@Deadlyflameb1 theres the problem right there, body shots reduce your effectiveness with firearms. the bullets act similar to blades, aiming at limbs (especially the head) are where you see the maximum effectiveness of the weapon. aim for the head, the shotguns damage and spread will do the rest.

Really? I have one that does over 800 or so, and it takes 2 or 3 body shots to kill a walker...is there another stat that effects it's power? (And btw, the shotgun is NOT the most powerful weapon...We could go into this, but i just want to get my shotgun to kick ass.) :P

Been playing this game non-stop for 3 days straight, I actually can't get off it, It's so addictive...taking time out to write this is causing me a tremendous amount of effort, But I wanted to give credit where credit is due, and this game is just brilliant. A little rough around the edges and not the greatest game of the century but with a couple of mates this is the most fun I've had in a long time on any game. Will certainly last me until skyrim later this year and mass effect 3 after that.

Also, why the hell would you want a design mechanic like that? hitting a zombie with a high voltage weapon while in the water. WITH YOU. yeah...that's a good way to cause ALOT of deaths and reduce the playability...sure it'd be realistic. But it'd also make the game an absolute cunt to play properly.

And a linear game doesnt necessararily mean a bad game. I've played both l4ds total about 150+ hours and when your with friends on expert, for fun, its a whole different story. Dead Rising is linear too, you can only play around for a certain time before it runs out.
