  • The bars back in the sixty's and seventy's look cool it fun in easier to do.

  • its crazy how like a level four nowadays could have been an olympian for example the vault

  • @seanthefriendlywhale They also use to vault without a spring board or beat board, they would just jump off the floor. I don't believe there is a clip in my montage, but there are videos on youtube somewhere.

  • I think my favorite were the 70's and 80's ..its amazing how much the sport changed

  • this is SOO cool. if i were doing gymnastics in any of theese eras, (except 2000) i would probably be dead by now.

  • The girls in the 60's and 70's were complete badass.

  • I love the 60's bar routines and Vera welll I just love gymnastics ^^

  • I know I love how they did the bars in the 70's and the 60's I did not like

  • lol at that 70's yellow springfloor

also i cant believe how close together the bars were in the 60's 70's

  • waooo

  • unevens are so close together!!

  • Those 80's gymnasts were beasts, they all were, the 80's just struck me as very intresting for some reason...

  • thats amazing. i could never do something like that ;)

  • thats not 2000's vault table

  • dayom must be scary doiing that

  • whos the girl at 2:10 ?

  • your mom

  • Incase you're still wondering, that is Olga Strazheva, a Soviet who competed in the 1988 olympics and the 1989 worlds. She won the bronze in the all around in 1989. That clip is from the 1989 Europeans.

  • Thank you so much for the complete information...

  • i meant 3:25 soz

  • whos the girl at 3:23?

  • Cheng Fei

  • Aisha Gerber of canada

  • ouch! bars would kill me!

  • those are some ridiculously long tumbling passes in the 80s... wow...

  • All these gymnast did a great job, considering the equipment they worked with. I bet today´s gymnasts would find these moves difficult, the ones on the floor in particular. Today is a different story, but mostly because the equipment evolved. Anyway, this is where gymnastics comes from and these ladies paved the way.

  • i never thought of it that way, you're totally right. i always just thought of today's gymnastics as a lot harder, but it never occured to me how much the modern equiptment helps.

  • Very nice montage

But this is only female artistic gymnastics

  • omg you should look up 1930's gymnastics they would get on the bars and pose then move and pose and they only did roundoffs on the floor

  • I wish I could have put so much more in this montage but there's only a limited amount of time.

  • @freestyleskiing24

what do you mean there is a time limit? at the time you made this, wasn't the time limit 10 minutes? you only used 3 min and 36 secs

  • 2:30 IT'S FANTASTIC!!!

  • The thing that is consistent throughout the years is the good form, the good posture that is required, it's beautiful.

  • the 60s is like level 7 skills now lol! =]]

  • well their vault is what we drill for our level 4 practices.

  • Check out that first vault. Did they have a separate event back then just for fat chicks?

  • Yeah, she's real fat...

  • The 60's and 80's had some amazing syuff, especially on the bars. It looks painful. I used to do gymnastics but quit cos i thought they were going to slow, i wanted to do all advanced stuff. If i had carried on i would probably be in competitions now lol. xx

  • ha i could have won the olympics in the 60's!!

they dod like level 7 skills lol

  • lol look at the first girls hair

  • at 2:02 see she's in the 1996 leotaard not the 1984 leotard

  • no she is wearing the 1984 leo

  • no she's not the 1984 didnt have the full stripes!!!the 1996 leo did!this person just put her in the wrong alot for that particular time!

  • but what im saying is that she's wearing the 1996 leotard!

  • uh you have mary lou in the 80's in her olympic outfit when she wasn't in the olympics till 1996!

  • Mary lou was in the 1984 Olympics where she won the AA, and floor, in the 1996 Olympics Lilia Podkopaeva of Ukraine won the AA, and Floor. plus The soviets were never at the 1984 Olympics, cause if they were, they probably would have won the AA

  • no she was only in the 1996 olympics!if she was in it 2 times thats pretty cool

  • but what im saying is she's wearing the 1996 leo when she shiuld be wearing the 1984 leo

  • Yeah, do you remember actually having to bend at the hips to do a giant on bars. That was my era!

  • who sing this song?

  • pink u and ur hand, they spell it weird

  • i love the bar routines!

  • HEY KAITLYNN~

  • WOW! that bar routine at the begining was fantastic, everything nowdays is so similar but that was just AMAZING

also that tumble from 1;51 to 2;00 was SOOO long, how can she not be dizzy?!

  • Bad music. You should have tried something more creative and dramatic, there are a lot of songs...not Pink!!!

  • omg they are amazing

  • Nice video, just to bad there is no male gymnastics in it. Or maybe you have one of those too? :D

    Truly a nice vid :)

  • wasn't that olga korbut doing her flip on ub at the beginning of the 80's segment. wasn't that footage from the 70's.

  • No, I believe she's German, She was one of the gymnasts who ties for 3rd on bars at the 1980 Olympics.

  • ya hellooo ??? where is rom in the 2000s ??? ppffff ... no .. really a very nice montage ... original .. just the song on pink doesnt really go with it ...

  • Sorry, I just picked some of my favorite moments, but if I had more room, there would be more ROM.

  • excellent

  • that girl from 2:53 has the weirdest hair!

  • I think Ester Moya's hair looks normal

  • i luv the back tuck on high bar iam so gonna try that as soon as i have a harness and huge plushy mat also

  • i love this video its soo awesome i wish i was that good!!!

  • Actually it has changed ALOT!!

Take a look at the tumbling!!

    much different

  • it hasn't changed much. the bars are farther apart and the vault has recently changed.

  • wow!!

  • HAH i could have won the oylimpics back in the 60's =P

  • LOL! ME TOO! =D but too bad, i was born in the extreme end of the 80's - december 1989!

  • I wouldn't be too sure about that for SEVERAL reasons. It wasn't ony the easyness of the tumblling...you had to be graceful as well. NOt only that if you were born then you would have been trained just the same.

  • And no springs on the floor x some times only wood. and the bars and beam where wood and very unforgiven.

  • lol i kno me 2 =]

  • nice video it awesome

  • nice montage! everything has changed so much

  • wow that is really cool

  • awesome

  • great vid..but no Kim Zmeskal in the 90's. she was the premier gymnast of the late 80's early 90's

  • You put Korbut in the 80's section! Or is that a different gymnast that did the same skill on bars?

  • Dont think Gymnastics was EASY in the 1960's folks.....just that gymnasts today maybe have it EASIER with the beam padded, floor bouncy, bars wider apart and more plyable etc etc.........

  • If anything some of the more artistic elements of the early years...MANY gymnasts TODAY couldn't accomplish....some of that GRACE and artistry, can't be taught to some of these migit robots (ahem Ferrari)

  • You should have really included Korbut in the 70's section to give a fair view of the way forward.

  • omg their poor hips! (on bars)

  • And what about the best moments of Korbut in 1972? :(

  • sorry, I did'nt have enough time, maybe next time

  • :25 is BAD ASS!

  • this was a cool video

  • the tumble just b4 2 mmins is quite good lol buti think i'd b like world champion in 1960s

  • boy have things changed

  • lol i would rock in the 60's at floor!

  • when gymnsatics was easy

  • I liked it!So strange to see how this sport has progressed over the last 50 years.

  • great! well done!

  • is this your first montage? it's quite good

  • No i just never post any of them
