  • Hav you ever thought of raising the gas tank? Giv it more of a bobber look?

  • @tokkmmann - I had but something didn't look quite right with the tank lift. Too faux bobber IMO.

I sold the bike a year ago.

  • Check out mine 209golightly work in progress. Not sure what to do with my blinkers

  • Nice man thats great job u did......always love to get one HD but with the situation right now in Greece you can only....steal one ha ha ha !!! Enjoy your rides man glad to see people with good taste on bikes(there is some reeeeally shity ones on youtube)

  • How did you do your headlight mount and dummy lights, looks cool

  • I see your above comment regarding the licks solo bag. I just bought one and I'm trying to put it on my 09 nightster but it doesn't seem to stay in place (falls forward). I didn't try the zip ties but they don't seem long enough. Suggestions? Thanks!

  • Man I love your bike.. I got an 09 Nightster and I have a little work in it. But I gotta change it up. I like how your bike is not chopped beyond reconigtion that' it's a Nightster.

  • love it man

  • I like it but I think it would be a bit better if you got white walls for the front 2

  • @nimaxx38 When researching bobbers I saw a lot of guys just add the WW to the rear. I liked the look. My tires are getting worn so I'm going to go with WWs on both and see how I like that look.

  • Hi, I really like the bag on ur bike...Is that a Licks (brand) bag? If so, I've been looking at purchasing, but wasn't sure as to how difficult it would be to install? Do they include all of the instructions & hardware one would need to install on a 2009 Nightster? Thanks.

  • @salsabaila Licks provides everything you'll need. I chose to use zip ties instead. It's easy - check your inbox.

  • GREAT JOB!!!! Way to take the bike and make it your own! Props to you for doing all that work and not being mechanically inclined!

  • hi , Im 6 2 and when I sat on a nightster I felt it was too small for me do the ape hanger change that because you seem to be tall as well.

  • @garth50 I'm 5'11" and prefer a stretched out feel. The apes help but even with the forward controls, I had my stock seat modified to sit back another 1.5". You may want to look at the Street Bob.

  • Sweet video series! Thanks for sharing.

  • uups i haven't seen your list. please do not mind about my question. i got it.

  • excellent! good job. made it perfect. i have been watching many nightsters, yours is the best. if you don't mind i'd like to ask you what kind of bag is that u have on the side? how can i get and put it? thank you.

  • Hell of a great looking bike you did. I am currently waiting for my Nighster delivery. In a long run it would follow similar task of modifications..... Go for it

  • Hi, Like the look of the handlebars, have a 08 Nightster as well and was thinking of putting the same bars 14". I'm 5' 7" tall will it be to hight for my arms ? How tall are you ?

    thanks

  • I covered the chrome on my forks with black leather. The sell fork covers on eBay but I made some out of an old leather jacket looks pretty cool

  • Have you had any problems with the fishboy clamp fading mine is and it's only a couple of months old

  • @Tattoofreakster After a year and a half I haven't noticed any fading.

  • the bike looks great! i've just started working on mine and i was wondering if there was any way to black out the chrome on the forks and the shocks?

  • @jnightster I don't think so but I'm sure can purchase all black shocks. The upper fork tubes slide into the lower fork tube so I'd think any powder coating or paint would just rub off.

  • sweet. thanks for listing all your mods too...that helps guys like myself who is just starting to work on my Nightster.

  • Did u get new cables for the 14" apes? Or u just use the cables from the HD mini ape?

  • @lchen6 - I did. -H-D Black Diamond braided throttle, brake line & clutch cables

Look at the description for the vid and you'll see all that was done.

  • Hey man went through and watched all your videos for the bike and got to say I bet that was pretty dang fun doing almost all of the mods just you and your buddies. I am looking to get a nightster her very soon and seen a ton online, but none come close to yours. Badass brother. Quick question if you don't mind. How did you get the speedometer under the gas tank like that? Was it tough?

  • @PoPo2387 - I just used a tachometer mount which screwed right into the coil bracket. Go to HD Forums and do a search for speedometer relocation. You should get a lot of hits - its where I learned from it. Look for Fishboy who crafted the handlebar clamp.

  • did you keep the stock V & H baffles in? or are they after market....

  • @redgrizzly9 I didn't modify the V & H pipes. I kept them stock.

  • @bdorr67 cool. they sound really good... thinkin of puttin them on my new 48 sportster i just picked up. great job on the bike though. gives me some ideas for my build

  • awsome nightster, top job wanted to know if the saddle bag was something you had made or was it sold as a kit? I`ve been looking to fit one of those bags to my nighty.

I also dig the front light (mounting) looks cool, good work.

  • @sammyoz1 - Lick's Cycles makes them. Google "Licks Cycles Solo Bag" and you'll find them.

  • Awesome job man. Really creative and super unique. Your bike is an inspiration!

  • Looks great...Thanks for taking the time to video and post.

  • looks good mane. im thinkin bout gettin a nightster as well.-- should put another white wall on the front. itll look sikk

  • Did you use the same clutch brake etc. Cables on the 14 inch bars as the 12 inch bars and if so do you think they would work for 16 inch

  • Isn't the speedo longer than the clamp is wide?

  • @Tattoofreakster - Ah, yes it is. When I removed the speedo from the stock bracket it exposed a white casing. After placing in the clamp some of the white was exposed so I just wrapped it with black electrical tape. Can't even tell.

  • The speedometer is wider than the autometer clamp what did you do to fix the problem

  • @Tattoofreakster Hey. I don't know what you mean. The speedometer fit just fine.

  • @maki6296 - hope I understand you question correctly. The make of the handlebars are Burly - 14" Burly Narrow Glide apes (14 inch = 35.56 centimeter). The handlebar grips are the Harley-Davidson nostalgic grips.

  • fantastic work!

  • Great series of videos. Inspiring not just for the beautiful mods, but also in your video production. great job!

  • Nice Job. :)

  • They disassembled them first.

    Go to hdwheels

  • Nice bike. I'm lookin at buyin the 14" Burlys. What size clutch and throttle cables are you runnin?

  • I went with the Harley-Davidson black braided cables intended for the mini apes they sell.

  • amazing job man! really amazing bike!

  • why would u prefer to take speedo away ? dont get it

  • I still have the speedo, just moved it. Wanted a clean look. I saw others do it on one of the HD forums and liked it.

  • A+++ Great bike bro

  • For your Fatboy headlight conversion, did you find a bolt-on bracket application or is that a self-fab job? Very well placed.

  • The headlight came with the mount. Just drilled through the lower fork bracket to mount. Found it on ebay.

  • very nice. although i dont understand the one whitewall tire.

  • Nice rims

  • pretty cool nightser!

  • Hey Mike, always great to hear from a brother firefighter.

I'm 5'11" and took the N for a demo ride with mid controls. Couldn't stand it. Took another one with forward controls for a ride and was much more comfortable. Even so, I had my seat customized and wanted to sit another 2 inches back - I like to stretch out.

I've read on the forums that guys over 6' have no problems with the N but you may want to research a bit. Have you looked at the Street Bob?

  • I knew a guy about 6"4 he rode a regular sportster 883 with mid controls for several years.

  • I know guys that ride pit bikes. Doesn't mean they don't look funny doing it. ;)

  • Sweet Bike. Where did you get the saddlebag? It is the perfect touch to a great bike.

  • Hey bro, love the work! What did you do with the indicator lights when you changed the top clamp?

  • The Fishboy clamp (see HD Forums) is designed to hold the stock indicator lights.

  • Sweet ride. I'm glad to see the oxblood rims. Puts a new spin on the bobber

  • Is this the "famous" Fishboy's clamp?

  • It is indeed.

  • Like the firefighter tribute. Why not get a matching front white wall tire? The black wheels looked better too.

  • Great turnout! I have an 07 nightster and plan on going by this for inspiration. Watched all 8 and loved it!

  • Sick Job Dude!!!

  • for my forward controls i used beer taps from Budweiser, just machined them down to the right side. they came out awsome

  • Outstanding job man. Watched all eight videos. Two questions: how tall are you and are you using forward controls?

  • Thanks! I'm 5'11" and do use forward controls.

  • Gotcha. Love the looks of the Nightster but I'm concerned about my 6'4" frame fitting properly. Again, outstanding job.

  • Check out the Street Bob. Probably would fit you better and looks great.

  • Yeah, don't really dig the Street Bob. I like the old school feel of the Nightster. If I had the coin, I'd go for the Crossbones.

  • Hey I just happened to have ordered these bars do yo have the part # or length for clutch, throttle and idle cables. Thanks would save me a lot of time.

  • i have ben researching the nightster for a couple years because its what i want my first bike to be and i've seen almost every modded nighster out there and i have to say that yours is absolutely the sickest i ve seen. everything from the deep red wheels to the wrapped dragpipes just screams oldschool! LIVE to RIDE, RIDE to LIVE!!! Keep rockin bro!

  • if you dont mind me asking, where did you get all the cables from?

  • The cables are H-D Black Diamond brand. I bought them through Latus Harley in Gladstone, OR.

  • Great thank you. Im not sure if you would know or not but i have the harley mini apes on my nightster right now and i recently bought the burly narrow glide 14" bars. should the cables fit or do you think i'll need to replace?

  • You won't be able to use the stock cables with the 14" Burly's.

  • where did u get the headlight

  • On ebay. Do a search for 7" Fatboy or Heritage headlight and you should get a hit.

  • Nice videos man.... I watched video 1 of 8 and couldn't stop. Felt like I was watching a TV show...I had to see what was gonna be worked on next. It's nice to see what it takes to really take the bike apart. I'm getting ready to buy one and will eventually make some mods.

  • awesome vid man...beautiful bike...

  • hi dude nice bike. can i ask how tall you are? thanks man.

  • I'm 5'11"

  • Cant figure out wich one I like more? The bike or the shoes! Just joking. Good job on the bike!

  • great looking bike!!! im curious on how the speedo is mounted on the bike. i bought the auto meter mounting bracket but im not sure on where exactly it is mounted.

  • Anywhere you want it!. Tap and screw, tap and screw....

  • looks and sounds awesome bro! just got a 08 nightster, looking to throw some aoes on there!!! might have to take yours.

  • Congrats man looks and sounds great.. Love it..

  • Awsome!!! Where did you get the bag from?

  • It's called a "solo bag" and made by Lick's Cycles. Google them and you'll get a hit.

  • Great Job on your bike!!! I was wondering the same thing about the last episode. But, I think it was totally worth the wait.

  • Local powder coater charged me $300 for 20 pieces.

  • what took so long to get this episode out? lol. Well, i'm still workin on getting me a nightster but no luck so far. i was wondering what the handle bars you got are and where i might be able to pick up a set.

  • Too busy riding! The handlebars are the 14" chrome Burly Narrow Glide Ape. I bought mine at Amazon and they also come in black.
