Russia blocked Japan and helped China to gain back its land, while lost to Japan during Qing-Japan war. And Korean Queen was at the same side with France, China, Russia. So Japan killed her.

Japan had to do what ever it takes to invade Asia. Koreans think carefully it wasn't just Japan, after fall of Koguryeo kingdom (by alliance of tang & sillah) Korea suffered more from China. I am British born Chinese currently living in Japan...there's still a lot of tension between Japan and the rest of Asia even today, this kind of tension unheard of these days in Europe, for the most part anyway.
I'm an English teacher for adults, and children in Japan and I am told specifically to avoid the topic of war completely...I would love to talk about it as my grandad was captured and tortured by the Japanese when they invaded Hong Kong but this subject is taboo and is risking my job.

Okay so people keep saying that it was Korea's fault for not opening the gates soon enough and that Japan was just being smart. Well I admit that Korea did the wrong thing by not opening the gates. The world is where the strong and smart survive. On the other hand, if Japan really was so developed, why didn't their educations develop as well? They should've known better than to do this if they were so "developed." Like really, they can't just develop killing machines after opening the gates.

They should've learned how important thinking twice and taking responsibilities for actions are from this long conflict they have initiated. What they are doing to Koreans now by not apologizing and lying about history is just as bad as what their ancestors had done.

Wow. I just did a fifteen page paper on everything in this video. It's pretty darn accurate. Empress Myeong-Seong and her family kinda ruled Korea because King Kojong wasn't as competent, and she tried making alliances with the Chinese to protect them against the Japanese, but it blew up, and that Emperor Misura killed her, then burnt her corpse, and killed her servants. She's one of Korea's most legendary heroes, and it's obvious why. Her husband did what he could though to save her...
