I was just wondering did you wear your usual clothes with this hair, or you adjusted the clothes to 40s, 50s?? i am having troubles incorporating this hairstyle with my modern outfits.. :)
I wear scarves a lot when my hair is a mess so I'm definitely going to try this. I cut all of my hair off sadly and can't do victory rolls any longer, but I'm trying to master the pin curl. :] Thanks for the lovely video.
its so good to see tutorials for longer hair! i love my long hair but vintage styles don't really give me much variety. i got used to the bracelet by the end lol
I love love love this tutorial! I still really have to work on the rolls, because I am NOT getting those, but practice makes perfect, right? This is the BEST tutorial I've seen on how to tie the scarf... I've watched MANY and just haven't quite gotten it until now! Thank you SOOO much!
@LisaFreemontStreet Thank you so much, dear! :) I need to cut my hair sooo bad too... Although I'm torn between leaving the length or going with the middy again! hehe.
@XoFelonyXo I usually do a loose ponytail or bun for a regular net-style snood. But another option is to curl you hair and just pile it inside. The only problem I have with keeping my hair in a net-snood is that the netting isn't closely woven, so hair tends to start sticking out after a bit. So a fine-mesh hairnet (available at beauty and salon supply stores) in a shade similar to my hair keeps things in place underneath. :)
I love it! I never realized that you had to put TWO rolls together to make that whole front section. That just made trying to a 40's hair-do so much easier!
SOOO wonderful have tried now and its so cute. But i have a problem with the victory rolls they are just gettting far too big and lose :c It would be wonderful with one video with tips on that. Anyways love it! Hugs
@swissmiss2584 I'd love to! :) Although I haven't done a proper Victory roll 'do in forever, so I'll need to practice at getting them equal size. haha!
Marvellous tutorial -- I have tonnes of my grandmother's silk scarves and wasn't really sure what to do with them. Perhaps you could do a mini series on this, or have some more scarf hairstyles? That'd be awesome. In any case, good to see you back on yt again and looking forward to future videos :D
Im going on holiday next week and this is a brilliant way to keep your hair from getting damaged when sun bathing. Will be doing this look alot. Thanks x
I just wanted to tell you how helpful I find your hair tutorials, all the other vintage style gurus I watch mainly have thin hair, so I sometimes find them impossible to recreate, but as my hair is similiar to yours you make it ten times easier to learn from/ recreate. Plus you have amazing styles to get thick hair relatively out of the way lol. Thank you =]
This is a brilliant variation to that turban style I usually wear, definitely giving this a go, it looks super cute!! :) Thanks for another fabulous tutorial, keep 'em coming, you're a wonderful teacher!! :) x
I love this hairstyle so much that I've been wearing for the last two or three days. All of my friends loved it.

tomofromrearth 8 months ago
@tomofromrearth Not sure I understand... you mean like a greaser/rockabilly? I would say I'm not; I'm more vintage than rockabilly/rock-n-roll. :)

Wow I love how you do the rolls...my hair is much shorter but I wrap it around my pinky first and it works just the same. Thanks so much

do you ever have problems with the snood sliding off the back of your head?
TheRedkdawg 9 months ago
@TheRedkdawg That is why I pin it in place! :)
elegantlyamused 9 months ago
if you were to use a snood instead of the scarf, what would you suggest doing with the leftover hair instead of the messy bun/pony?

@jenjenjuicyfruit I always find mine at thrift stores and vintage clothing shops. Etsy and Ebay are good spots to look online too!

It would be interesting to see the 40's pic if you have it and could load it to your blog/facebook.
