I would say male, though I've had a couple of DARLING female dogs throughout my life, so (if you're considering a golden retriever) I think you're good either way, so go for the one with the most 'personality!', rather than based off of gender.

Go to a reputable breeder as well. I'm getting anothe one in 7 weeks. She'll be 10 weeks then. I have an 11.5 year old Golden now, the love of my life. IF you get a Golden, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Go to a dog show and talk with a Golden breeder as I did BOTH times. You will be MUCH happier you did. Cesar Millan has a great book out now. Golden Retrievers for Dummies is a GREAT book too. Idk i think i would prefer a male dog becuz female dogs have there periods just like humans do and i have had girl dogs and i hated that time of the month lol but yeah nuthing wrong with them i would just prefer male dogs ;)

contrary to a lot of other different animals golden retrievers don't vary much from male to female. Yes females can be a little catty sometimes they are just as fun and they are both sweet. You could do what every your heart desires (:

Wow! 3 weeks and already walking around really well! That and for that many puppies in that small of an area...they were VERY quiet! You know you will have some very good dogs when they grow older :) Very well behaved!
