I forgot to say that I work a night shift, see about an hour of sun through sun glasses on my drive home every day, and use a HappyLight (10,000 lux) for a few hours at work in the night. (Sun has a psychological component that you need too.)
I had a vitamin D level of 13. My doctor was almost freaked out. He put me on 40,000 IU/day for 7 days, then one of those per week for 6 weeks. Then one per month. Now I take a daily 5,000 IU pill and I feel fine. I think my current level a year later is around 60. (Not to be misconstrued as medical advice, I am not a doctor.)
@linagee Did your doctor put you on a prescription Vitamin D supplement...If so it's probably D2. You might want to listen to the last video (if you haven't already done so) to hear what she says about Vitamin D2
