  • tssssss

  • LOL, there isn't a single painting in all of Egypt that shows them "walking like an Egyptian". I don't know how that silliness started.

  • Very innovative!! I like it!!

  • these are Egyptian imposters from Caucausian mountains...the true Eygtians are black African...that you cannot take away

  • @zxa105 hahaha and mummy why not black

  • I am sorry to see ignorant racist comments from arabs and eurocentrics . Even greek historians proved that ancient-egyptians were black indigenous people from Ethiopia . So ,go read , Herodotus , Diodore of Sicilus , Plutarquos , Strabo , Aristotle etc .The arabs conquered Egypt in 639 after christ , it is very funny and pitty if they reclaim the african egyptian civilisation and pyramids of 10 thousands years old before the europeans and asiatic invaders .This is not ancient-egyptian culture !

  • @sajokal20 Nubians were totally black, when later - i repeat LATER pharaohs were Afro Semites, the pharaohs who were white were "Horus god on earth", don't repeat nonsense you hear from others, respect egyptian mythology or fuck off

  • @VendPrekmurec ahahahhahhahaah Afro-semites , are you crazy , even the arabs scholars and the jews who are the semites , said that the ancient-egyptians were blacks , the son of Ham . Read the Bible of the semitic jews and you will read that the ancient-egyptians are from Misraim ,the son of Ham ,the ancestor of blacks nations , as well as Nubians ,and the children of Canaan ,before the jews in Palestine . Go study history before saying false lies and foolishness !

  • Silly.

  • can i know the name of the song?

  • no pharoanic no

  • Comment removed

  • queste fighe regine ne vorrei una per me e gli farei fare tante cose tutto quello che vuole;)

  • beautiful costumes.....nicely done.

  • @ Delicia: ive learned bellydancing and dance quite well ive been told (not to say very well)...i've performed many bellydance shows too...but THAT explanation is really amazing. i didnt know. but if you think abotu muscle control and giving birth, it really makes sense!

  • Natacha atlas i love

  • @andrekatina is this the of Natacha Atlas????

  • This is not pharaonic bellydance. Even in normal bellydance we don't "interact" with the men that way. There are also more elements than doing snake-like movements.

Nice costumes and coordination though, like the fancy handwork.

That said, I'm afraid the modern steps don't quite go with the music. It became a little robotic because so many steps were repeated. I suggest changing the title :)

  • @dagez Relax, it's a MTV-esque fantasy. The boundaries of what is/is not bellydance are pushed every day. What is "real" Pharaonic dance? The genre was created by early modern dancers like St. Denis who tried to copy positions they saw in Egyptian art. We have no evidence that any dancer ever used these stylized positions. It's all a romantic fantasy.

  • @tanfouk

True True, what's pharaonic? Kinda hard to distil a dance form from still drawings, esp since the egyptians had such a unique way of portraying people..

I do agree that belly dance is constantly evolving. I still wouldn't quite call this dance pharaonic but it's got great moments.

I like your term "MTV-esque"! Reminds me of MJ's "Remember The Time".

    :) :):)

  • @dagez What's important to me is that audiences always enjoy the sultry type of music and glitzy costumes that go with pharaonic.

  • @tanfouk

    and the elaborate sets :)

  • @dagez You don't know anything jack asshole.

  • i thought it was still cute

  • oh stop whining ,,I like it,,so,,what have you done lately?

Talk about cheerleaders,,others do,,and others sit on thier asssss on the side and whine

  • the name of the song is leysh natarak by natacha atlas...

  • I thought it was cool! Perhaps not authentic, but then again, it's hard to know, there were no videocameras back then!

  • hmmm, it looks like faraonic cheerleading...what for you put in choreography this cheap "erotic", no idea...in category cheerleading maybe maybe it's fresh idea, but in dance cathegory, for me as belly dancer - sorry, I don't like it...

  • FAIL.

  • Nice performance

what's the name of this song?

  • I agree with dani.

This is an EXTREMELY POOR representation of Pharaonic dance and of bellydancing in general. You may as well have been taking your clothes off for your male counterpart. It's performances like this that still put a stigma on bellydance. And that cheerleading bit at the end is out of place . . . rubbish.

You should NOT have been allowed to perform this. What a disgrace.

  • i agree, i only like the music! do u know by the way name of it?thanks

  • I'm extremely ignorant when it comes to this kind of thing, so forgive me if I sound presumptuous, but wasn't this style of dancing originally designed to entertain men in the first place?

  • I'm glad you ask. Ususally people just make that assumption without even asking. According to my studies, belly dance originated in Egypt to help women give birth. That's why they roll their bellies. This helps women in labour to push the baby out.

  • hmmm, was it sort of therapeutic or more magical in nature?

  • And magical too :)) those dances included ritual ones as well.

  • kind figured.

  • it is mostly in egyptian dance

    =D

    as far as i know

but nowdays men can also belly and arabian dance

  • what is this egyptian cheerleaders????????''''''''
