@ishellreal Is an offering a substitution? Look at it this way. If you were in jail, I could either replace you in jail, or I could pay a price for you to be set free. The price that was paid sets you free.
@harmono man cannot pay an infinite penalty that only Jesus Himself could pay. If someone else who is perfect (Jesus) pays for your sin... and you could never meet the demand of perfection that Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 5:48. Then that means that only God who is perfect can meet that standard in your place (He died for your sins) so you could become the righteousness of God in Him by faith in Jesus (2Cor 5:21).
HE WHO KNEW NO SIN (JESUS) BECAME SIN, THAT WE MIGHT BECOME HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, 2 COR 5,21, SO YES HE DID BECOME SIN IN OUR PLACE. THIS IS ONE VERSE THAT POPS UP TO MIND BRO
@workerforGod That's very good, but think about it. If Jesus substituted the punishment for all our sins past present and future, then we would have no accountability for our sins. There are many verses that suggest that, but I can't come to the conclusion that Jesus paid for sins as a substitute for our punishment.
Isaiah 53:10b "... when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,..."
