Our car seat covers are made to be closed ONLY when transporting an infant from a house/store to a car and vice versa to keep the cold and elements off their face. They are not air tight when closed, but once in the car, the flap stays open to allow them to see and air to circulate more freely. Never allow any type of covering or blanket to remain directly over your baby's face!
Also, I don't know where you live, but In climates such as where I live (South Dakota), it is extremely important to have something over an infant's face when the weather is well below freezing and the wind chill can freeze open skin in a matter of seconds. Sometimes there is no choice but to transport an infant in that type of weather and our car seat covers provide a safe, easy way to do so.
Isn't that putting your child at risk of not be able to breath or smothering themisince it it goes over their face?
