottom of the pool, screaming ,"whats wrong with you?? What boss would you want???????
Ironic.. My best friend stsrtted using coke after seeimg how intense and spiritual it made a actor , he saw preforming.. Glad some famous celebs speak out.., goidcdr her.. And she doesnt seem controlling or judgemental like alot of people who quit.., stevie and sheryl are so cool..:) straight shooters..rare anymore~
Hey I was wondering does anyone have any 1994 interviews of stevie during street angel if you do please post, Yoututbe had some really good ones but took em down before I got an account. Oh by the way thank you for this you have some good stuff
it's sad that people even use drugs. drugs that are pulled our everywhere just so we don't feel the strictness of the world around us. so that the world would be completely unknown to us, so that we are so high, we don't see whats going on around us. i am so happy that stevie got out of that hell.
TY 4 Post SLN inspires me, and the fact she went to Betty Ford institute and overcame was a fantastic thing.. she had to keep going and she and LB are breaking up,when the big career in FM happened. She has to be playing with her 1st big Love.of her life and still be in his face onstage and recording booths, thats dern hard.. They are definatly soul mates onstage tho. So much wonderful causes and music come from this woman.Just so manyways I can go on & on about my love for FM and Nicks..
