In GH2, the HOPO's in GH2 have a smaller timing window (to HOPO) so if you strum early you will still hit it which makes songs like Misirlou, BatH, Six, The Light that Blinds and Thunderhorse easier.

WT is almost a no fail on HOPO and beyond don't know how anyone can say 3 and b4 is easier

But i prefer strumming every note more often than not

A) it's more intense and a challenge hitting more notes

B) you can only blame yourself then when you miss something

C) I get a better feel for timing knowing what beat i'm on etc.

Guitar Hero 3 has the biggest timing window, thus making everything easier to hit including HOPOs. Guitar Hero 2 has a small timing window so it's harder to hit HOPOs and Guitar Hero 1 has a small timing window, but the HOPOs are fucked up and almost impossible to hit. World Tour has a timing window between GH2 and GH3, and that's the kind of timing window I like.

GH2 is the best timing window I ever seen, In GH3 it's like impossible to strum fast strumming sections, in GH2 it's harder, but more fun when you hit it. And WT sucks because they just stopped charting hammerons in parts like Post Insanity in Through the fire and flames. also, when there is strumming where you can use the HOPOs, you HAVE TO use them because it will mostly count as an overstrum. please check the video again, my comment is too long

I'm the same, i just don't trust the HOPO function on GH1-3, GHWT is alot easier to HOPO so i vary.

Try Guitar Hero Metallica, you just have to think about the notes and they play by themselves :)

GH3 was easier to pull off the H'ons/H'offs. than GH1 and 2 thats a no brainer but still was unresponsive half the time.

I just prefered not bothering with it all together most of the time. GH:WT is easier and and GH:Metallica is the easiest of all for H'ons/H'offs.

In GH1, you had to play the HOPOs like on real guitar: always hold down the lower note. For YB, you had to hold down Y when you pressed B.

In GH2, you could tap each note individually, but the timing window was a bit tight. The same system remains in the Rock Band series.

In GH: Aerosmith, Metallica and World Tour, the hammer-ons were like in GH2, except with a bigger timing window.

In GH3... no front-end timing window.

to daputti i agree so much. but i think rb1+rb2 have slightly a bigger timing window then gh2. gh1 timing window is saying hitting a note in gh3 is missing a note in gh1. gh3 is so easy when swaping games im not used to using gh3 hopo or when i swap to gh2 i cant do gh2 hopo leaving me failing on the bluenote of freedom in jordan. but i totaly agree with daputti

GH:M has great hammer-ons. It's the same as in GH3, except with a front-end timing window. But it definately wasn't as tight.

The whole point of hyperspeed is to spread the notes out, how does covering half the notes help at all? All it does it make the notes come faster, it doesn't spread them out at all...

its a psychological thing i guess.

its hard for me to explain how it works. what i'd suggest is that you try it yourself and you'll be able to see for yourself.

put on GH1 (or GH2 without hyperspeed if you dont have GH1) and play a song with the towel covering the screen in the same way that i have.

then take it off and play the same song again, it will look like its moving a lot slower.

its not ACTUALLY making your own hyperspeed as such, but it psychologically makes you think that it has hyperspeed, and it sorta acts in that way.

try it yourself - put a towel over the screen so it covers part of the fretboard, play a few songs, take it off and play a song and you should be able to see the difference.

Nice FC, that one zig-zag around 2:52 always screwed me up, as well as consistency in general. FCs like this are a lot harder without a practice mode. =\

on the activation at the end of the solo, if you don't whammy the SP sustains at all and go up right at the beginning of the BYRRYBBYRRYB, it'll last exactly 4 measures, and unless you squeeze, it'll run out right before the orange sustain SP.

That doesn't make any sense at all. Why would you less your reaction time? That isn't at all like Hyperspeed. Hyperspeed makes each note more distinct by spreading them out, basically like reading a larger font.
