i downloaded rfactor and it let me play like a demo version for one day. and now im trying to start it today and its asking me to buy it, the option to play isnt even there... is that just how long the demo is or am i missing something, oh and it wouldnt let me play online yesterday/ kept saying my \car wasnt recognized by the server..

how come when im on a downloaded track or in dled car after a few seconds of starting i get horrible static sounding shit???? when i rev the engine i hear static and no engine its that bad!!! ive just started rfactor so if theres a trick can sum1 tell me?

When i first tried the OBS mod, i was astounded by how hard it was. And having a 200 degree wheel didnt help. I gave up and uninstalled. I tried with different cars, and they were a lot easier (WRC Subaru)

drifting is actually easier with less rotation. i went from an xbox wireless wheel @ 240 to a driving force gt @ 900 and it's WAY harder to transition from one drift into another because you have to rotate the wheel so much more in the same amount of time to countersteer at the right angle. i do admit that this mod is a bit "difficult" i guess.. it seems the physics aren't "consistant", sometimes the tires slide perfectly, sometimes they'll gain grip suddenly and into the wall you go.

It just takes a while to get used to. Having the 900 degrees means you don't have to be as smooth to get better angle and speed. Just try to start transitioning before you would normally and you should be fine. The mod is definately not one for beginners though, mainly people who've been on Oversteer for a while, but it's one of the most realistic drifting simulations i've ever driven/seen

GT5 is a graphical masterpiece, and is a million times better looking than this.

But it is of course designed to be used with a control pad, being a playstation game, and thus the realism isn't even close to what rFactor achieves.

Gran Turismo 5 is actually created to be used with the new Logitech GT steering wheel ;)

But they still say the game is most enjoyable with the G25!

I too game rFactor with the G25, and this mod is one of the best!

Also do you have any tips for the force feedback settings for a steering wheel? i bought a DFP and refunded it cause i couldnt get a "good feeling" out of it :( That was with grip racing tho, ill try the suggested settings with drifting i guess.

i have a dfp and play gt5 prologue and you get use to it, i use 900 degree, 8/10 force feedback and no power assisted steering for both racing and drifting
