LIES! I Wish it really was as action packed-super-awesome-badass as this video makes it out to be... It makes me laugh when people in tech school are all packed full of HUA and think SF is badass.... Although SF provides a lot of opportunity, its all about luck, who you know, and who you blow. hahaha Goodluck guys
That is rubbish cam cream application at 3:48. None on the ears, neck or hands. He would show up like a torch on NVGs. One easy kill for a sniper. Oh, and take the wedding ring off.
Im working out in the Missle Field but since Japan need A1c's im headin to Kadena Hoaa so if anyone is an Airmen........PUT IN FOR ORDERS!!!!! as soon as the listing comes out
Oh God.... mustashes, 4 wheelers, camo paint, great acting, a scene with ONE hot girl in class, amazing tech, sweet guns.... I'm in SF and already embarrassed about being a "Defender".... then I watched this... And now I'm HUA!!!!!
Yo I remember watchin this video, and my recruiter lookin at me with a big smile!! now I know why... Fuck Security Forces this shit is for the birds.... Join only if you like kissin ass, and being on your knees.... no lol... Im serious
I remember this video! This is the one I watched at my Recruiters... funny how I don't remember ever shooting a M-19!! Or for that matter... learning how to use the night vision devices.. we were taught very breifly on how to use NVG's but that was it. M60's were phased out in like.. 2003 or 2004 I was an M-60 gunner. I hated that weapon with a passion.. but loved it at the same time as I was the only female 60 gunner for a while on my flight! :)
You missed out, and were in the wrong unit. We used the MK-19, M2, 81mm mortar, pluggers, thermal image, and NV stuff. Next time 204 SFS buddie. Thanks Defender...
I like the part where it says "talk to your recruiter to see if you qualify to become SF" when you can get a waiver to become one if you dont pass the ASVAB. lol all day and night.
the 569th US Forces Police Squadron still wears Brassards...when I served 2004-2007 we referred to ourselves as "the Last SP's in the Air Force" as our Brassards had "SP" on them.
A well made video. Too bad it doesn't show hours walking around a plane counting rivets in the cold as CIS, or trying to stay awake in a WSA during a mid.
or having to carry around 50lbs of useless gear/weapons, or putting up with constant harassment by back office. oh, cant forget about the 6 on and 6 month off deployment schedules some of us are on! the longer I am in the career field, the more I hate it. its time to get a new AFSC.
Actually, the AP/SP/SF field has worn brassards throughout its history. I never personally wore one either, but they are still in use in various forms.
Check out the photo from the DOD website. I put the link in the video description. The SP versions were out there and in use even after the field changed the name to Security Forces.
NI... NIGHT VISION? D... DID SHE SAY NIGHT VISION? I LOVE NIGHT VISION. guess i'll find out how different it is soon. leave for BMT in 12 days and SF is my job afterwards
I came into the AF in Dec of 2007 and that is what they showed me, they hooked me with the ATVs and MK19 (which I didn't shoot til I went TDY from my first and current base) as well as M60 (M240B now) but overall I am happy with my decision. I will be a cop when I get out.
This is the video they showed me 3 years ago when I first joined..... what the video did't show was how we watch aircraft for hours on end to make sure they don't float off some whair.
I did this from 85-89. Sicily to Sin City, but if I had to do it again I would have done something different. I would have joined TACP if I just had to get my fight on, but should have followed up with my recommended field of Administration 702. 9-5 job, good looking women. I had a lot of fun and met some cool people and that will always be greater than the negatives but if I had to advise someone, I'd say choose something else. It did help me become a cop in the world though.
They make that job seem like fun. It really sucks. If you like staring at a flightline for 16 hours out of the day then be my guest. Oh and Military working dog program can be hard to get into. Oh yeah and everyone hates you.
the info on this video says its from 2000 but man this video looks like its from the late 80's to early 90's lol. but i leave in may for bmt and im going in sf can't wait
its the best job in the airforce though because you acutally doing something at bases and down range, but comes alot of heart ache and time at work, being a cop or sf isnt easy, and yes we still have to earn our beret its not easy to make it through it and still can get kicked out, GO SP GO. 569th
haha first off, we have atvs but you will never use them, then there is the drving through the woods part, you will drive but most of the time its on base, but most of the training is true, but its funny how old this is,
Don't worry about shit. Just do it if that is what you want. When you get done with SF training you will feel like a fucking gangsta. You will be able to tell anyone what the fuck deal is. Change your mind kid. They'll send your ass to Minot AFB ND and that place is a LIVING HELL. You may not end up there but your chances are GREAT. Take it from me I did 6 freakin years in the AF as a SP and 3 of those were at "the not". Go be a Dr. You'll be happier.
My dad was a Air Force Security Police and was stationed there, he said is sucked. stupid rabbits would trigger alarms at like 1am and it would be SOOO COLD, and they would have to go check it out. It was miserable.
flight commanders, operation officers, squadron commanders, and a variety of desk jobs at the majcom level and higher. course there's only 1 general in SF and only a handful of colonels.
They get to boss around flights and squadrons of airmen all day..LOL. I seen a grip of "not so smart" sf officers. I would find myself looking at some LT's or Captain's and saying, "If he can do it, then i can do it for sure"..
You are shy because you havent had the training yet. I cant speak for the AF but I went through a civilian police academy to become a police officer. I was pretty shy myself but they train you on command presence and what not. Shooting guns, hand to hand combat training and stuff like that build up your confidence too. Once you have a gun on your waist and a nice shiny badge 95% of the population isnt going to fuck with you. You're the boss man and you do what the fuck you want know what I mean?
Hoorah to Security Forces. "Team 5-War to the Knife, Knife to the Hilt",Apr 2001 Grad, when SF tech school was still real, and you worked for the BLUE BERET, and earned it. i spent 6 yrs in the royal air force regiment, its the equivelent of the usaf sf, however we only train for combat we dont do any policeing , we are also airborne, and are trained to take airfields as well as defend them ....oh and strictly no women allowed!
That was my LE flight sitting in that class room during the video. We were there in early 98. Team 3 Bravo. Those were good times. I did 9 years and then hung up my boots. You young bucks out there enjoy you time while you're in. It goes fast. Take every oportunity SF gives you. Good luck to all. Be safe out there. When you do put the shield on and go to the sand box, come home safe.
You gotta be kidding me! This is so much different than in my years in the AF and Vietnam. Our trng wasn't anything like this. We got 3 weeks of combat trng then Hello Vietnam. When I came home I did the rest of my time at Scott AFB in Belleville, Illinois.
I couldn't help but laugh when they said that and showed the PLGR. That thing was about as non-user-friendly as you could get for a GPS system. "Forget using an arrow to show direction, let's have them follow these three DIAMONDS to figure out where to go."
Then your unit sucks. Get with a good ANG unit. There are a LOT of good ANG cops units out there, who most of the time are better trained than the AD. Tell your training section to get off of their asses.
