i think that all descendents of nations within Habsburg monarhy are proud on their heritage, culture and war stories..

for me Habsburg monarhy was the first attempt European Union... many nations share each otker culture all united in common goal...

I have read all comments: who loves Russia, Serbia, dislike Germany etc. Want tell a few world for czech monarchists: We have not problem with any slavs nations, their are our brothers. We have do not hate Germans, Austrians, British etc. - of the good heard. We belive in restoration of the strong monarchy, because alone we are weak. Together we were strong. We are more clever, we dont want to repeat old mistakes. We want to be "somebody", not "nobody". Cg to all, who live in monarchy system yet

One more thing, friends: When you talk about Austrian Army, dont forget slavs soldiers: Czech, Slovak... and other nations (Italians, Romanian, Serbs etc.). Vision of Habsburg monarchy have still many friends in countries like in the Czech Republic. You need to deal them like brothers, dont make the same mistake as Habsburg did. Too many independet states were declared in 1918 because of misunderstanding of the royal family. Many of us belive, we can be united again under FAIR rule from Vienna.

My great-grandfather was in it too. I still have the silver medal he received for bravery in combat. This is what started me to collect military medals. Very nice video, thank you. :)

It was Austro Hungarian politic who forced slavic people fight each other. We the pride slavic people deserted from austrian army into the hands of russian army. Under russian army we created GLORIUOS CZECHOSLOVAK LEGIONS.

My great grand father, 2nd Lietenant of Austro Hungarian army was one of them.

thanks for the video, interesting photos and illustrations, the Austro-Hungarian army of the first war was certainly up against the odds, especially having to fight on such numerous and diverse fronts, but it equipped itself excellently, here in England there is great respect and regard for this Army, especially the performance of the Artillery regiments, thanks again and Best Wishes,,, : )

Good English diplomat:) Well, friend, sometimes I think UK, France and specially USA did great mistakes after WWI and WWII - especially Washington, who allowed to sell weapons into hands of partisans fighting against empires (speaking about their support of rebells in Franch Indochina). Empires had fallen, USA had their "open trade" in former colonies, but you can see the world of today? Europe is unable to anything, I fear the future.

Some people (even educated people) say about WWI: "Oh that military admirable Germany, who resisted 4 years against all Europe", and that is false, because Austria-Hungary (austrian, hungarians, poles, czsheks, bosnians, croats, romanians) lost also a lot of lifes in the same side of Germany. And also the Turks, and the bulgarians!. But the most horrible sufferings went to the nations who had the war in their soil: Belgium, France, Russia. All in the other side...

A sad of a great empire, it just fell apart in 1918 the hungarians withdrawing their part of the army, the poles and other minorities deserting. 400 years of military history became just that-history.

I appreciated your comments about unacceptably offensive language. Let the dead of good will rest in peace. My view is that the dismemberment of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was a tragedy because it weakened central and eastern Europe, allowing Nazi and, later, Communist imperialism to move into a vacuum of little, vulnerable statelets. I know the various subject peoples wanted self-determination but could this not have been achieved within a loose federation under Habsburg auspices?
