I catch ur drift but I surf as well and I wouldn't say that Laird Hamilton and Kelly Slater and Andy Irons were NOT true soul surfers. matter of fact i would say they are and are also some of the greatest and most innovative in the sport they paddle in to whatever they can but then they tow in when they know they must Laird is a pioneer of towing in. He is a pioneer in surfing. Try to paddle into something big like they tow into sometime. You wont. you cant.

well i guess "anything is possible" like some say..... but with the laws of physics..... no human body can paddle into something that large and catch enough speed alone with catch the momentum and force of the wave. thats why the best of the best tow into things that big. We are talking bigger waves than this one here in this video. but who knows? anything is possible. when you do try though..... go ahead and video it for us all. :)

Your board is probably made from PU and fiberglass, which emit VOC's. You probably don't use non-toxic, organic wax, so you are personally poisoning the ocean every time you paddle out. I am a huge supporter of protecting the environment and ocean, but tow in surfing isnt the problem. WE NEED TO BUY CLEANER SURF PRODUCTS!!

After looking at it some more, it does look like Jaws...albeit a minaturized version. But bro, Its a 15 foot wave at best but a nice one at that. Jaws is weak compared to Mavericks. Here out in California, the air is colder, the water stays at an average of 50 degrees, the cold brings water molecules closer together making ocean water heavier, if you fall at mavericks then you have the chance of hitting the rocks, there's undersea caves @ mav's that you could get sucked into, the locals are worse......... I could go on forever

Its physically impossible for you to get enough speed with your arms paddling to catch the momentum of the wave. once you start getting into the big dawg waves, you need to be towed in and you need to be strapped to your board.
