Stumbled on to this ..... Very Nice... I suppose a lot of really great performances like this have been lost .... Nice of you to upload and share ... Thanks!
Yes he did and it was done in Mr Haggards great style with so much feeling. You can feel the pain as he sings. What a all time great person,That is why I enjoy his music so much. you can tell he is a real person.Thank you for your intresting reply. Jim
This performance was on 9-2-90 at the Cathedral which was the funeral service for WT 'Pop' Scott - after the Sunday AM service where Dr Gene preached his Resurrection message. The first hour and a half of the funeral was music performed by Jake Hess, Merle Haggard, John Jordan, and Mike Nelson.
I visited your page; great job singing Merle's songs. Thanks for commenting here;
we meet all types of people here & I'm pretty much used to it by now. What is written I stand by 100%. Thanks for your support. Keep on singing those good songs.
Perhaps; however, even the devil believes in Jesus Christ. Gene Scott preached Jesus as the only way of salvation-which is my belief. Admitted, he was crude in many ways but I'll not judge him; what about the devil that's in you and me? I'd hate to compare the # of souls I may have led to Jesus up against Dr. Scott; God knows. A beautiful song sung by a great singer and wonderful musicians; this is all that's intended for anyone's enjoyment. Have a nice life; thanks for stopping by.

This man's vocal quality has always moved me. Just gives me a feeling I can't put into words.

Wacoagents,
Thanks for visiting my page! It is an honor to sing Mr Haggard"s songs. Your welcome.
I will support him anytime. I loved the song by Mr Haggard if I could only fly at Mr Scott"s funeral ...it was very fitting.
