  • will seroquel making me stop talkin in my head?

  • People may check with Psychiatrists and try the following site. Type 'theroadback' on google and click the org site.

  • I am going off sroquel xr cold turkey and i am having terrible withdrawals you name it and im having it i feel like i cant function and im staying in a daze i dont have insurance i lost it and now i cant even see a regular doctor any suggestions on what to do?

  • @magriffis33 If you're still having problems (I know your post is 2 weeks old), but what you need to do, if it's intolerable is to go to the ER withdrawal. If you're in America, you can't be denied assistance from the ER. Also call your local dept. of heath and human services/welfare, or it's equal and ask for free clinics, and prescription drug programs that cover some drug costs. Good luck.

  • Thanks for your honesty. at least you have areal life.

  • I went cold turkey off of Seroquel XR back in May on a dose of 400 mg a day and hallucinated like crazy for days. I didnt sleep for three or four days and constant random images and noises ran through my head. I was seeing and hearing things, it was HORRIBLE. I still take the drug but I make sure NOT to miss a dose or ELSE :(

  • Beautiful video, very interesting. You are able to convey your experience to others, and to me in particular. You do it even ironically sometimes, and this is good, you are really good at that. I am not american, and I had to work a little now and then to get what you said (for example at 0:20 when you say that you almost successfully....- I think I got the sense of it all anyway) Good luck!

  • Wow u sound like me. I went thru all the OTC & RX sleep aids. My pcp gave me Seroquel last week & now even when I am awake I feel like I need to go back to sleep!

I have never heard of Atarax but I will inquire on my next visit.

  • I was prescribed 1,200 mg a day! Yes, 1200!!! Waaaay over the recomended doseage. I gained 100 lbs too really fast.Funny how when I moved out of the state where I was living and being forced to deal with alot of BS in my personal life, I asked my new Dr to PLEASE wean me off of it.It screwed up my Thryoid BAD! Ive been off it for 2 years now, and have lost 40 lbs, but it has been very difficult if not immpossible to do where before I ever took it, I could lose weight easy. NOT now!

  • Thank you,

I have been prescribed 25mg per day. But the horrifying dreams & weird wake-up make me feel like a zombie. Thank you again

  • now i have nothing except a matress in front of my tv.. i live my life on my back,, asleep. its no fun.. i hate it.. i think of cutting back, but when i do i cant sleep at all.. and i start bouncing off the walls..

  • heyy, appreiciate your video.. im on 450mg of seorquel a day.. and no one in my life understands what im going thru.. i live alone, my house is a absolute mess coz i dont ever have the energy to clean.. and people think im an absolute pig.. its embarrasing.. so i dont let people into my life anymore.. im so alone.. this drug, as much as it has helped me with my blackout skitzophrenia.. ii fear it has done more damage than good... before i had a life.. i had people.. i had a nice house....

  • sutch a nice person, hope you well

  • dumb bitch

  • You're cute.

  • If you cant sleep try melatonin or valerian root instead of quells..

  • It beats taking Thorazine or Navane with Cogentin.

  • People should also know that there is a new drug used to treat insomnia called Silenor. Be careful with it. It is just a lower dose of the drug that caused my problems with Restless Legs Syndrome. I've learned that virtually all anti-depressants/anti-psychotics are terrible for RLS.

Powerful drugs like Seroquel are nothing to take lightly. If you don't suffering from a psychosis it's best to avoid them. Be careful too if a doc prescribes such drugs for insomnia or anxiety. Just e careful

  • I want all the drugs--all of them!!! Yummy!!!

I got off of Klonopin. Now, off of Seroquel. OMG!!! You talked about the heavyness!!!!!

I've been wondering about the heavyness. I can't get up off the floor!!! WTF is this???

And!!!! RLS Why don't they talk about Seroquel and RLS? God help us all.

  • @MonacoBlast I've never had the need to take anything like Seroquel, but I do have severe Restless Legs Syndrome either caused or triggered by the anti-depressant Sinequan, prescribed for anxiety immediately after my dad's death when a mild tranquilizer was all I needed.

Be very careful with psyc meds that can cause RLS. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

  • @keliata I agree. There's only one drug that helped me. Pramipexole. I suffered for a year before anyone took me seriously about RLS. I know Seroquel caused it.

  • @MonacoBlast Thank you writing that, it took me years to get a diagnosis of RLS and when I mentioned the Sinequan, they just basically dismissed me as mentally ill for taking it. I have really severe RLS with symptoms during the day. But thank you for writing the way these meds make RLS worse. The Requip and any anti convulsants help alot. The only help I got was when I got Tegretol for seizures.

Had that not happened...I'd suffering to this day.

  • its used at 25 to treat insomnia long term while ambian does not long term

  • I have a friend that is schizophrenic, and his doctor prescribed this drug for him. He took two pills, and says that it caused him to throw up violently.

  • I was on Seroquel for over ten years. Now I have been off for over two and I still have withdrawal. Acupuncture, vitamins and exercise have helped.

  • Love your Vids! Keep'em rollin!! TNX

  • Marijuana does help with seroquil withdrawal symptoms.

The effects of the THC will help counter act the withdrawal.

  • @mattsaysfooey that's true dog. word up ever body no one should fuck with seroquel no fucking joke everone my blood pressure was 189 over 120 and i got some weed and winged off hard as fuck and yes i whent craze. but after 100 day's my personality and rationality plateaued to completely normal. i can sleep for 11 hour's all on my own. there's pills are really dangerous.and in my own belief servqual is causing more problems than its curing.

  • @mattsaysfooey that's great but mary jane is illeagal!!!

  • ya, I can't sleep if I stop taking the stuff, yet, it gives me heart arrythmias before falling into a half sleep. was sex a part of the equation for getting off of the medication? cause thats what I have been really thinking?

  • Im tryin to get off it too... for 3 days i felt like wanting to throw up...im trying to fast by just eating fruit for the whole day.....arrgh...that nauseous is so irratating, upset stomach...i think seroquel that is commonly prescribed to help u sleep is A BIG MISTAKE

  • God you just blab on and on and now you are making me thinking of killing myself.

Just say that you are an idiot and need to be in the hospital for life.

  • What I would like to hear you address is how you feel about the fact that the price of taking these drugs is a lifespan shortened by 25 yrs? To check my facts, pleases read Robert Whitaker I'm Director of Public Education for The Law

Project for Psychiatric Rights. Please, Liz, wake up. You are a beautiful, talented woman.

  • I take seroquel ans also have the fatique, It really helps me sleep tho, I'm on 200mg.

  • well, I've been ingesting, digesting, consuming around 300mg of seroquel since 2006, and I don't think anytime soon I'll be able to lose my seroquel/quetiapine dependancy. I've tried to replace seroquel with herbal sleeping remedies, but they just don' t knock me out, I hate how difficult it can be to breathe with the seroquel, but it does neutralize my thoughts to the point of some sleep. Anytips for getting off of high dosage of seroquel/quetiapine??? lots of sex and herbal remedies perhapslol

  • Seroquel FTW. Except the weight gain..............i gained alot of weight on this med >:|

  • i've been of seroquel for like a year and i don't need it anymore,,, it made me like a zombie when i took it and gave me some serious weight gain and i ate everything in sight but glad im off seroquel and i feel more alert and awake in the real world...

  • i would have killed if it wasnt for seroquel, fatigued? im ok if im alive! seroquel really helps schizophrenia. for depression? ppl seem to be moaning about side effects. its helped me 100% even the side effects help.

  • having mvp heart mis beats, ever had this?

  • Seroquel or i will be on roof

  • you look cute, why did you start on that drug?

  • thanks...

  • i taperd off in 30 days with 32 grams of pure indica and valerian and last but not least a brand new tempurpedic bed i sleep better nowdays then back when i takeing sarakill.

  • and this is all in ure head just to let u know the doctors like brain wash u with all this crap because like they say that u go crazy back to ure own life and dont listen to them i am trieng to fight back but they are saying that i am crazy so what can i say to them back not to make me look crazy i think i am fine its just the side effects from it and people ar human not corporations labs maniacs lol but yeah

  • I dropped down from like 100mg of Seroquel to 25 mg, and then just quit taking them. I've never felt better in my life. I'm so glad the whole pharmaceutical industry has been exposed to me as a sham and a lie.I was also on Depakote for 6 years. Depakote totally fucked up my digestive system and gave me GERD, and I was only taking 750mg. My "manic episodes" were really just Depakote withdrawals. The doctors know it, too, but they will never tell us that. Disconnect yourself from the lies.

  • @medic8edman is it true that depekote destroyes ure digestivef sysytem because i have problems with that and i went to my stomach dotor and i thought it was the way i eat and blaming it on that and i always new it was the medz like i take depekote and it doesnt help any more for me i noticed that if i take it i get rude and stuff so like why are the doctors lieng to u if it doesnt work at all and just ruines ure digestive system w tf right?

  • @dj02tc5 well, all the official research says is that depakote causes a slight irritation in the digestive tract, which is what causes the increased appetite. They say the irritation is mistaken for a feeling of hunger. but i say, ANYTHING THAT CAUSES SLIGHT IRRITATION TAKEN IN HUGE DOSES EVERYDAY WILL CREATE HUGE PROBLEMS. when i quit taking it, the GERD and the constant diarrhea went away. I eat pretty crappy food, but my stomach is fine now nonetheless.

  • @medic8edman yeah i agree with u on that thank u i kneed as much as help and proove i can get to the doctor if she says no lol but yeah so yeah

  • Quit being a corporation's lab rat and get off of this poisonous filth they make you put in your body. It wasn't scary at all for me. They want to make you think you will "relapse" into some psychosis. And maybe you will, but they don't know that. Fuck the doctors and the corporate pushers. I'd take a full on two month long manic episode over poisoning my body with any more bullshit. Believe in yourself and get off the drugs.

  • She is trying to get a point across about it being bad for you.She is trying to get off of it.I cannot get off of it due to the place I live and if it is killing me then so be it.If I don't take it I am told that I will be delusional about things.I think I have a tolerence for these meds as I have been on them for so long.It started out as being depression when I was 15or 16 Oh and I was suppose to be alcoholic as well.Do they have these drugs in Italy?I wonder.Or do they just take life slower?

  • i am about to be put on seroquel, i just want to know it if makes you "halluniciate" i know i spelled that wrong haha...

  • To say that she looks like Palin is a total insult to this woman!

  • You should really stop pumping all these meds through yourself. If you need something to help you sleep, smoke a joint..

  • what a tool. get off the meds!!

  • oohh no not this nut job again ! Dam this youtube tool for exibitionists ... I think I clicked on this vid because she looked like sarah palin, I was expecting to see a narssictic woman babbling on.. Oh wait ! I just did... lol

  • This drug has helped me. I was so manic I couldn't really function well and had so many symptoms that stopped my focus and helped me recognize and control my behaviors. I do sleep alot but it's ok.I don't work often so it's ok. Reading alll of the comments here and on some other videos here maid me tearful.I still have the depression and other behaviors but Ibelieve this has helped me.3 weeks ago she suggested depakote .I took it a week. I willtell her.

  • I appreciate your honesty and laud your efforts to quit the dreaded 'aytpicals'. For me it was used as an off label sleep and anxiety aid. Two months ago after trying to overcome what had become a hellish depression I decided to "check-in" and when I arrived was told I was having life threatening Atrial Fibrillation (a serious cardiac condition which left untreated can cause a cerebral hemorrhage). I spent 5 days in the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit and found out that Seroquel was the culprit....

  • @geoandbear I think that went to me. Yeah I was given it as a sleep aid and anxiety too. They told me I could have a heart attack if I was to go off fast, so I definitely wouldn't want that to happen! I am so sorry you had to go through that! How terrible that must have been for you! I really hope you are doing well!

  • @geoandbear Well I thought I was doing good and now I have bad dreams, anxiety, headaches, basically feel like crap! Maybe I went down to fast? Who knows but I am suffering from a little chest pain. I think I may stay on 200 mg, I would rather sleep that feel this way. This medication you can't just go up and down. And I thought I was doing so good but I can't function during the day or remember things someone told me a minute ago from lack of sleep. Flat out, this sucks!

  • @geoandbear is this specific to you, because i take 25mg seroquel daily and i dont want this to affect my heart

  • thats exactly why i wouldnt start with pills of any kind

  • I am happy to say I am down to 150 mg and sleeping well. A little anxiety. For people that are on a high dose for so many years the slower the better. I have been dropping weight like crazy. I hope others share their stories as you all helped me, and I thank you for that. God bless!

  • @ScottishMissMoxey i went from 200 to 25 slowly and i havent lost much weight just 4kg in almost a year but i had put on 20 in a year..atleast im not increasing weight at that rate anymore

  • I was originally on 600 Mg for almost 9 years along with Klonipin. I am sharing this with others as I don't want anyone to hurt themselves going off. It was given to me for sleep. I got myself down to 400mg and then consulted a doctor, she got me down to 200 mg by going down 50 mg every 2 weeks. I got stuck at 200 mg so I started weaning 25 mg and only going down when I felt I was comfortable. Please wean slowly, Seroquel first then Klonipin I was told by my doctor. I hope this helps you.

  • @ScottishMissMoxey me too i just took a 600mg dose of that shit everytime i go and talk too my shrink i get prscribed more pills instead of thearpy they fucking drug me i hate doctors with a passion

  • @modernwarfarenoob You need to find a doctor that will work with you and quit giving you something to replace the other. 600 mg would probably put me into a coma. I am sleeping on my own for the first time in 9 yrs. A drug induced sleep is not "real sleep". I was a victim of a crime and could not sleep, if I can do this anyone can! I had to find a new doctor and you can too!

  • @modernwarfarenoob You need to find another doctor! Going up and down is not a good thing! I spent a lot of money to get off of this. My first doctor wanted me to stay on it so after 8 years I found a new one. Most doctors are afraid of a lawsuit. I consulted on how to go down and I have been dropping weight like crazy even at 150 mg. It is addicting and I have researched this drug. I talked to a pharmacist and she said to go off gradually, no side affects, a little anxiety.

  • 1998? they say it's a new medication. and it doesn't have side effect.

    take XR

  • 1998? they say it's a new medication. and it doesn't have side effect.

    take XR

  • 1998? they say it's a new medication. and it doesn't have side effect.

    take XR

  • how much seroquel were you on when you started to decrease your dose?

  • grats for cutting your dose. I'v been taking 300 mg for the last 2.5 years and it helps but i wish so much i could get off it. The weight gain and second day hangover sucks.

  • Yeah I have insomnia from both seroquel and Zyprexa I heard of people being not able to sleep for months......

Drug companies know how to fuck you up......and that is about it......

  • @thatgracefulledge i completely agree. i take serequel and was on zyprexa when i was 12. i have jus now got a new diagnosis that explains everything. im still addicted to serequel. zyprexa is very dangerous my mom took me off when i started choking after falling asleep eating. it was horrible.

  • @qtpa2tee97 Unfortunately closing of the throat is a side affect of Seroquel. It is a nasty drug and I actually feel better going off of it. I had a home invasion and worked at a prison and had bad things happen there and I could not sleep so they gave me this drug specifically for sleep. I have researched this drug and it just isn't good to be on. I don't want to be on anything and it was my decision but it was hard finding a doctor to get me off, so I am weaning slowly.

  • @ScottishMissMoxey @ScottishMissMoxey i have pretty much lost everything good i had thanks to serequel. im overweight, i sleep too much, im still depressed, and nothing has changed rly besides my weight nd my life. congrats on weaning off of it.

  • @qtpa2tee97 You need to concentrate on you! I raised 2 children and was always wanting to take care of everyone around me. It wasn't until my best friend told me it is time for me, it is a change but I don't have anyone telling me what to do anymore and I am not such a sucker. Little steps, one day at a time as we never know what tomorrow may bring. Smile, be happy, and I pray your life becomes a happier one!

  • @qtpa2tee97 what did u you have to use it in the first place, it helps me with my schizophrenia, as an anti psychotic

  • @flyorra I HAVE SEVERE POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER WITH HALLUCINATIONS, PARANOIA, ANXIETY, FLASHBACKS, DISSOCIATION, FOR A LOT OF REASONS. I USE IT FOR THE SAME REASON. ITS MY ANIT PYSCHOTIC MED.

  • @ScottishMissMoxey i havent really tried that yet, but i find it rly dangerous to quit all together. my pyschiatrist still believes it is NOT addicting and that i DONT withdrawl, when she is the reason im addicted. i went to 25 mg, to 600 and back up and down. it rly needs to be outlawed. its not easy. keep up the hard work.

  • hi there ... its nice to see you again. I always enjoy your vids.

Im wondering if u know anything about alzheimer's... caregiving stress?? .... my mom suffers from alzheimer's she is only 65. Its really really hard on us.... really depressed over it all. let me know

    thanks ...

  • These kind of drugs should be illegal. Especially for people like the person in the video. She looks scary, man :D

  • ... looking forward to your next video - I'm wondering if you were able to stop the Seroquel completely, without any major changes in mood/depression - especially after 'big things' like international travel, moving, kittens... sometimes even slight changes in my meds can be like throwing my life into a blender - I hope you are doing well <3

  • i hope it all works out for you

  • Nice video 5****5

  • I need help. I feel I am about to snap & do not know where to go and have no one to turn to. I don't have any insurance & very little money. I have been off my medications & out of touch with my doctors for years. Can anyone help me direct me where to go or who to call. I think I might have a day or two before a complete breakdown. I don't know how or why but this time I can see and feel it coming as if I am looking in from the outside. This is not a joke or a prank. I live in Jupiter Florida

  • i'd say just go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital-preferably one that's affiliated with a medical school. they will have to let you see a psychiatristt, who can get you to the next step. he or she will have a list of local agencies you can get with, free or on a sliding fee scale. another thing is see who in jupiter handles mental health issues. finally, if you're really feeling really badly phone a crisis center hot line and talk with someone who will help you.

  • I just stopped taking it yesterday. I was on it since 98 or 99. You want to hear something crazy? I wear glasses too. (blurred vision is real). I have been on 25 mg for the last 2 years to ween off. The real trick is 25 mg is still to much to stop cold turkey. Cut that pill in half, and use that for a week. I feel my vision changing back towards 20-20. We should chat.

  • Seroquel causes severe drowiness at low doses, the higher the dose, the less tired u get. Either way, I've been on it for 1.5 months to help control, I guess, bi polor with hyper mania?? Not sure, only thing I know is besides being tired allot, I cant remember things after the past 2 days. But drug is suppose to help me with my temper. Life sucks being sad or pissed all the time.

  • ideal dosage is 600mg taken at night before you go to bed. The first 300 cuts of the high, the next 300mg cuts of the low but also gives you a boost. Stick with it, some people on You Tube are not manic depresives group 1 catagaory and are misdiagnosed as they have just mild personality disorders. Seroquel has saved my life and I am grateful for it. Yes there are side effects but the release of the mental illness is a great freedom to have. It also can make you more creative and content.

  • Oh and to add I was put on 200mg seroquel about 6 months ago and that was on top of my usual 3mg lunesta, I didn't really need it but docs at the psych ward perscribed it, I dunno. I gained about 20 lbs while on it and have experienced some nasty fatigue. So i'm weening too, down to 50mg, then 0 next week. Lunesta works fine never drowsy after sleeping on it, try it if you haven't ;)

  • (QWEH-TIE-UH-PEENE) ;) much love

  • Different meds cause insomonia! My son has a hard time sleeping. He takes Lexapro20mg and Abilify 5mg. It aggitates him though and he gets angry ! not good!

  • seroquel and zyprexa go together hand and hand. they have the same job.

  • maybe trazadone - 25 or 50mg at night may be the thing.

  • I took trazadone years ago. It'll defiantely make ya sleep. Heck , it'll make an elephant sleep. lol

  • Is seroquel anything like zyprexa?

  • Yes in that at high doses seroquel is also used for schizophrenia. Zyprexa is a HORRIBLE drug, the mortality rate on that drug is 1 in 125, and the average patient gained 20 lbs a year on average on it. Stay away from Zyprexa, Lamictal is better.

  • Good to see you again! Sorry to hear about being unemployed, but you look wonderful!

  • I'm not trying to sound ignorant but have you tried sex to help you sleep?

  • LOL

  • I'm currently unemployed myself, and I find it a challenge to deal with the kinds of rude and insensitive people I have to reach out to in the workplace. It's depressing in and of itself. How are you holding up? Are you actively looking for work now? I'd like you to consider a video about that part of your life, as it can be a situational trigger for feeling anxious or depressed.

    Best to you.

  • I just got off Seroquel too, now I take Depakote. I'd rather be on Seroquel

  • Liz, I really enjoy your postings. I'm glad to have found you, subscribe to you.

  • I take 200mg of Seroquel at bedtime and last week I hadn't put it in my pillbox and I didn't realize. I couldn't sleep at all and really felt terrible. And really not sleeping is a problem but it felt like a withdrawal. So I would impress upon anyone that it's very important to be weened off of things with the help of your doctor (I'm pretty sure you would agree)...Maybe if you aren't working you should collect some of your columns and post them on your own blog.

  • It never fails your videos always help me put into words what I am going through. I think its awesome how you handled the seroquel situation so well. Sometimes that initial panic can be pretty strong. I was speaking to a nursing student today who was doing her psych rotation and she found that most patients don't know much about their meds or about their ECT treatments. A huge part of recovery is knowing about medication so thank you for telling what it is like dealing on a day to day basis.

  • I was getting tired of being tired on Seroquel as well, but couldn't find anything else that gave me the quality of sleep I needed. So for the past year... maybe a bit more, my doctor has been prescribing me 50mgs of Seroquel to help get me to sleep. Sometimes I take 25, sometimes 75, depending on how I'm feeling.

If small doses are working for you as a sleep aid, I'd suggest staying with it... good quality sleep is vital to our recovery.

  • I want to second that, I think that proper sleep is half the battle....I wonder if anyone else is finding everything much different 10 or 15 years into a proper diagnosis. I

  • slow and steady wins the race (the psych meds race at least) =)

  • yay youre back!! .. keep them videos a comin! :P

  • you seem so composed for being on such heavy meds

  • Good to hear from you Liz! Even people not prone to depression get bummed going from Italy to Philly. ;-) Seriously though, it sounds like you're coping well.

Ack! I'm unemployed too--been for months now. :-(

ps--I think I saw you at the Trenton Ave. Arts Fest (I was a volunteer there) back in May (unless that wasn't you).

  • kwi-TYE-ə-peen according to wiki.

Anyways, hope this change in medicine goes well. :3

  • How has the Pennsylvania Budget Impasse affected you and Philadelphia? I am temporarily laid off because of it.

  • Good to see you, Liz. Coming off of psych meds is hard. I made the mistake of coming off Lamictal too fast and it really wasn't fun. Just take it slow and good luck =).

  • hey liz good to see you again. How are your pets doing lets here and update on them

    Chris
