  • The presentation/ the content / and the fact like most engineers you can be brutally honest. I am a retired engineer researching water, media achieving as near silence as can be achieved. The NB on air is giving me grief, so using standard clocks. My Game ?? realistic sim flying - cheers mate good work and tips ~ thanks

  • lmao this has to be one of my favorite vids from u Tom.

It's cool seeing the normal side of u... do u know the name of the song that was playing on the Rock station I think it was Nickelback ? the one after Saving Abel anyways great vid mate u need to post some more like this

  • 8:01 you dirty bastard. ;)

  • you dont need to ask if we watched it all you know we did lol. :)

  • he does phone review too...does it have the nvidia tegra

  • I don't see much point listening to what the microphone gets from the speakers that is then reproduced onto our own system. My cat just took some of the pizza out of the shopping bag x_x. For sound on my "rig" i use the altec Lansing FX3022. For extra ambiance i also have a pair of sony speakers from a hifi pluged into a cheapo tokay ampli all pluged into a Xonar DG. I wonder how my altec+sony+tokai compares to a "proper hi-fi" such as the one u present.

  • @SirShizuka

Yeah, also he said that he was only using the 96kbps streams..

  • Now I'm a car gamer, so there's a couple of avenues I'm chasing up.

    Cool story bro

  • @Androgenies It Corsair 2.1 speakers, but it's not the speakers that make all the difference mate.

  • thumbs up as usual and yeah I watched it... Nothing else to do anyway

  • Please, can anyone tell me what speakers is Tom using in this vid? I didn't quite catch it, haven't noticed if he did mention it. By the way, nice video, Tom! I might be building an HTPC soon. :)

  • 6 people aren't geeks

  • Damn you TTL! =) i had finally made a decision on a htpc case to replace a mini atx build thats aging and now the Origenae has thrown me. Looks like a quality build, any ideas on when/if youd consider doing a review?, or even a detailed show and tell?

  • Great phone Tom, that phone still hasn't hit the U.S. yet. =(

  • I'd for sure go for a smaller case, the fractal case is more of a server case in my mind. But that's just me.

  • I have the Denon DM 38 hooked up to an htpc. They are awsome for the money.

  • @JamJarchannel thats the exact one Ive got my eye on

  • 26:51 INCEPTION

  • Tom buy a nice 5.1 yamaha home cinema kit and go optical into the back of it

  • I got to the end! :)

  • Liked the packing away bit at the end with the music lol

  • I need to get some new speakers... I too live in my office/computer room!

    Sweet video TTL

  • i watched the end :)

  • the asus soundcard is nice but not great, is better than any creative sht!, auzentech o ht omega are the better one.

  • your phone said 17c ,woahh that cold i bet your rigs have no heat issues.

  • @sumaran72 think that was the predicted outside temp dude :)

  • I watched towards the end...twice.

  • a sound card doesn't compare to just using digital audio out like a SPDIF cable and the best combination would actually be a digital out from a Sound Card

  • Hi Tom, was really hoping you were gonna build a decent power htpc

with a 2500k and a 560 Ti and not in such a piddly case with a tiny power supply.

Love the shows keep up the good work

  • @adriancal This is just my current itx dude its just a media streamer for my front room, nothing to do with what I asked about on facebook :)

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms You where in the army or what ever you have over there...

  • @adriancal Silly people can't read/listen.... "HTPC" equals "home-theater personal computer"... it's for watching movies. You don't need a damned 2500K and 560 Ti for that, those are aimed at gaming. rofl XD

  • @phoenix7289 a lot of people game on their HTPC's! I am well aware of what the term stands for

have been building htpc's since before the term htpc existed.

  • M-ITX board in a E-ATX case!! that's so sexy, a corsair 800d or silverstone raven 1 xd

  • someone should make you some intro music or something

  • Aah the world of HiFi. Once you start you only want better and more expensive stuff. I'm by no means an audiophile but i have a pretty nice setup atm. An Asus Xonar d2x hooked up to my onkyo receiver, which are hooked up to my JBL SCS 178. Also have some JVC HA-RX900 headphones on the d2x. Although they don't sound as good as my JBL's they're pretty awsome.

  • that dancing @ 21:50 was hilarious :D

  • Have you overclocked your phone? Most phones of that class easily do 500Mhz + above stock

  • make a review on the galaxy s? :)

  • Is that Windows? Why not dabble with a linux distro on a htpc, much better imo if you are not using it as a pvr.

  • I havent finished the vid yet but thats a Raven 3 to his right isn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • just a quick question tom. How much would it cost to build a decent spec ITX? that could play games like World Of Warcraft or EvE but with fairly decent graphics ... but not games like Call Of Duty Black Ops. I am currently looking for something to replace the laptop that i have to play World Of Warcraft on. My main rig i use is for playing Call Of Duty Black Ops and the other high graphics games on.

Cheers for the info :), keep up the vids :)

  • I watched to the end. Fuck your random Tom :) love these kind of vids. Tom was there a particular viewer that got you to do these videos?

  • I read that Intel graphics on the "i" series have the poorest encoding and play back quality , I read that on a "Tom's Hardware" article.

  • Throw a low profile 6670 on that , Perfect for some COD or Portal 2!

  • Nice to see another "World of TTL" =)

  • Not that anyone really cares but I just got a used i7 2600 (Non K) , cheap AsRock motherboard 8gb ram , gtx 295 on craigslist for 300$ , the only thing I might change is the motherboard to a "Z" Gigabyte (So I can Run My Ram at 1866) , Otherwise it's alright for the price.

  • " aheh Email " made me lol so much XD great vid as always TTL!

  • let me build the systems, so you can go gaming :p

  • i was just wondering if sound cards are worth buying. I have an MSI P67A GD55 motherboard and a nice hi fi set up. Never bought a sound card but since watching this video was wondering if it may actually be a good idea. I love music.

oh and love the videos.. keep it up!

  • @matt2005bell Id personally never no use one dude. Cleaner the signal from your rig the better :)

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms thanks for the advice. have to say im envious of all the kit you get to have a look at, even if you do make key-rings out of amazing hardware!!!! i will just have to put up with my 560ti. any recommendations that you could offer for a sound car. I dont want to spend massive amounts of money but enough to see a tangible benefit would be good.

  • @matt2005bell the DX is a good value card dude. its only 40-50 pounds and is much much better than onboard audio.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms bought the card!!! thanks for the advice. I will repay by eagerly watching your channel!

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

I've had a DX for ages and it's great, recently I bought a motherboard with not enough PCI slots and so had to make do with onboard VIA Audio.

Using Logitech x-530 It's fine unless you're a proper audiophile where you wouldn't be using a lossless stream anyway... kidded myself cos of the £60 I spent on the DX, onboard is more than fine for 'normal' ears. The crap they quote about soundcards is the same as having 300 fps. It's impressive on paper but means nothing really...

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms almost anything is better than the onboard audio on most motherboards.

  • Playing music through Internet radio to then play it up on youtube.. Why bother?

  • @Reptilen86 only way I can do it legally

  • Hey Tim, thanks for the pointer to di.fm, very nice. You may like soma.fm, similar vibes. Enjoy.

  • Silverstone RV03 aye... I wonder how TTL will rate it. I think it has added more problems than have solutions in the Raven series.

  • Feel sorry for the people with poor sound systems as they will not be able to hear how good the amp, speakers and hd pc work together!

  • Actually I've just come home from night shift. Watched this video, and it made me chill out, after work. Thanx! Cheer up Tom!

  • Hm. Would it too much to ask you to make a review on the cooler? ;)

  • 13:50 These Nuts!!!

  • a-loo-mi-num

  • What is the song from 17:53 to 21:07? I'm really just wondering?

  • at 21:45 Tom has an American Pie moment in dancing :)

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Thermaltake Armor A30 Mini Case i think you should look at that one its brilliant im getting it for my home theatre

  • @brodysstuff Tom is gonna rage so hard at you for suggesting a TT case. Watch out.

  • @CamdawgzXXX I did not know that he didn't like tt I don't like them myself but that was just a nice case for what I need and I was just suggesting thanks for the heads up :)

  • so what are you doing with that raven 3?

  • HTC Is better!

  • Oh, and I did watch till the end mate :)

  • Nice video :) I really like that small Fractal case.

  • I'm glad you are discovering the world of Hi-fi audio. Please ask me any questions you have, I am quite knowledgeable in that area.

  • @doomtomb3 okay. what do you think of dre beats?

I think they are a joke and only teenagers who know nothing about audio buy them cause of the "bass"

  • @gumberly Exactly, there's generally only two ways to succeed in the world of audio equipment: base your product on sound quality or market the heck out of em. Dr. Dre Beats are HEAVILY marketed as being COOL. It's in all the music videos, HP laptops and tablets, and now in some cars. They just try to look appealing and pump a lot of bass. Severely overpriced.

  • Nice phone!

  • GO ON THE TIM

  • Very nice bud. I'm a big fan of the Fractals! :D Would love to see a m-ATX build in the Fractal Define Mini!

  • TTL don't you use Spotify?

  • yeah!! car gaming FTW

  • Nice vid, definetly no need for a graphics card with hd2000/3000 graphics for HTCP usage, i have a i3-2120 m-ITX HTPC and its really nice;)

  • Nice shelf speakers cost more like 600-1100 £ :P

  • M10 case, GREAT choice. Checked them out a few months ago.

  • Great to hear that you want to get back in to playing games again. :)

  • nice editing on this vid xD

  • Dont forget to overclock your tv.

  • @timetolivecustoms that's pretty cool but why do you need/want a dedicated media pc. I just run my playstation through my amp and failing that I can just stream to my T.V, if you can wall mount your's I would assume you can do something similar

  • Till The End!

  • Aye I have the Xonar DS haha it's awesome

  • Good vid Tom.

Will you do a good review of this lovely Raven RV03 what its on your desk?:)

I have this case 2months and Im really happy with it, but I would like to know your ttl opinion about this chasis;)

  • hey i had a itx build idea like use an old xbox case like old not 360 and put an amzing gcard in there iam just wondering how many watts are possiable in it and micro atx PSU

  • Awesome phone btw I have the s2 also I have overclocked it to 1.6ghz

  • Is he using IE?? LMAO!

  • 21:48 i believe they call that move the pipe cleaner XD

  • You need to get on Google+. Not on Facebook anymore so can't follow your stuff.

  • Thumbs up if you watched to the end :D

  • Haha Shake it!.

  • Oh and great vid, I like these new personal style vids.

  • For those of you that dont know HTPC is; Home Theater PC. I showed this to two people (wife and brother) because I wanted to get something similar, and they both said What is HTPC. So just FYI.

  • I like these personal videos

  • can you do a tour of all your house after you finish remodeling your house

  • @doormat321 A DAC is a Digital to Analogue Converter, and every sound card has several of them (one for each output).

  • @doormat321 A DAC is a Digital to Analogue Converter, and every sound card will have several of them. One for each input or output, in fact.

  • i guess u no what a dac is but far far better than any sound crd in the world.

    .

  • My dad owns a realy high end audio company have a look at musicarch and give him a shout get some advice and it doesnt need to be expensive but it can be.

  • 10:21 Fan badges :D Been waiting for these :D

  • I almost jumped up and started dancing too... lol umm no. ive wanted a htpc for awhile; it was interesting to see your ideas.

  • Origen

  • Tom, the amp is the weak link in that speaker set-up. You want an amp that has double the RMS wattage on the back of the speakers, and make sure the ohms match. Should sound lovely then whatever you're shoving through them!

  • @1nothingspecial thats the amp scythe make for the speakers, its fine for review audio and a pc just not good enough for my front room I dont think

  • Watched right to the end, and loved it as always dude. A tour of TTL Towers would be awesome! Take care bud.

  • what model are those speakers?

  • @unknownuser200985 made by scythe

  • i have 2 denon amps in my house, love em!!!

  • could go fusion 4 better graphics

  • tom can you tell me where i can buy an monitor exacly like your please?

Thanks alot mate keep up with amazing videos =D

  • @amdebk4ever Aria

  • nice rv03 build :)

  • Big fish little fish cardboard box

  • that fractal is not cheap , but is it cool enough?(sorry did not hear the full review) what do you prefer this or the silverstone you reviewed a couple time back?

  • @TheMRamstaff Ive never reviewed a silverstone ITX?

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms yeah sorry it was matx :( .

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms hey just wondering but what internet speeds do you have :)

  • ahh bit of Nickelback - Shakin' Hands (2nd song)

  • Thats awsome! you can play 1080p without buffering! :D I have to wait for it to buffer to play 480p. :(

  • I am digging these kind of vids! :)

  • Nice phone

    Got the same one :D

  • :d i watched to the end :P

  • YES! TTL has the same phone as me! have you overclocked yours tom? ive done mine to 1.6GHz :D

  • @TekJoex What phone is it? Im only 3 minutes into the video.

  • @NerdMirage Samsung Galaxy S2. best phone on the market atm :)

  • @TekJoex nah. Getting the motorolla atrix next month. That owns the S2 ;)

  • @NerdMirage i prefer the S2, much nicer design and i just prefer samsung as a whole :)

  • @TekJoex I like how you can use the Atrix as a desktop PC. Just buy a 30 quid dock and plug it into a screen and youre done.

  • @NerdMirage I got the S2 because I wanted a phone. The vaio is my laptop :p

  • @TekJoex Absolutely agree, the S2 is great, but I own one so I am biased. I will say after extensive time with the Atrix the S2 is better. I was testing both in store for ages and just found the S2 better, horses for curses though. The S2 does nearly everything the Atrix does, is faster and slimmer. Yeah the docking stuff is fine but you can just DLNA the S2 (and every android phone) natively. Plus the screen is off tap, Super AMOLED FTW!

  • did anyone exit fullscreen when the E-mail sound went off or was it just me...

  • I hope you won't be using that crappy analogue sound card with whatever receiver you're going to get?

  • @z00h crappy analogue sound? Yeah cause speakers produce digital sound don't they? Troll harder next time.

  • @NerdMirage HDMI, ever heard of one? no, well welcome to the XXI century. btw, u a hipsta?

  • @z00h funnily enough yes I have heard of HDMI. But you also need a very nice and expensive amplifier with awesome DACs for it to match the performance of analogue audio. My hi fi kit is 16 years old and still sounds fucking awesome.

  • @NerdMirage for the money he wants to spend he'll be able to buy a receiver which will put his current internal card to shame. ever heard of analogue interference?

  • @z00h of course I have. And thats the exact thing you will get with poxy little amps and speaker cables like you probably have. However my Naim Audio kit sounds great with no interference... And I can guarantee you its much nicer sounding than those speakers he is using right now.

  • @NerdMirage lol, your mum called, it's time for bed

  • @z00h and thats the best you can come up with to try and return an argument? GTFO my youtube please.

  • I prefer the Fractal, it has airflow. I did almost stop watching when u blasted loud trance music at me, that's dedication.

  • Is that an iMac I spy at the side of the shot?

  • What cpu cooler are you going to put in your new case? dont think your current one will fit!

  • @connell256 it fits fine dude its the same height as the soundcard :)

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

While we are on the subject of small form factor MOBOs i thought I would ask, do you have any intentions of reviewing the Maximus Gene-Z?

  • Galaxy S2 <3, I can't wait until it comes out here in the states.

  • damn thats a sexy phone how much did you pay for it?

  • @mota411 £519 :o

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms damn, well I cannot wait until the WP7 SGII comes out!!

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Glad I waited for mine, picked it up for £400 on Ebay brand new with a Casemate case as well.

  • itunes?! why would anyone install that malware on their computer ?!

  • @mota411 It's not malware you retard.

  • @mota411 its the cleanest and nicest looking music player, you don't need to buy music on it

  • @mota411 because its from apple its malware?
